  1. Spanish, British, either Irish or Scottish (can't remember which), a TINY bit Native American (As in like 1 family member many generations back...)
  2. That would be wonderful. I think lego actually could make some money on this, AFOLs are around 20% of the market I think now, and there are probably a lot of kids that would buy such a set (of course, most of them would probably be close to being AFOLs themselves, but who cares? And since some of those colors are kinda rare, there would probably be AFOLs build several duplicates of it to sell on BL and such.
  3. "Thanks Haldor." *Drinks the potion and waits a few seconds for it to remove the effects of the poison* "Well, about 6 months ago I was kicked out of my village for suggesting to my father, who is one of the village leaders, that non-elven races are not necessarily inferior. This is a very strong belief among the older elves. I was given a bow and a few other supplies, and a mage teleported me to a small island nearby. over several weeks of traveling and fighting, I managed to make my way here. Perhaps if I can do some quests and help people, I may be able to remove some of the old elven prejudices." "Barmaid! A glass of water, and and some chicken if you have any, please." *Looks back over at Haldor* "So, what's your story?"
  4. Koemus wakes up, just outside the door to Heroica Hall. The last thing he remembers is walking out with some rangers to scout around what seemed to be a troll attack group. Judging by the sunburn covering all of his body, jis hunger, and the amount of his tea that had evaporated, he guessed he had been unconscious for nearly a month. As he struggled to stand up, he happened to smell the remains of his tea. There was a very distinct smell of poison in it. "Probably some Rouge trying to be funny", he muttered. He entered the Hall, and asked loudly (Well, as loudly as he could while still suffering effects from the poison), "Any healers around here? I've got quite a sunburn, and I think I've been poisoned"
  5. That would be awesome. I haven't played Warhammer, but it looks interesting. However, I doubt they would benefit from licensing with LEGO, because I imagine it would result in a sharp decline in sales of their own figures and such, they probably wouldn't make any more money.
  6. Well, I've never heard about CS having visors, but I imagine they would have looked similar to the visors used now on the modern version of the helmet.
  7. Yea I've gotten similar answers (nearly exact wording also) when I sent emails through the "contact us" section on the LEGO site. They probably just have a few dozen different answers pre-done that they can use. The end part about buildtogether.com sounds basically like an advertisement, I haven't had any of that in replies so far.
  8. Probably the suit. (Needs a pink tie though)
  9. Same here except no Futuron or Space Police, and I had Ice Planet. Nothing against Futuron, but I just don't like it as much as the other ones. And Space Police just ended the newest version of that, so I think it's too soon (and I didn't like SPIII as much, because the cops were being racist)
  10. Perhaps as a result of all the stuff with ending the universe and restarting it and all that, Torchwood and DW stuff no longer exist in the same universe? Or perhaps it's set a few weeks/months after present day, and Torchwood has managed to end the miracle. Or the Doctor is just thick. Just saw the new Miracle Day episodes, now I'm all sad again about Ianto. Saddest. Moment. Ever. (In TW)
  11. Some interesting ideas so far. I came up with another one: A museum modular. One in light grey mostly on the outside, and various colors of the walls inside depending on whats in each area (Using tiles covering the walls inside, like with the painter in the Pet Shop set). Since museums are rather large, it would have to be 2-2.5 times the size of a normal modular set, which I estimate comes out to about 4500-5500 parts. Certainly not an IMPOSSIBLE size.
  12. I just love this one. Lots of good details, like the "pizzeria" sign and clock. The way the roofs are done looks great also, with the multicolored cheese slopes. Whats the tan building next door supposed to be?
  13. Heh. What exactly would be motorized on it though?
  14. Doctor Who (The opening sequence from the Tennant era, the new one is good but not AS good), Star Trek TNG and Enterprise all have great opening sequences.
  15. Ya I didn't much like the idea of Martha marrying Micky (or is it Ricky, I can't keep that straight since the parallel universe stuff), did they ever even meet before that on-screen? Also, Rory is awesome, though kinda scary when he goes insane from House messing with the TARDIS internal timestream.
  16. Same here. A few hours ago I filled up my entire drawer (which is like 2.5x1.5x0.8 feet big) and also my overflow bucket for basic bricks. I'm going to have to start sorting by type of brick soon for the basic parts.
  17. Nice. I might have to borrow that. I like the "carpet" addition.
  18. One of my main frustrations is the play features in recent sets. Some are pretty cool but others just seem stupid (Sound bricks) and cost extra money for parts I don't even want, plus many of them take up space in the set that could be used for adding in more detail. Another thing I don't like is sorting. I get all my parts PERFECTLY organized (clip parts for example), and then this year LEGO goes and releases like 5 new clip parts and I don't have room in my current system for them, so now I have to come up with a new system, get the new containers I will need for that, and shift my entire sorting setup around, while I still have a 20 pound bucket of parts not sorted, just because I stupidly didn't think to add extra sorting space in.
  19. Too many exploration themes? Other than Mars Mission (The astronauts INTENDED to explore but still ended up igniting a war) and City Space (Not really a proper space theme though) I can't think of any exploration themes in the last few years, LOM was the last. I think we need to have something without any enemies so they can focus on exploration (Or mining or moonbases or something else peaceful). The LEGO universe seems to be a horrible place to live sometimes (especially in SPIII, with the police arresting and probably killing aliens just because they are aliens, and the only reason they turn to crime is because they are not accepted by humanity.
  20. So if you could choose any one set for LEGO to make, and parts amount/cost/number of new parts or colors required didn't matter, what would it be? Personally I'd say some sort of massive castle set (Massive meaning a child could fit inside with room to spare). Obviously this would be completely impossible, as the box would be the size of a fridge and it would probably be about the same cost as a car, but it would certainly be a great set.
  21. Definitely an enabler, I've even given small MOCs as birthday and christmas presents to friends in the hope they get some sets. I must admit though, in the back of my mind I'm hoping they decide they don't like LEGO (after they get a few sets) and let me have them free or cheaply .
  22. I mostly make scifi stuff, so there tends to be a lot of comic books and movies and stuff that have star fighters and mecha and whatnot. I normally don't build stuff exactly like what the inspiration was, but it's often based on it. For example, I've been working on a ship that looks a tiny bit like the UNSC ship from the first halo game, but then I changed the body shape and bridge and engines. Sometimes I also take an official set (Or a MOC that I've figured out how to build/found instructions for) and strip off all the outside bits and start modifying it, eventually changing it to the point where it is almost unrecognizable as the original. It wasn't really meant as a challenge (More an annoying problem of odd family relations) but my collection is currently split between 3 different houses, so most of the time I'm limited to the parts I have at each place. This has resulted in me finding multiple parts that can be used for most purposes. Obviously it can get a bit annoying a lot, but I prefer to look on the bright side: I come up with new parts combinations, and I live at the house with 3/4 of my collection.
  23. Though I haven't ever met anyone nearly as "addicted" as the person described in the first post (Thousands of dollars of unopened sets sitting around while the kids are in bad clothes, etc) but I suppose there are some people that may be negatively affected by it. Fortunately for me it hasn't had any major bad effects (And I'm less bored). I always find when I worry about that stuff it helps to compare it to less healthy hobbies/addictions like drinking or smoking (Smoking is a particularly good example since it costs so much and eventually will kill you, and I've met people that literally spent over a thousand dollars in a month on smoking and drinking, roughly 9 times what I spend in an average month on LEGO and related things (not counting when I go to LEGO conventions and the occasional trip to the LEGO store of course... )
  24. I'm not QUITE an adult yet (Though getting quite close it seems) I do still play with my LEGO sometimes. Spaceship swooshing, the occasional battle ending in smashed ships , that sort of stuff. I do still sometimes make things just for display though. My thought is that my ability to actually play (which among people my own age seems to be very rare) stems from my very odd childhood: As soon as school started (Around age 7 for me) I pretty much focused completely on school, with no time for play or social activities. This lasted for about 2 and a half years, during which I studied the subjects in class and then studied the high school and collage stuff that interested me, and then in about 3rd grade I got bored (ran out of stuff to read) and a few years later started catching up on playing and stuff. I think that massive gap caused some sort of odd difference from the normal pattern, which as best as I can tell, would have had me stop "playing" by about 5th grade. At least that's my best theory so far...
  25. So, a few months ago I got a big bag of random parts from eBay, and only a few weeks ago I got to start looking through it. Except for being a bit dirty, all of the pats were in good condition, except for one part. A single 1x2 light blue tile was discoloured, but in a very strange way that I haven't seen before: only the short ends were yellowed. The rest of the part was it's normal light blue colour, nearly indistinguishable from any other of the same type. All of the parts were disassembled so I couldn't be sure if it's from touching another part, but I haven't seen any colour issues on any other parts in the bag. Any ideas what could have caused this? (Unfortunately my camera isn't working at the moment, so I can't supply pictures, sorry)
