The classic Disney animation (including Little Mermaid, Cinderella etc) is being done as Duplo sets which I suspect LEGO believes will appeal more to the likely audience for these films than would either minifig sets or off-scale sets (i.e. Friends type figs) That said, there are some items in other sets that are perfect for making classic animation stuff (for example the Genie in the Minifigures line is clearly a rip-off of the Genie from Aladdin)

Missing/damaged parts or minifigures in new sets

More and more retailers around here seem to be using rope alarms to secure their higher value sets in order to prevent theft. -
What Collectible MiniFig Is Your Favorite Army Builder?
jonwil replied to Mr. Elijah Timms's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The closest I come to having an "army" are all the surgeons I bought (I was doing a hospital MOC at the time and the torsos are useful for both surgeons and doctors in general and the x-ray tiles are good for sticking up around the place or sticking in the hands of the medical guys) There are a couple I have bought 3 or 4 of though like the Computer Programmer (because I am an IT guy and a computer geek).- 65 replies

ASK HERE MOC-stuck? Ask for general building advice here!
jonwil replied to mrklaw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have built a replica of this style of bus Here is my replica What I want advice on is how to replicate the front end from this photo: Or the one from this photo: In both cases the windscreen and everything above it would stay the same and the area available for the front-end look would stay the same. Does anyone have any ideas on how to replicate either of those 2 front-ends (the one with the really fancy headlights or the one with the smiley-face headlights) in the same area as has been used for the headlights in my current design? I can replicate the rest of both buses no problems, I just cant think of an idea of how to replicate the front ends without a bunch of custom stickers that wont look so good. -

I have definatly seen the black Star Wars ship at retail (the one that looks a bit like an x-wing or z95 but with different wings) If I spot any of the others anywhere in my travels tomorrow I will be sure to tell people where :) -
Great fish tank, really captured the look of the different fish. And yes, its a great use of the diver figure :)

If you are a ghosthead, you should support both Ghostbusters projects on their journey towards 10k This is the other one that is anywhere near 10k: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/8058 Supporting both and pushing both over the 10k line makes it more likely that LEGO will consider a Ghostbusters set for production.

That "nightclub" armor makes me think of TRON for some reason... -
I believe the double clip piece on the trailer wheel arches is a BrickArms part.

I believe the primary reason why they dont allow re-shippers is because of the increasing amount of cases where criminals use stolen credit cards to buy high-value goods (not just from LEGO but from many other online retailers too) which they then sell off (and since the money used to purchase the items in the first place was stolen, any money the criminals make when they resell them is pure profit to the criminals) -
REVIEW: 71002 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11
jonwil replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Boy do I love that Saxophone, definatly in my top 5 best minifig accessories of all time And the plans I have for one of the people living in my next house MOC to be a Saxophone player seem to be good based on the size and grip point of the Sax :) Re the 2 full sets per box, LEGO started doing that (including figures only in multiples of 2) because they are now selling a smaller box that includes half as many figures. As for the Barbarian, I am sure that if it had back printing WhiteFang would have said so in his review :)- 117 replies

I must say the cargo heliplane is an awesome build, as is the race truck. Now I just need to wait for the new Friends sets to show up (some of them look potentially interesting), for the DeLorien set to appear on Shop @ Home for sale in the next day or so and then later in the year, S11 and the Opera House (although I will probably see who gets the Opera House next year in the mid-year sales) That and likely some Bricklink purchases for parts for my next MOC project :) -

Spotted the new City and SW sets at Target and K-Mart in Carousel including the coast guard boat, race truck, cargo stuff and that black Star Wars stealth ship. -

As of today Target Innaloo had both the coast guard helicopter and the 4 x 4 and rubber boat set. Nothing in TRU or K-Mart and still no sign of any of the Cargo sets or the Octan Race Truck. -
Some further searching indicates the best way to get these is to buy the 10663 bucket which contains 8 sets of wheels and tyres (and a bunch of other interesting looking parts besides) Also interesting is that both models to feature these so far have used them as truck wheels and not used their "sportier" side seen in the LDD images above. So far it comes only in light bley but I am hoping it shows up in more colors soon (black for one would be very nice to have as would silver)

Has anyone seen the 10663 bucket at retail? It looks like an interesting parts selection (although, like most bucket sets it has too many 2xn bricks for my taste) -
Are these new wheels available in a set yet?

For those in WA, I spotted the new Coast Guard rescue helicopter (not the Target-exclusive airplane, the helicopter with the 6-blade rotor) at Target in Perth CBD. No sign of anything else new though. -
They are wearing ear-protectors so they wouldn't be able to hear on a walkie-talkie anyway :) Me too, I just LOVE this set (although for once I wont be applying the stickers as the parts are more useful to me without them :). The new cockpit nose piece is perfect for any number of larger helicopter designs and I hope it appears in more colors and soon :)

Anyone seen (or know of a release for) the cargo tilt-rotor helicopter, the Octan race truck or Series 11? -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
jonwil replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I wish these would hurry up and come out in Australia (we always seem to get things last :( ) I need the Saxophone for a new MOC I am about to start working on :) -
Some more I thought of: When you spend hours and visit many different stores just to find the exact size of plastic storage container you need because the current container holding a particular size of brick is now too small for the amount of that part you have. When you spend the equivalent of an entire weeks rent on LEGO in a single day (obviously spending the actual rent money on LEGO would be stupid, bit hard to manage a massive LEGO collection if you are homeless :) When you start wishing LEGO had a credit card that gave points for all your non-LEGO spending that you could use st Shop @ Home and LEGO stores to buy more LEGO (and think that such a card would be much better than a card that gave frequent flyer points) When you go walking around the neighborhood and stare at everyone's houses looking for ideas for your next house MOC When you watch lifestyle shows on TV to get ideas for MOCs When you consider replacing your kitchen table with one sized to the LUG table specs so you can do an entire table worth of MOCs for the next show but have to abandon the idea because your kitchen is too small. When you have so much LEGO that you have to look up on Bricklink to find out if you own a certain piece or not (and how many) so you know where in your storage system it needs to go (i.e. are the 4 of this part I just found in my unsorted LEGO the only 4 I own or are there more in my storage somewhere)
