  1. Speaking of finding LEGO on the ground, I found a Support 2 x 2 x 10 Girder Triangular Vertical in dk bley the other day just sitting there. Didn't pick it up because it was dirty and bent/damaged.
  2. Nice fire station.
  3. Technically, that's not a bus, its a coach (even if LEGO refers to it as a bus in their description) I do however agree that it is a GREAT vehicle.
  4. I concur with this being useful. I would also like to propose the creation of an inverse version of part http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3044 Basically you take this part http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3665 then remove the 1 x 1 brick worth of material then combine 2 of them together back to back with 2 studs on top. I have a use for a bunch of em in basic colors like red and yellow.
  5. Remember that we did get a gas station of sorts (gas pumps anyway) as part of the car parking garage from last year.
  6. Someone posted here http://www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=5784 and said "I asked about the gas station, and it is not part of the set, nor another new set, it's just something they made for the layout. Sadly. I would love to have a new gas station." so the gas station is not a set. As for the access to parts that aren't available in sets, there were a few moonbase modules a while back made by LEGO designers that included such parts as http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=52041 in blue, green and pink, Or http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=52031 in pink (which didn't exist at the time) Or http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2598 in trans-orange see http://www.brickfest.com/moonbase_poll_options.php for some pictures. Not to mention all the parts that people have obtained through various means. (like the 2 x 2 round tiles in trans-clear that I have even though they never appeared in a set) And in any case the green curved slope http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=61068 DOES exist in green (in a Ninja Turtles set)
  7. Related to the Bionicle story, the first waves of Hero Factory specifically said "By the makers of Bionicle" on the packaging, presumably to capture all the market that liked Bionicle but didn't really like LEGO more generally.
  8. Anyone recognize the Deli signs in the back of that photo of the bike shop?
  9. I suspect the bus stop will be in the set, it would not make sense to have a bus in the set without having the bus stop sign.
  10. Bit disappointed with Superheroes this year, the sets are nowhere near as nice as some of last years efforts like the Hulk set or some of the Batman sets.
  11. Nice job, really captures that Ice Planet feel whilst looking bigger and better :)
  12. Based on an analysis of the photos, I think the following items are in the new as-yet-unknown set(s) The green street sweeper Possibly the blue station wagon/whatever that's on top of the car garage (I dont think its a rebuild/recolor of any existing car) The yellow crane The red bus The Octan gas station The Bike Shop The red-on-yellow <-o-> bus stop sign (the square item underneath it looks to me like a square clip-on road sign with some sort of bus timetable/schedule/map on it) The knight statue The pizza joint (including the blue outdoor table with the umbrella) The kid on the skateboard with the lime green baseball cap
  13. One time I was out doing some shopping and I had a large MOC with me that I was going to show the family later in the evening. (since I dont have a car, I have to carry my MOCs with me everywhere including on public transport etc) Some random guy who I had never seen before talks to me about it and not only says "cool building" (something that a lot of people have done when I have had MOCs with me) but actually suggested I upload it to Brickshelf (mentioning the site by name), something I did eventually end up doing :) Don't know if the guy was an AFOL but the fact that he knew of Brickshelf implies he was at least somewhat of a fan :)
  14. Maybe the little green street sweeper car comes in the 60026. I suspect the Octan Gas Station IS a new set (either stand-alone or quite possibly part of the 60026) as it has new parts and stickers that wouldn't be made only for a display like this. I bet the sign with the red <-o-> arrow on the yellow tile is also in the 60026. Can anyone tell how the outriggers on the new crane are built? In saying all this, I for one LOVE what we have seen so far (red bus, gas station, crane, pizza joint, bike shop) and will be very much interested in buying whatever becomes available (funds permitting of course) Glad I haven't bought the Museum set, house-on-fire set or some of the other "nice but not WOW" 2013 sets.
  15. I just hope this new set (or whatever includes the red bus, bike shop, pizza place and gas station) is not a Toys R Us exclusive like the Public Transport was.
  16. I dont think its new, I think its this http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=4645-1 from 2011. Thats a big model with a green hull
  17. They would have a hard time convincing the ACCC of that story (brands vs products) in any misleading-advertising case :)
  18. ...You spend an hour or more riding a bus (even when there might be faster ways to get from where it starts to where it goes and even when you dont really need to go where the bus is going) because you want to replicate that particular model of bus in LEGO and you need to take photographs of it/get ideas. ...You spend ages at a bus station or riding on the system so you can find the specific model of bus you have just made and compare your LEGO model to the real thing to make sure you got it right. ...You are on holidays in another state and you happen to visit a LEGO retailer and see the new sets on the shelf and then immediately post on Eurobricks to let everyone know the new sets are available just so you can claim to be the first person to post that the sets have arrived ...You sit on the bus going home staring at the LEGO you have just bought trying to resist the urge to build it right then and there ...You lose a piece from a MOC while you are out showing it to other people and you spend ages looking for it rather than risk going home without it even if it means catching a later bus than you would have caught (this happened to me once when I lost my only "Road Sign Clip-on 2 x 2 Octagon with STOP Pattern" off a School Bus MOC I had built and I spent ages finding it on the ground and eventually found it) ...You spend so much time sorting out/building with/messing with/searching through your LEGO collection that you start to feel worn out and then you wonder if you can count what you just did as "Exercise" if its worn you out. (and you wonder if there is a way to calculate how much calories/fat/sugar/energy you burned in doing all that LEGO work) ...You spend ages outside a fire station hoping the trucks need to go somewhere so you can get a better look at them as references for a fire truck MOC
  19. Nice cars. Where did the dollar bill tiles come from?
  20. If you want to talk bugs, a wasp tribe could make for interesting baddies. (more so than a fly tribe)
  21. Lizard tribe? (might be too close to the Crocodile tribe though)
  22. Look at some FBTB pictures such as this one it looks like the tracks are PF straight tracks with old 4.5v tracks placed in the middle.

    Courthouse

    Nice courthouse.
  24. The C stands for communications.
  25. Those cylinders are not LEGO. Not sure what they are but they aren't LEGO.
