  1. Great effort bringing all these epic MOC's together in one book.
  2. Runs very smooth. Nice choice of wheels there. I like it.
  3. It's great to dream big dreams, or to have a constructive critical conversation. However one should always keep in mind to play the ball, not the man. Please don't make negative personal remarks towards other forum members.
  4. I love this moc. It's very elegantly build and handles very nicely off-road.
  5. Yes, i had a similar balancing barrel on my Mark 3. However what i really want is not a barrel that self-levels with the ground, but that levels with the aiming point. If you'd aim perfectly horizontally that would be the same thing. But if you'd aim with a 10-degree elevation and the hull is elevated by 5 degrees, then the resulting elevation of the barrel should be 5 degrees not minus 5 degrees as your Leopard 2A4 would do, unless i am missing something. I think it can be done by adjusting the balance in the system, for instance by shifting the pivot-point or by shifting some weight. It could also be done by using the EV3 gyro and some programming, but i'd rather do it purely mechanically. In any case it will be some time before i will build a new tank.
  6. That Challenger 2 looks really nice, i can see the similarities. I'll think about making a replica of that some day. You are quite persistent .
  7. Yes well, building a replica would certainly be a challenge for me, since i've never really done that. On the other hand, if there is anything that excites me and gives me enjoyment, it's building functionality. And i'd like to let form follow functionality. I don't want to restrict myself to a certain form. I also like to see the new forms that emerge by this creative process. Maybe i'll reach a point where i'd like to include all i learned into a replica, but that wont be for a long time, i think. That doesn't mean i don't enjoy really nice LEGO replicas of tank, like you make. Besides tanks i love sailing ships. At the moment i am making a LEGO sailing boat. It will be my first attempt, so it's nothing fancy, just some basic functions and ugly as hell. Very curious how your Sturmtiger will turn out, i imagine it will be quite a beast :).
  8. Yes i saw, i was thinking along similar lines, my current prototype also uses the 5 and 3 beams. But i don't have concrete plans for a new tank yet, so it's going slow. Although seeing your work does give me an itch... :) But first i'll have to finish the project i am working on, otherwise it will become a mess.
  9. Very nice! I see you managed to make it more compact and nice use of the LEGO springs. Well done!
  10. Great amount of functionality for it's size and an awesome amount of detail. Love how well the turret turned out. Very iconic. I think it's your best one so far.
  11. Afaik that one is used to charge the battery of EV3 (45501) which is sold seperately and only usable with mindstorm not meant for PF. But i agree that is would be very nice to have something like you describe for PF.
  12. It's very good to investigate before investing. I am much in the same position as you, i'd like to see if it's worth the purchase. They are awfully expensive.
  13. Perhaps the Hamster pulled a quick one on you and sold the parts on the black-market (BL) for a quick euro?
  14. I like the style of the MOC, it has some serious attitude. I also like the size, very small and compact, with a nice assortment of functions. But like Zblj mentioned, that battery-box... ouch, it really hurts the aesthetics of an otherwise very cool MOC. I know it can be very difficult sometimes to find the space, but this is not the way to do it IMO.
  15. I am by no means a physicist but i do know that friction and energy loss are all important and it's difficult to calculate all friction and inefficiency in a system before hand, because one type of friction also interacts with other kinds of friction. On the flip side, a formula that ignores friction will be hugely inaccurate in predicting maximum vehicle speed. But i am sure some of the true engineers here will come up with a better answer.
  16. It's definitely one of my favorites. Yet i feel it misses some of the 'facial expression' of the original. This one looks a bit clueless.
  17. I expect most people would feel honored and proud to have their MOC's reviewed by others. It is after all an indirect compliment to their skill.
  18. Nice name there Ender. Welcome to EB, hope to see you on the technic forum.
  19. Hadn't seen that one before, looks pretty darn awesome. Thanks for posting it here.
  20. At least there is always human powered LEGO flight. By Vuurzoon:
  21. My favorite so far. Although the competition is fierce.
  22. Well, there are quite a few Brazilians, and in general they are nice people to know. I wasn't born in Brazil unfortunately, my mother lived in Brazil for a while, but then came back to Holland. But my father is a Brazilian, he and all his family still live there. I visit them whenever i can.
  23. EPIC! Perhaps include his iconic ion blaster?
