  1. I might use the beard to make a scruffy Thrain :)
  2. I have recently designed my own Balrog using LDD, haven't built it in real bricks yet cos I need the wings of the minecraft Ender dragon and 4 of the new chima trans fire wings for his mane... It's compleatly different to the videogame version. I'll take some screenshots and put them on here soon, I would like to know what you guys think of it :)
  3. The use of the tiles held by clips for the computer monitors and the yellow barriers is effective but surprising, I thought only minifugures were alowed to hold tiles?
  4. Very nice!!
  5. Very nice! I'm going to expand my own council of elrond too one day, I hope it's going to look as good as yours :)
  6. Lovely, a lot of heart and personality went into making that! Superb
  7. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/373403 this is and old one I quite liked, it has alot of the aesthetic and details and is properly 3D like it should be but isn't overwhelming like some if the others
  8. Wow, that's awesome looking! Can't wait to see how you develop the inside :)
  9. Ah sorry I didn't see the previous mentioning :*
  10. Iv just seen some of the new ninjago sets in a store, something on the box art of 70748 caught my eye: this element used on the snake character, it looks perfect for orcs, colour the tan parts grey and you could easily use it for Bolg!
  11. Seeing the last hobbit movie made me quite angry with the battle of five armies set with respect to the presence of the massive ballista which wasn't in the film, and the absence of a troll which were quite common in the film and would have been a welcome bone for LOTR fans :/ Still, having the white council, the fellowship and the Thorin's company all complete is pleasing :)
  12. Fantastic work! I like the shot of Bard on the cart
  13. I am getting a load of the goblin myself for army building, the moria-orc hair looks great with it I think, the colours match well. What I plan to do firstly is use the goblin to populate orc strongholds where it doesn't matter that they are not armoured (orc forge and orthanc for example), thus displacing all the official orcs which have proper armour torsos forward to the battle scenes.
  14. Those are great torsos but I see everyone else is after them too; they are quite pricy on eBay! I'll keep my eye out for them non the less, thanks for showing me them!
  15. Magneto. Yes I am most pleased with how he looks :). I came across his head by chance at the LEGO Lost World exhibition in the UK last year (milestones museum in Basingstoke). It was one of the parts available to build your own figure from. They also had the green crown of the dead king and Oin's beard oddly enough along with other non-licensed parts
  16. That figure is nothing but salt in the wound. As others have said an Old bilbo would have been so intuitive for this application.. Maybe there will be a 3 film box-set or a book later on giving us something actually desired
  17. Thanks for the advice I haven't considered Vikings actually, that torso is very good, I'll see what I can get my hands on :)
  18. Hi guys I just posted some of my custom purist LOTR figures for you to have a look at, I'm personally quite pleased with them but still wouldn't mind if LEGO made them superfluous with that ideas project we are all keeping an eye on http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=104200
  19. Hello everyone, with Minas Tirith acheiving 10.000 supporters on IDEAS I wanted to quickly show off my own custom minifigures of (currently) missing characters. These are purist creations using a mixture of LOTR parts and elements from other themes. I tried to make these on a budget as I'm still hoping for additional LOTR sets using the IDEAS site. Firstly Denethor and Faramir. Denethor uses Magneto's head and the hairpiece from the lego movie cat lady. I might swap Faramir's head for Dastan's in the future. Secondly: Hama and Eowyn in both her civilian and soldier outfits. She uses bat-girl's head, which is double sided. Finaly I have Gondor soldiers and guards with Denethor. As many others have done they use the body of the knight from the Lego collectibles series (which I luckily managed to pick up several of when they were on shelves). Also for a future Edoras display I wanted another Grima Wormtounge, but since he is so expensive I have had a look at making a discount version. To my delight the head of the Ironman movie Mandarin makes an excellent Grima, only the body needs some more searching to find something better than the jedi/sith torsos. Here is his head put on Denethor's body for now: Happy new year!
  20. I would get the sets that are no longer in production, so mines of moria first (but you will be getting it for the figures, unless you resell it where you can easily make a profit)
