  1. OP is talking about the model being inspired by the Tartakovsky animated series from 2003. The MOC itself is obviously newer, as many of the pieces didn't exist back in 03 and it looks like a remodeled 75021
  2. well, now I know what I'm building next.. Thanks for the free instructions!
  3. Holy crap, that looks insanely awesome, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be stable when built IRL. Still one of the best models I've ever seen on this site.
  4. what kind of material do you guys print these onto? and if it's the glossy paper used by original Lego stickers, where do you guys buy that?
  5. Great model! how's the stability looking on this one? I am not satisfied with any Lego X-Wing so far, the one with Biggs from 2018 or 2019 was quite good but the compromises with the engines in order to integrate the rubber bands bring it down for me. Wih the newest one, I was happy at first that they made a new mechanism without the rubber bands, but it's not a pretty model, feels very "loose" for lack of a better word, and the worst thing is the unfixable gap between the wings. I know the hexagonal fuselage shape doesn't gel well with Lego without compromises and gaps, but I'm willing to sacrifice a little bit of screen accuracy if, in turn, the model doesn't fall apart when I pick it up
  6. I use the head of Simon Masrani from Jurassic World for my Jango minfig https://brickset.com/parts/6279106/mini-head-no-3017 I know it's not perfect but it's good enough for me, maybe you like it as well.
  7. Thanks! :) Thank you! Mirax is a Corellian smuggler who first appears in the X-Wing novels, also shows up in the X-Wing comics and later in The New Jedi Order. Wes Janson is from the movies (Wedge's snowspeeder tailgunner in Episode V) but he gained most of his popularity via his appearances in the same material that Mirax appears in. Here's my take on Wedge: Wedge Antilles (civilian clothes) by Ephseb
  8. Hey everyone; after a long hiatus, I'm back again with some old and newer purist custom figures from the 'Legends' canon. I hope you like them! Mirax Terrik Wes Janson (civilian clothes) Gilad Pellaeon (25 ABY-) Darth Sidious (Dark Empire) - with Lightsaber The Reborn Emperor figure is based on the following 2 images: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/b/b2/Palps_Reborn-TEA.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20090820060321 https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/a/ae/PalpcloneLukeSkywalker-Hasbro.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20100811191409 I tried several attachments to spice up this figure but none felt right to me. Still, one good thing came of it: I finally thought up a headcanon as to what division these "Geonosis" Troopers are a part of: In "Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader" by James Luceno, the Commander of this Unit: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/32nd_Air_Combat_Wing is said to have rust-brown markings on his armor. I thought, why not have the regular troopers wear brown-ish camo? Also, it being an Air Combat Wing, the inclusion of Airborne Troopers would make sense.
  9. Sorry mate, but that's not correct. It's a General, as you can see here with General Paltr Carvin, Maximilian Veers and especially General Baron Soontir Fel. An Admiral's insignia has six blue and six red squares, e.g.: Fleet Admiral Gilad Pellaeon and Admiral Firmus Piett. I wish Lego would produce more Imp officers though. Oh, and if the Rank Insignias confuse you (or anyone here), I recommend getting the SW Essential Guide to Warfare by Jason Fry, it has a complete table of different Imperial IDs.
  10. Hi everyone, I'm back with some new old creations! Those are models that I built between 2008 and 2011 and which have now been disassembled. This is my Midi-scale model of the Acclamator-class assault transport seen in Attack of the Clones, the outstanding Dark Horse "Star Wars: Republic" comics, the 2003 Tartarovsky Clone Wars cartoon, the 2008 Filoni Wars cartoon, and the videogame Empire at War. I built this when I was 13 or 14 years old, so please don't be too harsh on me, I like to think I've improved since then. Same scale as this one, but much stronger in-universe...
  11. great work, it looks outstanding! Fractalsponge's rendered models are among the best SW fan works out there. No wonder he was hired for the EGTW.
  12. Hello everyone, I'm finally back with a new model! This is was built on impulse from all the medium-light-nougat-brown (?) pieces I had lying around. It's a Yorik-Et, the main starfighter of the Yuuzhan Vong Empire. All biological data can be found here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Yorik-Et You can find more pictures on my flickr page. I'll add some with better lighting this upcoming weekend. Yorik-Et - main by Ephseb, auf Flickr Yorik-Et - w/ pilot by Ephseb, auf Flickr If you're wondering why the MOCs I posted on EB so far were all of a not-really-high quality, the answer is rather simple: I'm saving my best models for upcoming contests Hopefully it will pay off... In the meantime, look out for my next post - a medium-scale Victory-class star destroyer.
  13. HQ pictures of Amy Holdo (I think that was her name) are up on that one website-that-must-not-be named. Interestingly, she doesn't have a rank badge despite being a Vice Admiral. But at least it increases the torso's re-useability.
  14. People have been saying that it's this guy: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Taslin_Brance I only really want 2 Imperial Generals in oder to make Soontir Fel and Paltr Carvin purist customs.
  15. I'm very happy I got mine at the SCS when Felix Stiessen was there to sign the boxes. Never expected him to be that young. Amazingly talented.
  16. aaand my hiatus caused me to initially miss the Episode 8 set leaks.. Ok, so: The new AT-AT type walker is laughable, whoever came up with that for the movie should be fired. It's not Lego's fault of course. The Resurgent-class BC is nothing special IMO, but if you care about the new trilogy, I guess it's cool. To no one's surprise, Snoke'll be the main pull. The "Bomber" was shown in the trailer and should be about 70-100 meters long, so it's smaller than a CR90, and barely a capital ship. Really weird choice, and an unfitting name. Biggest mistake besides killing Luke's Academy was the nuking of the Republic fleet, so we'll probably never see great designs like MC90s, Nebula-class star destroyers, Endurance carriers, Majestic cruisers, Corona frigates etc. on screen. Anyway, it's the only set I'm interested in because of a good amount of parts I need for MOCs and two(!) female minifigures. I hope Holdo doesn't have pink eyebrows, so her head can be used elsewhere. As for the UCS Falcon, I never planned on getting it anyway. Even if I had the money, I don't have any spare room to display it.
  17. In my opinion, New Jedi Order was the pinnacle of Star Wars storytelling. It went against audience expectations and the classic fairy-tale frame that almost everyone seems to crave, so it's extremely unpopular among those who haven't even read it (or read only the first book). So sad the Legends timeline went to sh*t after Unifying Force. I will always love the last chapter of that book and I consider it to be the perfect ending for the Star Wars saga. If you ever get around to reading it, you'll know what I mean.
  18. You should! I love Scoundrels, Allegiance and Choices of One! If you haven't spoiled yourself the ending of the first and last of the three, definitely give 'em a try. Shadows of the Empire (the book) wasn't on that level of quality IMO. Also, Crispin's Han Solo trilogy is amazing and has loads of easter eggs. (several characters created by Zahn and Stackpole pop up)
  19. While I don't revere SOTE as much as everyone else, I love the StarViper. As far as I remember, Xizor didn't even do anything with the Virago, at least in the novel. The model is outstanding. Congrats, Moppo!
  20. Here ya go This was my plan from the beginning, when I first saw the Thrawn preliminaries. Let me know if you like my custom SW Legends minifigs I've posted on flickr. Don't know if those count as updated, but I've seen other customs like Daala and Pellaeon in this thread. I'm assuming EU is fair game on here? Major Namada from the "Star Wars: Purge" comics Wes Janson from the X-Wing comics and books Mirax Terrik from the X-Wing comics and books Admiral Drayson from the Black Fleet Trilogy
  21. Ok sorry, checked back with Wookieepedia and you're right on that. So it's only the Quadjumper that's unnecessary ;P Anyway, if the prices are reasonable, it'll be ok for the target audience. And good for the aftermarket price of 70-year-old Han Solo. Completely agree with Magma on this one. a) Dengar just appeared this year, so I don't get why he's now in a battlepack. b) Aliens in all shapes / colors are needed to mix up our galaxy. I'm sure everyone would want Bothans (Fey'lya), Gotal, Twi'leks etc.
  22. My thoughts on the 2017 sets: Winter wave: Will get both Battle Packs (2 Rebels, at least 4 Imperials) Y-Wing is awesome, though I'd have preferred the rumored Imperial Navy Officer over Moroff - but I get that he's probably the main selling point. Yoda's SF is a comparatively cheap source for the TIE windshield and has some useful dark green parts The Phantom is ok but the wrong rank insignia on Thrawn is really disappointing, especially at that price Scarif should be ok at a discount, it's not worth more than 35€ IMO I own both the Landspeeder and Desert Skiff already, so no need for them; similar situation with the Naboo Duel, I have all the figures and can build the rest myself. A-Wing looks really good but way overpriced - will be looking out for it to go on sale. not really digging the Microfighters, in the previous years I liked at least 2 of them - if only the rumor about an actual Navy Officer (Krennic's shuttle) had turned out to be true... Summer wave: No use for the FO battle pack, but it'll be fantastic for those who like Episode 7 Bounty Hunter battle pack seems unrealistic to me - why would they put highly-sought-after figures in such a cheap set? doesn't make sense and I hope it's a false rumor. I'd love an Episode II or III clones battle pack, or one for the Separatists (Geonosis!). No interest in the Freemakers, but they may be a good source for minifig parts when they go on sale for half the original price. Rathtars and Quadjumper are both ok I guess, but even for those who care about the new canon, I want to ask you - do you think these sets are needed at all? You could probably build both of them yourselves (with the Dr. Strange set for example), and you could get the figures in the 2015 Falcon. Obi-Wan's Delta-7 is overdue for an update, but I'm satisfied with the custom version someone posted here on EB some time ago, it looks excellent. Also, I was lucky enough to get young Boba when he was in the Advent Calendar. Now for the great stuff: I will definitely get the Vader Transformation for Sidious and Vader, the newest versions I have of these figures are from 2009 and 2010 respectively. And: the TX-130! Now that's a pleasant surprise! while I have the old TCW one, I can't pass up on Aayla and Bly and I hope the tank's design is adequate. Really wish they'd include more clones and less battle droids though. So that's it for now, I hope I can keep the strain on my wallet low, with my birthday being in mid-January and a big sale taking place at a local supermarket each year at the end of February. All in all, it looks like a well-balanced year. :)
  23. Glad you like it Aland! Thanks a lot Kamal! I'll use this in my next MOC post.
  24. it's an awesome model! I'm building it myself now, using your instructions on Youtube, only the OT version instead of the TFA one. Now I have to re-stack on grey tiles, slopes and plates.
  25. I know, it isn't the most impressive TIE design, but I wanted to build / own all of the important TIE variants (Standard, Bomber, Advanced, Interceptor, Scimitar [MOC will follow soon!], Defender, Phantom and possibly Avenger)
