  1. [spoilers for the X-Wing series and Courtship of Princes Leia] The TIE Raptor or TIE/rpt was a starfighter design used by Warlord Zsinj's Empire during his reign from the Battle of Endor until his final defeat at the hands of the Hapan Royal Navy. A fast and manouverable design, it was not a regular SFS product like other TIE models, but was produced from Sienar components at the shipyards of Zsinj's hideout - Rancor Base - over Dathomir. Raptors are known to have participated in the battles of Vahaba and Selaggis, and were most likely used in many other missions and engagements, since Zsinj's elite troopers (also named Raptors) used them for space combat. The TIE/rpt was equipped with 4 laser cannons and 2 concussion missile launchers, but like most TIE models, lacked shielding, though some prototypes were produced. I admit my design is far from perfect, but I hope you still enjoy seeing my take on the Raptor. Pictures can be found on my Flickr page: Technical data and history of the TIE Raptor: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/TIE/rpt_starfighter You can learn more about Zsinj here: http://www.starwars.com/news/the-imperial-warlords-despoilers-of-an-empire-part-1 http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Zsinj
  2. Looks good! I tried building my own once, but failed miserably. Will probably take inspiration from yours and try it again sometime.
  3. I will see what I can do and if I can find a reasonably priced Final Duel Luke head, because I have all of them except that one and the one with many lines. On another note, since I saw the Dr. Strange set pictures a few weeks ago I'm excited that we'll finally get a great head to create Soontir Fel!
  4. Thanks for the suggestions! The Luke head looks really good, although I initially planned to get it and use it for Mid-40s-Luke (NJO). Now I don't know which head to use for either version of Luke (OT/NJO). I accidentally linked to a picture of Hobbie instead of Tycho, since I wanted to ask about both of them. Anyway, I'm always looking around for new minifig pieces to expand my SWEU palette.
  5. What a beauty. Outstanding work mate, congrats.
  6. Hey guys, I seem to be late to the party, but this thread is a great opportunity to exchange ideas. I really like all the different updates that all of you presented. You can check out some updated and some (purist) custom minifigures I made on Flickr: Here's my version of Mon Mothma: https://www.flickr.c...57662218575634/ I would appreciate it immensely if anyone has suggestions on what heads to use for Wedge (http://vignette1.wik...=20100125190438) and Tycho (http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/c/c2/Tycho_Endor.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20150616033024) when they're not in the cockpit.
  7. And here's my entry: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=133704
  8. In the fantastic novel Rebel Dawn by A. C. Crispin, we get to witness the reason for Han's dislike of the Rebel Alliance. His lover Bria Tharen, leader of the Corellian rebel cell "Red Hand Squadron", turns on him and his companions Chewbacca and Lando after looting the treasure chamber of the T'landa Til priests on the Hutt-controlled world of Ylesia. High Priest Teroenza is murdered by Boba Fett by order of Durga Besadii Tai, who had learned of the former's betrayal. The smugglers are not paid for their help during the previous battle against Teroenza's minions, as they were promised. Instead, the Red Hand confiscates all the spice and other valuables in order to finance the Rebellion. The dead Rodian and Weequay were members of the Nova Force, a mercenary company employed by the Besadii Hutt clan to defend Ylesia against raids. Their anti-infantry cannon can be seen in one of the corners, taken out by a grenade, which damaged and charred the pavement and surrounding area. The partly-visible building is Teroenza's treasure chamber; the landing ramp is part of a small freighter which will transport the Rebels and their bounty to their flagship in orbit, the Liberator-class carrier Liberator. 9. Nobody noticed the Quasar Fire-class bulk cruiser?! -> Still, it won't change my opinion on the show itself... on another note, is there any reason why the January sets are late in the US? Here, they were available 3 days before the Episode 7 premiere.
  10. I like your model, but I was never a fan of the split-engines. Glad they're not in the Legends continuity. While I've been thinking about updating 9394 into a T-65 XJA3, sadly there aren't any high-res pictures anywhere (even EGTW only has them in the background)
  11. "I wouldn't have made much of a smuggler if you knew my freighter from any other. But I was offended that you didn't recognize my voice on the comm" I like this more than any official version released so far. Impressive work!
  12. Looking forward to do some (purist) minifig customisation with this one and the "Resistance" BP. They're the only sets from the new movie so far that I'm interested in.
  13. I love Wes Janson, the greatest prankster of the New Republic, as much as the next guy, but will we finally get a new Wedge? I think it would make sense for both of them to be available next year, since they were in the same T-47 speeder.
  14. I went to TRU last friday and asked whether they had the 3PO polybag giveaway. "Only in Germany" was the short and rather unfriendly reply from one of the cashiers. What they had were Stormtrooper Sergeants for 5€ each - a complete waste of money IMO. Still, I was lucky enough to grab the last available Defender Corvette form 2013 at a discount of 15%.
  15. six and a half billion years after I said I'd upload instructions, you can now find the first 2 parts on my flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/133484576@N06/albums
  16. okay....so the pics are here, and I'm not really surprised. The new models look pretty bland and the "old" ones (TIE, X-Wing, especially Falcon) have only changed slightly, so you could modify the existing versions instead of buying the new ones. Practically the only thing I'm interested in are the new hair pieces, heads, torsos and legs for the civilian minifigures like Han, Not-Jaina, Finn and the Rebel soldiers. I will probably be getting some of those on Bricklink next year. Anyway, as stated before these sets are ridiculously overpriced in Europe. The positive aspect of not wanting them is that I can save money for the Tydirium, the Final Duel and the Modular Detective Building.
  17. Instructions for wingtips and engines coming up on flickr tomorrow! I'll put another link here when they're up.
  18. I guess this round goes to you! Fantastic job on the Howlrunner, although it really isn't the prettiest starfighter around
  19. Wow, this is really, really good Naugem!
  20. Thanks for the heads up!
  21. I need this, it looks gorgeous! Luckily, I have the old one from 2002, so I only have to order all the other pieces....
  22. I may make (and link to) another album next week, where I'll show how I approached the construction of the wings and engines.
  23. SO here are my first impressions: - can't say anything on Episode 7: TFA sets, will decide based on re-useability of the parts and minifigs. - Hoth Battle: Who wants to bet they'll put Wes Janson in the Echo Base and Wedge Antilles in this one? (I don't think this and the Echo Base are the same set) Apart from that, I hope for a battle-pack-sized set that includes Alliance pilots, I need more of those. (Tycho! Hobbie!) - Bespin: Whooo! we've all been waiting for this. Depending on the size of the set, I'm guessing the minifigures are: Lando, Boba, Han, Leia, Ugnauht, Vader and a Stormtrooper. - Droid Escape Pod: don't really care about that, have the previous one. I'd get it on sale though, if the figures and pieces are interesting. - Obi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor: Okay, who is with me that - if it's the blue one - it'll have Tion Medon and Cody as an incentive to buy it? I don't need the red one, I've already built it myself. - Microfighters: AT-DP - nope; The Ghost - if it has the Twi'lek, I'll get it.; TIE Advanced - nope; Wookiee Gunship - yes please, cheap Wookiees for everyone! (Lowbacca!) - Battlefront Battle Packs: Really depends on what they contain. I hope for more aliens and females, as well as more variety with the male faces. (seriously, I own the head of that Endor soldier in the Tydirium 7 or 8 times) Summary: I'll get definitely pick up Bespin and Wookiee microfighter. As for everything else, I have to see the pictures to know if they're of any use to me.
  24. Thanks! (again) the funny thing is, I haven't read the Callista- and Jedi Academy trilogies. I stumbled across the illustration once and was intrigued, so I looked it up on WP. Opinion on those books seems pretty divided. When I read the summaries, it turned out any relevant events were mentioned in NJO, so I apparently didn't miss anything.
