I guess it makes sense... Smaug wasn't designed (or should that be written) to be ridden... Eddie Primus (yup that's the name my 5 year old had given the green amoured dragon) definitely is one to be ridden Great comparison Dancer! Much love D

kings castle seige (2004ish) or kings castle (2013)
nine09nueve replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I have 4x 70404... with a few extra dark bley 2x4 bricks from yourfriendly neighbourhood BL seller and you can get some serious castle action going on... at some point I'll post stuff... but I'm already behind on the Elf Army vids *sigh* so much LEGO so little time... Much Love D -
You may/may not be aware that there are a few virtual Lego building applications that you can download - so that you can build it first (or at least try some stuff) from the comfort of your own PC/Mac/*insert hardware of choice here* Ultimately I don't think there's any substitute to getting your hands dirty (plasticky?) but the computer versions allow you to test to your heart's content without it being an expensive process buying elements that you don't end up using because you got your calculations wrong! And once you're happy with it you can print out a parts list so you know exactly what you need to order... Bricklink.com is a good site to start with. Have fun and would love to see pictures of the build. Much love D p.s. Welcome to Eurobricks!

Do you hear that "Thrash"? The people have spoken - we want High Elven helmets... and we want them soon! (I would say now but it's a bit aggressive...) That's at least 4 people that will buy them... (and I bought over 200 of them for my last army!) much love D

[Moc] Serpent Slayer - Viking longship
nine09nueve replied to crayonboi's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This IS good - particularly the customised bits - how did you do the shields? Pad printing? Stickers? -
I would add Wife as a fourth... but mine is lovely and lets me play (with my son's Lego!) Nah - all we need is some ED-209 magic and either a friendly neighbourhood pad-printer guy/gal - or someone who's a dab hand at the old licky sticky decals and we'd be away! (apart from the helmets.... )

I need Lego shavings for project, but how?
nine09nueve replied to Cloveapple's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Actually I've tried this - get a big old (ie one you don't mind destroying) kitchen knife and a decent chopping board and then chop your element into little bits... I used an old 2x1 yellow brick... and took little bits off at a time - and then dumped it into some acetone for a day or so... it worked fine but the "paint" I'd created wasn't very consistent or reproduce-able! Wardancer taught me how to mix lego yellow for ear painting and it works much much better! What are you using the mix for IF you don't mind us asking? (well me) -

Never in a million years did I ever think I'd see the Aubameyang in the title of a MCW post! great work fella p.s: too bad Reus will go to Barcelona soon! -

Harvey Birdman is fantastic... Now you just need to do Space Ghost!

Nah have loads of army plans... Just little things get In the way... Like time... and cash... and life! It's so much easier to do wood elves... TLG don't seem to have the right torso/legs in the right colour combos for high elves - and forget about helmets for them (or the lack thereof!) I suppose high elves could be customised, with a decal here and a lick of paint there... But that's not so easy for me as I'm just starting out in that area and have limited skills. But there are so many other factions that can be made so much easier without customising that I'll end up going in other directions first!
