  1. The concept of a FabLab is a good option for those that don't have a direct access 3D printer.
  2. very nice Barduck!!! I recently finished my postal wagon, but stick more to LEGO (Santa Fe) length. Looks impressive indeed!
  3. Very interesting!!! LEGO should be very alert ;)
  4. well, what can I say other than: you did a great job! from a relatively small set into a whole scene!!!
  5. Some Dutch LEGO fan captured the recent Dutch skating success in LEGO with our national hero Sven Kramer and his coach. Too bad only the Dutch king / wife / prime-minister move from the public, but he of course also use quite some figs.
  6. :) indeed, but it is nice of LEGO though to put train parts in police sets, makes them less scarce.
  7. Well, according to bricklink the Police Force set has them in Dark Bluish Gray
  8. I prefer a 6 wide base with up to 8 studs maximum overhang. @Tony, that looks very reasonable indeed, although I also like the 4 wide trucks of the eighties very much.
  9. Nice design! Looks like you also got some inspiration from model railroad enthusiasts :) @Spitfire2865, I agree, but it is even better to make a reversing loop imho.
  10. Thanks for the update Dave!!!
  11. Nice works, maybe add some gear protection though!
  12. Why would't they run on plastic track? LEGO wheels do also run on plastic track of course. The BBB wheels don't have rubber bands, but in case of not enough traction you could mod them!
  13. I already so it at 1000steine... But: it is very, very nice. I like your construction of wires. I will use some of your idea's in my construction too I think, I already did some experiments with (nylon) threads, but this is even better. it keeps the crossing itself very clean, that is what I like best! The speed also turnout very well. B.t.w. the contra weight is that for a point? Or were they also used for level crossings.
  14. Great job Carl!!! looks very nice and nice functions too!
  15. Looks very nice, just like the real thing indeed!
  16. Welcome to Eurobricks James, we will then look forward to see your work in the Train Tech Forum ;)
  17. Hi Liz welcome to eurobricks!!!
  18. Nice work! Looks very nice. I would consider it a MOC though since it is quite different from the original version.
  19. @russianmaffia: Welcome to Eurobricks, seems we have another Train Fan on board, why don't you introduce yourself in another topic in Train Tech to share what you are up to with LEGO trains! @Chomeknight: nice images indeed! I guess LEGO decided to finally allow images at Nürnberg?!
  20. It could have been worse! The diesel loc is very ok and after all the passenger train is not as bad as I expected from just the nose.
  21. Very nice job! Suggestion: Next step might be to hide the sensors as much as possible :)
  22. Nice job! It reflects the position of the Forestman in the LEGO World I think very well.
  23. I would recommend hot glue, it is almost completely reversible without leaving a lot of traces.
  24. That is possible indeed. The best way is to isolate the sections, so that you can also make some adjustments. It would be a good idea to put a signal in the in-between section. Also check the principle of a reversing loop: the two by two front / back pickups might be an issue and you can avert that using this construction: http://members.home.nl/john.hielema/train_depot/reverse2.htm
  25. you can isolate two track sections, but adding two transformers to the same track isn't a problem actually. compare it to putting two batteries parallel, you will just get more amperage, no more voltage (don't put them in series though, then you will get 12 + 12 = 24 V). Extra wires is of course also an option, this helps because the middle rail gives some resistance.
