  1. @JayCal you train clearly was inspired by the "Koploper" design indeed ;) Looks like a very interesting MOD!
  2. @dr_spock and @Modeltrainman, I'm currently involved in a project where they help children with Cerebral Palsy with therapy around the pirate theme: their 'good' hand is immobilized using a pirate hook while they are encouraged to play with their 'cp' side. Seems that this kind of therapy works really well!
  3. @Aanchir, for most AFOLs they are just a parts set. Nice to have in the end, but we often rebuild it to our liking don't we! Same for bus stop, station platforms, etc. @Tube Map Central, there is a new book out on Apple, the strife between Jonathan Ivy (an engineer) and Tim Cook (a businessman), called "After Steve". That is what happens is the soul is out of a company. Even though I must say that the newest Apple stuff is at least a lot better than the crap from at least last half a decade.
  4. That is a good point indeed. They want us to get ten of those to make an intercity station probably ;) Maybe that is what it is: you love one and hate the other or the other way around. I also like the cargo train better than the passenger train, but both trains give us parts and that is the most important I think.
  5. I like the train station very much! Also the track vehicle. Not sure about the passenger train. And... more yellow hats!!! I don't know why they include two track-road converters, one would be suffice I would say. Apart from that, LEGO has lost it? Confidential pictures on their own site?!
  6. Welcome @Marcin Majkowski, great to have you finally on board! Enjoy your stay at EB!
  7. Would be best to contact LEGO service about it, they are often very eager to help out is my own experience. In my family someone dropped a Duplo train in a bucket of water, I told them to just phone LEGO and tell them what happened. They did and LEGO replaced it without any cost.
  8. Welcome @2ndgen. Enjoy your Eurobricks journey :)
  9. Hope some night shift people read your suggestion @M_slug357 ;)
  10. Seems like a fusion of modern trains, there are also a few Siemens engines (especially the Siemens Taurus). B.t.w. finally after 40 years a train set with a yellow helmet again ;) (I know we had the Toy Story Truck but apart from that...). Or is it some lime color? Could also be, but at least finally some different color again :)
  11. This construction is called after its initial inventor mr. Jacobs: Jacobs bogie. Nicely done @Zombiehunter2_0 Trains
  12. It is not leaked, it is on the LEGO website...
  13. Looks very nice @LegoV94, great details and the stickers make it splendid!
  14. I thought connecting a point like that was illegal but definitely quite some tracks, especially great for beginners! Looks like a modern locomotive (Taurus / Vectron).
  15. Reminds me of those Siemens Taurus E-locomotives.
  16. There was a time when train tracks were just powered from the mains. And... LEGO gauge is wider than the rails in those days :)
  17. I hope not, but as of late I'm afraid nothing is safe anymore...
  18. @Murdoch17, I would not know exactly, but @Enigma1612 you sure hit the jackpot. You can easily see prices for Train sets on BrickLink. The controllers are Technic b.t.w., but you could use them for nine volt trains as well, but a few of them are 12V!
  19. You could always ask https://www.1000steine.de/de/gemeinschaft/my1000steine/profil/?id=10457 I am teaching microcontrollers and I also think the TI microcontroller was not he best choice but on the other hand you can reprogram it and do with it what you want. PF is way too limited for more advanced applications. See also: https://www.1000steine.de/de/gemeinschaft/forum/?entry=1&id=440039&lastid=1#lastid (In German...).
  20. Why would the 12V era be difficult to produce? I don't mean the middle pickup and sleepers, I mean all those nice sets. Even though I also think the My own train sets were also really great for AFOLs. Nowadays it would be very doable to make an automated level crossing even with train approach sensors using Powered Up technology. Also automated points etc. The only way to get enough track without breaking the bank is via Lugbulk I would say. But hopefully it survives, LEGO is killing a lot of AFOL initiatives as of late.
  21. Well in here everyone agrees with you, but at least there are some sets expected so let's see. The 12V era will never come back, LEGO makes way to much money so they really do not care but at least we get enough train parts and in these days we have bricklink so we can make MOCs, etc.
  22. Very interesting. Also the link with Seymour Papert of course. Marvelous man that founded the MIT Media Lab amongst others.
  23. Great job. I always liked those 'papers'.
