I think it is up to LEGO standards in that most of the sets have good designs and such, though I think it is only half way to meeting Space standards because (At least as I see it) it isn't really a Space theme. Only the aliens seem to have any kind of advanced space-faring tech, so it's only half of a space theme. Ignoring that though, I do think Alien Conquest is generally a magnificent theme, better than Mars Mission (which many have compared to it) (especially when the alien minifigures are compared).

Awesome vig, I love the Doctor Who figs. What hair is that on Amelia? River doesn't look quite right though. Good thing it's 200 years in the Doctor's personal timestream, meaning that he has the potential to survive (Though in the process creating a paradox that could rip a hole in the universe the size of Belgium (Or destroy it (Again))).

What's the best way to store minfigures?
brickmack replied to ziljin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Right now I store all of them in a big tub, and the disassembled parts in a sorting container. I keep the weapons in a separate container. Eventually I plan to organize all of my assembled minifigs by theme using baseplates, but so far I don't have enough large ones to do it properly. Plus then I would have the issue of deciding whether or not to put together the disassembled minifigs to put them on the baseplates, which would make MOCing rather difficult. -
"Hmmm. I guess no one heard me... I'll just go see what's going on.."Follows everyone out the door.

Koemus hears people nearby talking about what appears to be an army of Barbarians and Orcs. He gets up and walks over (Before Alexis even has a chance to say "hi" back). "What's this I hear about an army massing?"

OOC: I mentioned beer, I think the only beer drinking elf here is Alexis Fenral.

The door swings open, and a figure, wet from the storm, walks in. He walks over to the Orc bar maid, observing the various drunk, passed out or near-passed out people as he walks. "Green Lea Tea if you've got any." The Orc hands him a cup of tea, and walks to a nearby table where another of his kind, an Elven Ranger, is sitting. Upon closer examination, it appears she is drinking one of those disgusting Human beers, undoubtably the cause of the numerous passed-out bodies strewn throughout the room. However, Koemus hasn't been around another elf in months, and decides to say hi anyway. "Hi there. I'm Koemus."

Another beautiful MOC SI-Mocs. The docked ship in particular is great, and the comm tower or whatever on top of the station is a nice touch. Cool lighting also.

How open are you about your Lego passion?
brickmack replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My dad is sometimes like that, but not often. A few years ago he said "It's absolutely disgusting that adult would spend thousands of dollars on a kids toy". Oddly enough, he seems to sometimes think it's cool, and I've caught him building (albeit horribly designed, with no color coordination, and reminicent of the constructions of an average 4 year old) spaceships and such. -
Nope I want to choose if I put them on or not (I have a pile of about 50 sticker sheets somewhere awaiting MOCing)

This looks really fun, I might play it. I won't be able to create or photograph my character until next week though since I'm away from my LEGO, but I guess that gives me some time to observe a game or two I hope (Since I've never played any of the games in here, and want to make sure I fully understand the game mechanics and such before actually playing)

Elizabethan Privateer The Princess Ceinwyn
brickmack replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Pirate MOCs
Wow that's a beautiful MOC. In the first picture it looks like a proper model made of wood or something, not LEGO. Looks even better than in WIP. -
Incredible SP versions. The minifig scale ATAT looks great also, I hadn't seen it before.

Various Star Wars/old Star Trek ones, Doctor Who, XKCD, Ctrl-Alt-Del, Penny Arcade, LEGO Space, Tranquility Base, Legostar Galactica

Nice. I like the cockpit design (Are the things the pilot sits on actually connected to anything) but it looks kinda cramped. Based on the description it sounds like a TIE from Star Wars (small, fast, unshielded, lightly armed deathtraps).

And perhaps one with a carnivore eating someone I suppose LEGO probably wouldn't go for that though...

Oh I hope this is true... I want some raptors... Somewhat. Brontosaurus was actually made of like 5 different sets of bones I think. I don't remember the names of the other animals it was made from, but apatasaurus was one of them.

When I make them, I normally start at the bottom where the point is, and start making layers of slopes (With basic bricks inside for support) getting wider as you go up (I recommend starting with tall slopes at the bottom and short, long ones at the top). If you go with the non-inverted slopes, you will need some SNOT bricks or something to attach plates to the top so you can build stuff.

Interesting use of light. I like the dirty look of the zombie area. Don't want to think of the source of those arms...

My link Seems it's not actually LEGO, but still somewhat interesting.

Brilliant creation. The colors look great as does the greebling. Looks especially good with the lighting. Kinda disappointed by the lack of a brickbuilt base since that would have allowed for extra stuff there, but it's still great. Lots of LGMs also. Maintanence?
-
Interesting concept. Is it actually strong enough to hold anything, or just for show?

Great MOC 'TheBrickAvenger'. I don't think I've seen a steam UFO before, and the building looks nice. Cool story you wrote for it also.

Thanks. I'm trying BASEBRICK now.

What current sets are good to stock up pieces?
brickmack replied to youtoo's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The creator sets have a good PTP ratio, and so do the modular buildings. If your looking for new parts, most sets from new themes have at least a few new parts or rare colors or something. The Star Wars and some other licensed themes often have new parts and prints/stickers, but it's a much lower Price-piece ratio. The large scale sets (Taj Mahal, Tower Bridge, etc) also often have new parts or lots in hard to find colors for a good PTP ratio, but they are still quite expensive. If you want mainly basic bricks, those blue tubs and similar sets are good for that, and I think they normally have a great PTP.
