  1. @dr_spock, did you notice the CN truck in that French film?? I have never seen a CN truck in Europe but they apparently do exist overseas.
  2. Well, you could also join our reviewers academy of course!?
  3. but I made an LDD model from that book and then built the train afterwards: http://ministickers....nionPacific.lxf
  4. I have the book, but don't have a scan unfortunately, I could make a scan of course, but it will cost some time and of course it is tricky because of the copyrights etc.
  5. LEGOLand Germany is in Günzburg so the other side of the country... Recently they opened a LEGO Discovery center in Oberhausen though. What Faefrost told about the LEGO stores is also the case for Oberhausen.
  6. https://www.sparkfun.../products/11114 http://www.pjrc.com/store/teensy3.html DX or Aliexpress might have the first one cheaper (but then as clones)
  7. It is not that Arduino is cheaper, but it is much smaller and much more versatile (not the UNO but the pro mini / Teensy / etc.) I also have a whole bunch of those from my high school (we switched to NXT / EV3).
  8. I understand, but it is much easier to put a non-LEGO controller like an Arduino of some kind inside and then keep it in synch with the others (including the RCX systems).
  9. maybe you should contact the Railbricks crew? They might have his contact information.
  10. I like the idea, but I think it is not very easy to finish it. It is better to use a more simple controller in your train and make an external controller that controls the actual train.
  11. I was talking about the white bar (part Clamp 1x2 2432)
  12. very nice steinkopf!!!! is that white thing a mailbag pickup construction?!
  13. They do exist though: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=11304&colorID=5
  14. Nice work Chorduroy! Maybe those small minifig neck parts will let the frontlights look even better
  15. Well a Roland VersaUV can do it: http://www.rolanddga.com/resources/images/pr/2013/sgia/Roland_VersaUV_LEF-20_Benchtop_UV_Flatbed_Printer.jpg Twice the price of our Roland Versacamm unfortunately!
  16. Check also this topic: Garden Railway
  17. MkII? That sounds like an AVR programmer to me ;)
  18. That is the advantage of vinyl over decals of course!
  19. Thanks for sharing this edsmith! With decals / stickers a train looks much better.
  20. nice build! you did a great job on the details as well!
  21. Welcome BimmerBoy, a good start at EB.com to start in Train Tech ;)
  22. It was made by Werkspoor, a very reliable company that was bankrupted in 1972.
  23. With a picture from LEGOWorld Utrecht 2013 with a fellow Dutch AFOL (his name is Johan as well ;))...
  24. Very nice project! I prefer Arduino / Teensy and try to keep some PF compatibility (because it is also doable for non-engineers and because I teach Arduino in high school and college ;)). You did a great job however! How are the concurrency capabilities?! We have almost finished an educational project that controls trains using XBee, our own China-made Arduino (uh, the print that is, soldering is our own work) to make a train that works with color sensors etc.
  25. @UrbanErwin, it indeed is a hassle to use other constructions, especially if one want a portable turntable like me for events etc.
