  1. Someone in another forum reported that a MYER in Sydney was reported as having the Kingdoms Joust, Horizon Express and also the Mini Modulars in stock. Didn't expect the Mini Modulars to make it to Oz. Will be interesting to see what exclusives the other retailers get this year...
  2. I dont even wanna know what that Opera House is going to cost here in Oz...
  3. Its hard to tell from the pictures but does this contain anything that could be considered a map? (I am trying to collect every LEGO map ever made)
  4. I doubt there is anyone that has a complete record of the various colors LEGO used in those early years.
  5. Nice, really captures the feel and humor of HHGTG.
  6. The $159 is the Shop @ Home AU RRP for the train. US price is $129
  7. Anyone heard any rumors yet about the Haunted House comming to Oz? Or the Batman Arkham set?
  8. MYER Perth CBD had the Lone Ranger train and Indian camp on the shelf. No sign of any other LR sets.
  9. Didn't see any Lone Ranger at Carousel MYER yesterday, no sign at all in WA yet (but give it time, I am sure it will get here soon)
  10. You are lucky to have so many Iron Men, I would be happy with just ONE (but even the cheapest Iron Man set is too expensive here in Australia)
  11. Is that RRP? If so (and if the US$29.99 US RRP I have seen quoted elsewhere is correct) then we are getting ripped off this year compared to the generous RRPs we got on the second-half Creator sets last year (the deal I got at Toys R Us for the Creator Beach House was one of the BEST deals I have ever gotten on LEGO)
  12. Even at 20% off I am not convinced that Lone Ranger (like most of the Super Heroes line) is worth it given the high Australian RRP for the sets. Iron Man Mandarin set is about 1.7x more expensive in Oz. Chima Glider set (which has more parts than the Iron Man set and costs $1 less than the Iron Man set in the USA) is only 1.3x more expensive. Looking at it another way, the Iron Man set is about 1.08x more expensive than the Glider set in the USA yet its 1.4x more expensive in Australia
  13. Thats a great deal on the Minotarus set, that's less than the RRP of the green 32x32 alone,
  14. I went through most of a pair of boxes at Target the other day and I am not a scalper and had no interest whatsoever in Mr Gold or in obtaining large numbers of any figure. In fact, the most I bought of any figure was 2 :) There was someone else there too who was feeling to find a Bumblebee and a Clown. (which I helped them do)
  15. This is AWSOME. I hate to think how much all that armor must have cost you (especially the helmet parts)
  16. This kind of credit card fraud is a real problem (and not just with LEGO). It involves bad guys using stolen or fake credit cards to buy items that are of reasonable value, easy/cheap/fast to ship and easy to re-sell and having them shipped to re-shippers. The re-shippers then ship it on to someone who works for the bad guys (who is probably going to be someone low on the totem pole to obscure whats really going on) where it is then s9old on eBay or other auction/sale sites (possibly using stolen/hacked accounts) at a price low enough to move it quickly but high enough to actually make some money from it. Real owner of the credit card issues a charge back, merchant then investigates. Only information the merchant has is credit card info (all of which is either bogus or tied to the real owner of the card) and the re-shipper details. The re-shipper wont hand over the details of their customer without a court order or warrant or subpoena or whatever. And even if they do, said information is likely useless (even if the person/address it points at is in a country where its possible to go after them, the item is likely already moved on and impossible to further track down)
  17. Target Fremantle has 2 boxes of S10
  18. unlike others i predict the cop wont have a club or any kind of weapon,LEGO never gives police weapons
  19. I regret not buying the police station with the light-up cop. Only City police station I dont own. (I have all the others going back to the short-lived World City theme, the one with the orange-jumpsuited prisoner) The fan-designed Space Skulls set would have been nice to get too (I did get the Star Justice set though) The re-issued Octan Gas & Wash Express set would have been nice (although given how many Octan parts I now have, I certainly dont need it anymore :) The Mindstorms Ultimate Builders Set would be nice to go with my RIS 2.0 (not that I can use said RIS since I cant get it to work on my Windows 7 x64 PC) There are a few of the large d2c sets that I wish I had been able to get too like the Green Grocer, Eiffel Tower and 787 Dreamliner.
  20. MYER and Target in Perth CBD have new stock. MYER has a few boxes of S10, the S2 friends animals (poodle, hedgehog and rabbit). Both of them are over by the toy counter, not with the rest of the LEGO. Target has 2 boxes of S10 (which is where I got the ones I wanted). Both stores have new Superheroes (although I haven't seen either the Superman Smallville set or the Iron Man Mandarin set yet, are those retailer exclusives?) No clue about Mr Gold as I have no interest in that figure :)
  21. I have yet to see a single box of Series 10 in WA, let alone a Mr Gold :( Yet Again WA (aka Wait Awhile) has to wait ages after the eastern states get stuff (and no, the time it takes to actually get here on a truck cant be an excuse unless those trucks are the slowest trucks in the known universe)
  22. Personally I think Galaxy Squad is good, if I was building Space (and not City/Town/present day), I would probably buy some. Is it as good as Alien Conquest? No. Is it the worst Space theme LEGO has ever done? No, LEGO have done worse (including Insectoids). As for Castle, it was designed specifically to appeal to younger builders who are too young for Lord of the Rings and in that role I think it does well. Its simpler than previous Castle lines (e.g. Kingdoms) but that's fine with me. (if I built Castle, I would probably want to buy a few for some of the parts :) I do agree LEGO needs to put less into one-hit-wonder licenses like Toy Story and Cars (and like this years Planes license). Starwars is great for LEGO and with the announcement of new films and other new Starwars content, there will be plenty of fresh material for the sets going forward. Superheroes is also a good idea, its clear that Marvel and Warner aren't going to stop making film and TV content featuring their classic Superheroes anytime soon (in addition to Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel, we have a whole list of superhero films going forward including Thor 2, Captain America 2 and the Ant-Man film plus Avengers 2 and others not to mention TV content to draw from. And who knows what DC and Warner are doing next after Man of Steel) All 3 universes (Starwars, DC and Marvel) are going to have plenty of content going forward to sustain the product lines and I dont see any of the 3 being less popular with the target audiences for the various LEGO products than they are right now. 23. Is that a new forklift piece in the cargo sets? Best of the line is definatly the tilt-rotor, that pilot minifig looks great. And I love the nose piece and the parts selection generally (like the fact that it has 2 of the new ear protectors) None of the others look like they have enough good parts to be worth buying . Seems like for City 2h2013, the only sets worth it for me to buy are the race truck, city square and tilt-rotor :)
  24. Great police station, for some reason some parts of it (the gym area especially) make me think of the Police Academy films.
