  1. Watching the movies does make me want to buy lego sets. I had budgeted myself how much I was going to spend this year on lego then the Ewok Village was introduced. I was skeptial about getting it given the price but then I decided to watch episode six to compare the details between the movie version and the lego set and it hooked me. Now im definitely buying that set and the same can be said for the sail barge too.
  2. Very nice moc indeed . I like the foilage and the water.
  3. I think they will have a new super hero set at comic con since the ewok village was already revealed. Hopefully it will be the x-men stealth jet.
  4. I like the removable wall technique.
  5. I like the stone work look to the building on the sides and the floor inside. Very lovely building indeed. How did you get that bhalf of the planet to stick on the top to form a dome....that is a nice touch by the way.
  6. Im not into technic but this is truley amazing. Great job you clearly are a master.
  7. I finally got my pic-a-brick order today after two weeks and started building the cafe corner. I began at four in the evening non-stop till twelve lastnight. Then went to bed and got up at three to get ready for work. I only got three hours of sleep but it was fun building the cafe corner. Now i own every modular except for the market street. Trying to keep myself awake right now from caffine from a can of coke.
  8. I do notice a trend in the recent modular buildings. They seem to be taking a page from the town plan center set. In that set we had a town hall and a cinema both of which we got in the last two modulars. The third building from that set was a service station , but i dont see how that can quite fit into a modular building.
  9. After watching the video I can see that this is really, really huge and I like the fact that it can be broken up into pieces for easy transport. I just hope that next year we get Rome`s Amphitheater.
  10. I better start saving up my vip points for this baby. I absolutely love it especially all the tan bricks and the large blue baseplate. Thanks GRogall for the pics.
  11. That croc hideout is very underwhelming. I was expecting more croc minifigures instead of just 3 for a set this size and the croc head looks more like a snake to me when the mouth is closed.
  12. I ordered $180 wort in bricks from pick-a-brick from lego shop.com , the springtime scene and one series 10 minifigure and it arrived today with yet another legends of chima starter pack. This will be my second free one that I have gotten. Dont get me wrong I always welcome anything free especially with I get additional lion and wolf (which I dint have since I didnt get the wolf vehicle set) as well as the tree pieces in this starter pack, but lego seem to be really pushing this chima stuff down our throats. Better advertising such as more cartoon episodes would of been better than giving away free sets and expecting the theme to be loved.
  13. It seems that this castle theme was a bit rushed ........They are just a rehash of the kingdoms and previous castle themes. Given that Lord of the Rings sets are currently available it would of been much wiser to put this theme on hold till a later date. A vikings theme would of been a much better choice given that it has been a long time since we got one and wouldnt clash too much with the Lord of the rings sets. After much thought and looking at the reviews out there I still think that the forest ambush/battle pack is the best of of the line and really packs a punch for the price.
  14. Very nice but reminds me of something from the Atlantis theme. It is suppose to represent a grasshopper?
  15. I noticed that in one of the rooms that leia is in there is a black tile piece with a sticker to represent a book or chart of some sort. Any ideas on what the sticker could be? Plans for the Death Star or the Bunker perhaps. As for the rumors of this set replacing the Death Star I find unfounded. The Death Star is a much bigger set than the Ewok Village, has a lot more playability and features and is a set I dont see Lego doing a remake off. Its lengthy stay on Lego`s website reflects the increase interest as well as increase sales in this set. Despite the higher price point it appeals to all. Like mentioned previously in this thread i dont see alot of kids wanting the Ewok village or non-star wars fans when there are other exclusives of similar or higher prices that will be available one example being the Lord of the Rings set. Now if the Ewok Village was to comprise an At-st, fire work functions such as a light up brick as depicted in the ending of episode VI, Wedge and Lando, the force ghosts even if they were transparent bricks with stickers like the emperor in the imperial shuttle and an imperial landing craft so you have that added playability with Luke arriving on endor at the ending of the movie or the team landing during the beginning then i would say that the set will be worthy or replacing the Death Star. It is those additional features that are lacking in this set which doesnt have it on par with the Death Star. Despite this the Ewok Village i believe will be here for a long time as long as sales look promising.
  16. Just an amazing set I am definitely picking up two of these , however i do have 2 cons though. I wish leia had printed legs instead of that paper thing on her waist, also I hoped we would of gotten an at-st too given the price point and lastly I was hopping for the trees to be a bit taller.
  17. The castle has grown on me after seeing the review, but I have 2 problems with it. The first being the string used to hold the drawbridge. It just doesnt look right and it hangs down too much when the bridge is down. I would of rather lego stuck to the chains used in the kingdoms castle which looks more realistic as well. Secondly i wonder why the back of the king's tower has that much detail given that it faces the back of the castle. A better solution would of to have the details to the front.
  18. I believe thats the link your talking about
  19. Its missing a stairs to have access to the upper floors.
  20. This advent calendar is definitely better that the last one and some previous ones as well. I like that they included the new santa since i missed out on getting one with that particular minifigure series and the dalmatian so i dont have to buy the fire station to get that. The micro toy builds are nice and i can always use a table and bench for my buildings. The astronaut and the octane driver do seem odd but are ok. I do wish part of the set could of build the small building shown on the box cover. This will be my first advent calendar.
  21. It seems that you have to do quite a bit of skill full maneuvering to go to your bed and else where in that room. I would suggest wall mounted shelves since the room is small. If possible i would suggest moving out that double decker bed since you sleep on the other one and putting a table there so that you can build.
  22. Great review and the set still looks good without the stickers.
  23. From these better pics the dragon mountain set looks lack luster. I wish it had a mountain look with a bigger house structure. The only selling point of this set is the dragon. This will be a pass for me.
  24. The armor pieces makes zod look like cobra commander.
  25. Given that this town set was in the same diorama as the gas station is it a possibility that the gas station can be a late summer release? The statue is a nice touch but if feels out of place without a baseplate to make it the center piece of this town. Maybe some potted plants or flowers with a bench around the statue would of given this set that town center feeling. Despite that its a good change in the usual city line up. speaking of that the sidewalks of the pizza shop and bike shop dont really line up that well since the bike shop's sidewalk is a lot wider. I must say though that lego was spot on in including 8 minifigures. A driver for the sweeper, bus and crane, a worker for both shops; which leaves 3 minifigures to do various activities. I would of rather another minifigure than the dog though.
