As Clone O'Patra said, LEGO normally doesn't take ideas from fans (Except the few times when they were taking suggestions for new parts). However, I think even without that rule LEGO might not use the idea anyway. For minifigures, LEGO hasn't had much success with putting motorized bits in if I remember correctly (Light up lightsabres for Star Wars and flashlights for Police). Also a minifigure would have to be on a flat surface for it to work, and without studs to grip onto, minifigs are hard enough to balance. A vibrator would make it fall over before it even moved a centimetre. For sets, they might do it, but it would take a few of them to make anything larger than, say, the Raid VPR set (From SP3) move, and it just doesn't seem like a very good play feature. Why spend a few dollars extra on a set to have it slowly move across a table (While making an odd humming sound also that's likely to annoy the kid's parents enough to throw it out the window) when you can simply pick it up and swoosh it around (More fun anyway).

A heavily modified Imperial Flagship (New one), Brickbeard's Bounty (Disassembled) and a partially built custom ship, as well as about 5 of the little rowboats.

Classic. POTC has cool set designs and nice new parts, but... FLESHIES! And classic pirates has a lot of great sets, like the Imperial Flagship (Both of them) and the older ships, and the various fortresses are much cooler than the Whitecap Bay of POTC.

I'd probably say the big wing part used in some of the new airplanes, and the floating hulls used in boats. I've used those "landing gears" as tables before, and as engine parts in space stuff. What rocket motors are you talking about though? Also, there is a somewhat old (January 2011) topic in the General Discussion about this: Link Bumping from that long ago probably wouldn't be good, but you could see what other people answered with.

Cool. I saw you putting this together at BW, I thought it looked familiar but didn't remember it from Avatar until I saw it with the rotors. Nice work on angling to rotors also. Would have been really cool if you added that bay area at the back where they were dropping crates of explosives from, and maybe one of the Na'vi.

Nice Terminator skeleton "BaronSat". Lots of good details. Very cool looking rust effect all over. Do the eyes have a light brick behind them to make them glow, or is that just a digitally added effect?

Nice mech Pinto. After a very long Google search (Long because this MOC had like the first 20 results so it took a while to find a good picture of the "real" one), it seems to be quite accurate to the original. At first glance, it actually looked more like concept art than a LEGO MOC. Didn't realize it was a MOC until I saw a few studs showing. I think the gun on the top might look a bit better if you used the version of those round parts that doesn't have the TECHNIC holes (Unless you used those to attach the gun to the top of the mech, then it might look better to put in some 1X1 round plates in the holes and have the anti-stud showing, either one would look cool). I like the way you hid the joints on the ankle area, but it doesn't look like the feet will be able to move much (Though that might be a good thing, since there might only be certain positions in which it can balance). How well does it balance anyway, can the legs be moved into other positions and still balance?

@Smack: Sorry for the late reply, I don't check this very often. Unfortunatly, do to a few setbacks (Lack of parts, other projects, school, and the ship falling of the table and breaking into more than 50 parts) I probably won't be posting any updates for a LONG time (Assuming I don't just scrap it first, there were numerous design issues I never worked out how to fix.)

Am I allowed to post a video of my moc?
brickmack replied to ziljin's topic in Forum Information and Help
You can control it, either when uploading or by editing later. It's the "Video Thumbnail" tool. It should display 3 options you can choose from, I'm guessing first, middle, and last but I'm not sure. You might be able to choose another image to use, but I'm not certain, it's been a while since I put anything on Youtube. -
My guess is they have certain sites blocked, (because restaurants don't like customers looking at certain sites around children) and EB somehow got mixed in. Or perhaps EB is hosted by a company that hosts many of those sites, and they just blocked that hosting company. I checked the McDonald's website, and found the contact section. They had an FAQ, but nothing about wifi issues. Here is the link to send them an email about it if you want to, they would probably at least be able to give a good answer.

A long time ago I lost my sig-fig, and had no idea at all where it might have gotten to. A few days later I decided to look for it, and figured it might have fallen into my part box (before I started sorting my parts) so I emptied the box (about 30000 parts) and searched for 3 hours of and on. Ten I systematically checked every room in the house, and all my pants and the washer and dryer. After not finding it there, I checked in all the bushes and grass in a 5 foot radius of my house, but still didn't find it. I gave up after that, but ended up finding it by chance at TRU behind some sets I had been looking at. Still no idea how it got there, but at least I found it. That's kinda sad. But why didn't you just slide the bed a bit and grab it???

An Archaeologist´s Working Life
brickmack replied to Adrian86's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice. The 3rd one is my favorite, though paleontology is more interesting than archaeology I think. Odd keyboard in the first one... -
So Brickworld 2011 is now over (Or will be in a few hours for those staying for the closing ceremonies and all that stuff, I couldn't stay for the whole thing...). This was my first time attending Brickworld, and I'm planning to next year. I saw a lot of great displays (Lot's of really cool ones, like the Titanic and various skyscrapers, and some really huge train sets), and went to a few of the seminars and presentations. There were also some people from EB there, and Hinkley was doing a workshop on landscaping (Though it really ended up just as making a dome). Most of the people there were nice (except one of the vendors seemed a bit grumpy...) My only complaint is that there weren't enough seats for the workshops that I was in, so I ended up having to stand against the back wall for most of them, along with about 10 other people that didn't have seats. And also LEGO didn't have their booth set up, so I had to leave early to go to the store before going home, which ended up taking so long I couldn't go the the presentations I wanted to on Friday afternoon... So what are your thoughts on it?

Do you work out what you need before buying?
brickmack replied to Hrw-Amen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well I don't use Bricklink much, but when I go to places that sell individual parts (or the PAB wall), my method is basicly: 1. Think about what I might need for any of the big projects I'm working on. 2. Get those parts, and any I might need for smaller things. 3. Get any parts that look at all useful. 4. Get any parts that I can't think of a use for but they look vaguely useful and I figure I might use them eventually 5. Get 10-30 more of most of the parts, just in case I need them... -
Nice MOC. Cool biomechanical look to it. Kinda reminds me of the "jelly" alien ships from Mars Mission. (But in a good way)

LEGO story in today's Metro newspaper
brickmack replied to AmperZand's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Wow. I had seen this before, but never realized how big it was until I saw a picture next to the creator. I actually drooled a bit.... -
Nice review. The last one is my favorite, but the space ship looks nice also. Nice background you used for the first 2 sets, looks like a nice spot to mine. M:Tron is awesome.

I haven't seen anything where it specifically says it can be done, but there was a topic a few months ago where someone was asking for votes on some photo contest for a power company or some such thing, and it was never closed or complained about or anything. I would think it rather hypocritical to allow that topic to exist but deny this poster to get votes in a similar manner. Just saying .

Removing Minifig Heads stuck tight
brickmack replied to TeufelHund's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sometimes I use those rubber grip things used for removing stuck bottle caps, but you have to be careful not to rub off the printing. Sometimes with new sets the heads get stuck on, and the only way to be sure it doesn't happen is to slowly push the head down when you are first putting it on, while twisting it in alternating directions. Hot water won't melt LEGO, but I think it will make it brittle over time. -
Brilliant ADU mech. Lots of nice details, like the antistud on the side of the leg for the joint. Where is the yellow tube from though?
-
I've noticed that "Bird leg" crack in a lot of my bricks. As far as I can tell it doesn't go all the way through, and I haven't had too many (1 or two, and admittedly they had been stored in less-than-ideal conditions) break from it. The curved parts and the plates seem to break a lot also....

Picture Comment Challenge - Counting up the votes
brickmack replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Maellie Colombet - Jack to the zombies: "Who among you is the father of this fish? Worthy father, I admit, considering the sculptural scales of the offspring. Or married to a mermaid maybe? But please, spare me the image of this view, do not tell me that the Kraken was your partner..." - 3 points. Heh.. Very funny. -
Nice all over. Great use of those tan parts for the fighter wings. The red stripes look nice also. I notice some technic pin holes around the sides, are you planning to make ones to connect to this?

Now that sounds like a nice idea. Maybe miniature models of all the big sets released that year, and a PAB wall, and shelves covered in sets. Hopefully they don't replicate the horrible crowds at the real store around here. It'd be nice for minifigs, but might bring back bad memories.
