Well, often quite alike except especially the feet:

Link to news article It seems to be that LEGO and BanBao are having a legal fight about the minifigs. As far as I think, it would be better for us and LEGO to lose. That will keep price and quality balanced. I don't know about the quality of BanBao but I have seen brands like sluban and their quality is horrible. It seems kids seem to like the army themes of the clone brands best, so LEGO also might reconsider their current 'violence' strategy.

LEGO Digital Designer - what port?!
JopieK replied to JopieK's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Hmmm, so it must be the proxy then that is causing LDD not to have an internet connection. It is confirmed here: http://thenxtstep.com/smf/index.php?topic=224.0 -
nice work Pat, again :) we can't come to Belgium alas, and most BeLUG fellows won't come to LW I've heard, hope to meet you guys soon again though :)

Very nice MIOC :) indeed much more realistic than the original set. Maybe LEGO could bring your version out as well ;)

Wolfsburg, I have been there twice to visit the Volkswagen imperium. So you must be really enjoying LEGO bringing another VW to the market huh ;) Welcome at EB b.t.w.

WTB: Power functions to 9v connection wire (4x)

Uhh, Farnell doesn't have LEGO parts AFAIK :p but you could of course cut the PF cable in half and connect it to a battery box from e.g. Farnell ;) -
of course vectors are the way to do it, but did you print it on white paper or use model hobby decal material e.g.?
-
Hi (Dutch), welcome at EB. How did you make those decals? They look very nice.

Microcontrollers, automation and lightings

But you don't have the IR code for it I guess ;) that uses Arduino (essentially C) libraries. -

oohw ja, about those LED's, I use SMD ones. -
we get a lot of complaints about certain sets, Ferarri, Harry Potter, etc. so more sets have the same problem. Problem is we don't have the ability to reproduce them all...

You should look for Arduino. I have my oen Lego version for Arduino (leguano) That is 100% pf compatible but can do even more. Last year at legoworld in Zwolle netherlands, i had a train with direction sensitive lighting, blinker on top etc using my leguano and an extra attiny2313 in the locomotive. I have almost finished a system that will let you control PF with your iPad (still working on the scheduler that Will let you automate train movements). Client side will be open source. Sincerely, jopiek Pardon spell errors, I'm in the train and the iPad doesn't understand this should be an english spell check -
Well Thorsten, it is a good thing that the NXT doesn't do IR anymore. IR really $#@&$ (pardonez le mot) especially if you use it in classroom situations like I do. Although it is a pity that PF and NXT aren't compatible (out of the box then). Have you ever experienced uploading firmware again and again (and since a typical dutch period is just 50 minutes... students hate it (I still partially use RCX)). Cables on Google like Thorsten said: http://www.google.nl...biw=993&bih=743

but what about decoupling. At this moment it is almost impossible to have decent decoupling options. I know people came up with some somewhat neat idea's (even pf based inside the shunter etc). but in the model world one of the most interesting features is the decoupling and shunting of trains in emplacements.

my original set 7823 came with red pins in the wheels of the car.

Hi Fred, do you also go to events? Are you more into current castle / knights or more antiquated styles?
-
Welcome back to LEGO then :) and enjoy Eurobricks!
-
well ny advice is: get a bike so you can drive that couple of miles :) that is how we do it in Holland although we cycle in kilometers instead of miles so shops might be closer by ;) (Not really, our closest shop is too expensive, the nearest dedicated LEGO shop is 20km away actually and the closest LEGO store is in Germany).

how can i get the two bricks back in LDD
JopieK replied to SNIPE's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Probably you can't, it was known that those parts weren't there anymore (see the other topic in here). Update was there already for some days now. -
it looks really nice!!! also that sign etc. about non-existing parts / colors, what isn't could come :)

here is at least how the model guys and gals do it: http://cs.trains.com/TRCCS/forums/t/158692.aspx

hey it is not a computer forum, you know that don't you ;) welcome @ EB! Please tell a bit more about yourself! What themes do you like etc. So you say you have been in your dark ages up until now and did never use (play / build) with LEGO as a kid?
