Awesome little M-Tron MOC. Nice usage of the magnet in the front, nice to have a little detail from the old sets M-Tron is kinda an overlooked theme unfortunately.

Something Wrong with my screen?
brickmack replied to Capt.JohnPaul's topic in Forum Information and Help
Ok really, is this a joke or not? I havn't seen any upside down stuff on other topics except this one, and if it isn't just in this topic, is it really a problem or just the admins playing tricks? (If the answer was given in one of the upside down things, I didn't read it because reading upside down gives me a headache after a while). Edit: OK it's showing up for me now. For some reason it wasn't displaying until a few minutes ago on other pages. -

4 points to 23/ Serpent Ruins by Siercon and Coral 3 points to 12/ Attack of the Dojo by lego-maniac Very hard choices. -
Fantastic part usage all over. Great design. I can't help but think though that that is a really odd place for the machine gun.
-
Yea the mixture of 1950s alien attack stuff and more modern type weapons for the humans (plus the odd but kinda cool color scheme) looks really good. I'll definitely get a few duplicates of most of these.

Cools armies. I need to get some more elves to make a village of them... Where did you manage to get so many spartans? I got like 30 bags and didn't manage to get a spartan until I found one for sale on ebay!

Very unstable. I can't tell for sure from the video, but it looks like it could be stabilized a lot more by putting a technic rod through the center of it and changing the design a bit right? LEGO really should have chosen a different building for this. To be honest, I don't see why people buy any of the architecture sets anyway. Even including the money they have to pay to the designers of the real buildings, around here most of these sets are 2 or 3 times more expensive than a set from another theme with a comparable amount of parts, and most of them have REALLY simple designs. Most of them don't have any particularly rare parts or colors either, other than the printed tile with the name of the building, so the parts could easily be taken out of most people's collections, or bought on bricklink. LEGO should have just put the instructions online for free I think. </rant>

Incredible. The curved walls, the water technique, the inside details, everything! Any pictures of the insides of those small buildings by the water?

When did your collection reach critical mass?
brickmack replied to Arigomi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Oh I wish I had your problems. I've only got about 90,000 parts (Well "only" compared to a combine collection of over a million), and every time I try to make something big, I know I might not have the parts to make it. Fortunately I just got a lot of new sets and parts, so I've got enough to work with for the next few months. -
More Lego to win in the raffle & one more week to go!

Sent my answers. I wonder what minifig is in there... -
Depends on the set. If its a really great one (Tower Bridge for example) I have no plans of taking it apart. Smaller ones like little City sets and stuff usually get taken apart within weeks. And some I never put together at all (Like most of the POTC sets I have so far).

...You dream of LEGO. ...You have minifigs of yourself and at least one member of your family. ...You subscribe to multiple unofficial LEGO magazines. ...Your collection grows so rapidly, the price of new storage supplies is included in a monthly budget. ...Your heartbeat increases a lot whenever going into a LEGO store or a store selling old LEGO. ...You wish you had a LEGO room because your bedroom is so filled with it that you don't have room for non-LEGO stuff. ...You are willing to spend hours looking online for individual parts you need for a MOC.

Not sure if people have posted these or not, I really don't feel like reading through the last 16 pages. Tiles, plates, and bricks that are 5 studs long. A part like the Travis brick, but with studs on all 6 sides. A part like the Travis brick, but with antistuds on the 4 sides where extra studs normally go Collectible minifig stands in other colours (and in normal sets). More cockpit canopies in uncommon colours (Trans-green, trans-yellow, trans-red, etc) Candles Holonomic wheels with Technic axle holes. Not a new part, but LEGO should also start making the old hinge parts (before the click hinges). They have a better range of movement, and seem to be a lot stronger also. This torso in all the colors of the Classic Space minifigs.

That thing is HUGE. Very detailed. I like those little planes. -
Not particularly new, I have flame parts from sets I got at least 6 months ago that don't have the stem thingies on the end. I like the new ones better myself, since the stems just got in the way, and I could never get the flames to connect together.

Tough decision, but I went with Pirates. It would have been Redcoats, except pirates get an equal share of the loot, but for the redcoats, the officers get paid more. Also I think redcoats probably have more fighting in the job, and that sounds kinda dangerous...

Cool. Lot's of good parts. I'll probably get about 10 of these if I can. I mainly want the sword holder, globe, and ships-in-bottles. SO cool!

Cool apartment. I like that half-finished statue in the back especially, but everything is

Almost all of the broken parts were from the 2008 BIONICLE sets, and weren't made in other sets I don't think, so LEGO probably doesn't have any left.
-
For double the price, wouldn't it have been easier and cheaper just to make it using parts you already have, and the ones you don't have/don't want to use just buy from bricklink or buy sets that contain them?
-
I used to get only SW sets but started getting other themes a few years ago. I decided that the sets weren't colorful enough for me. Usually now I only get SW sets for the parts (Though not all the time, some of them I actually got because I liked the design.) With the CW sets especially, I don't think the sets are particularly good, but LEGO certainly puts in some good parts (For the stuff I do at least). As far as going from strictly collecting to MOCing, I never really went through that. All of my early SW sets got broken down for parts usually within a few weeks/months of being finished, mostly because the fighters were good inspiration for me to start building my own stuff (Though my earliest stuff was absolutely terrible)
-
I kept hoping that with mine, but the ones that are broken of mine are damaged beyond any hope of usefulness. The ball joint parts have the socket completely shattered, and on some of them the areas around where technic pins can go in are cracked too. I guess I'll just have to throw them away...
-
Does anyone know where to take LEGO parts to be recycled? Do they have to be taken to a special place, or can they just be put in the bin with plastic bottles and stuff? I've been going through my collection and found about 40 broken parts so far (Mostly BIONICLE ) and figured it would be best to recycle them.

I've got the same problem. I haven't gotten around to doing it myself, but I recommend dividing them based on theme that they are from, and then from that point put them in order based on either set number or year of release. That should make the pile a bit more manageable, and then you can just stick each smaller pile in a box or something.

There are a few ways. One of the most common ways to identify such a person is if they are holding a few sets waiting in line to pay, and they suddenly look really nervous when the cashier sees them with LEGO. Also if the person goes into the LEGO aisle with their kids and picks out something before the kids even look at anything, then says it's all for the kids when he pays (but asks for the stuff he picked to be in a separate bag), then it's kinda obvious then.
