Now this is an amazing idea! Would love to see it in brick form!

Hope so :)

Sounds good, I have had my eye on a couple. Maybe will pick up the 31012 set. It looks fun to build and also a good foundation of knowledge.

Great advice, I will try small and have been sniffing around what others have done, trying to work out the logistics and techniques. I feel a modular purchase coming on at some point soon!

Normally, we build together, but the selfishness in me wants to do this solo first!

MOC - modular medieval corner inspired by set 1592

Really love this. Great to see the older, more historical buildings surviving next to more modern ones. Fantastic effort! -
Yes, thats the one!

Apologies for being a real newbie here, shouting loud, but ... After wanting a lego train for years, even as a kid, and never getting one, finally yesterday I managed to get myself the passenger train at a reasonable price here in Sweden. Excited; yes very! Biggest challenge is to hide it from the kids until I get it built! So, hopefully, I'll be in here more often, combining train ideas with cities!

Where to find cheaper LEGO City roadplates?
igacreative replied to Transparency for Effect's topic in LEGO Town
Probably not too much use, but on wandering into the new toyshop at Barkaby, just outside Stockholm (Lekmer), I was delighted to find out that Lego is the cheapest I have seen anywhere in Sweden. Road plates normally are 129sek for two, but here they were 99sek. Nearly got some, but in the end had to pick up the passanger train, which normally in Swedish shops is 1399sek, but set me back 999sek! Bargain!- 26 replies

As a fellow newbie, emerging from the dark age, this is very inspirational!

Thank you all so far, @holodoc - all sound advice, very practical, just what I was looking for! @whydoris - I was thinking of this but haven't! I guess this is where the foundations are laid (no pun intended). @sithewok - good to see I'm not the only newbie with big ambitions! I'm going to look into the VIP points (I have used bricklink for extra's so far!) Lots to learn, but its a fun journey!

Hi all, So, I am new here, with ambitions (probably far above my capability and station) to build some modular buildings, along with some appropriate vehicles/minifigs, but with regard to the buildings, where did you start? Those of you with experience building custom modular buildings, how did you start, what design process did you use, and most importantly, what advice for a beginner like me. All the best Ian (igacreative)

Seriously awesome work. Detailed, and with a heartening story!

This is a great recreation. Very close to the original, with some license used to make it work as a model. Love the google map link, have just played for too looking around the area! Thank you for sharing!

Great idea, I knew it was all lies about him not being alive!

Fantasic! Im new here, and have this idea to create my first layout of the area of all towns doesn't dare go, probably with an apt name like Cheapside! Great to see someone else with the same mind!

Seriously beautiful work, and so imaginative!

Would you like the Vikings theme to return?
igacreative replied to Alfadas's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Being in Sweden, it would be great to have some more Viking sets, especially if we could have a few Norse gods thrown in for good measure. Non Marvel Thor and Loki would be fantastic!
