  1. Very nice SavaTheAggie!!!
  2. I think would or gypsum would be a more effective and cost friendlier way :) the idea is nice of course, but... you might want to ask this guy ;) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1214729/James-May-size-Lego-house-wants.html
  3. That was very short. It seems they just want to know if we buy other brands as well...
  4. weather has something to do with rain, snow and sunshine ;) but when you look at the National Geographics documentary it still looks promising, although I also think quality is decreasing at the moment. Quality is an important issue for letting LEGO stand out agains MB and all that other clone brands I think. Not too long ago I had the 'privilege' to touch some sluban and I was shocked to see the very poor quality. It is cheap, but also very bad plastics.
  5. The event in the National Geographic film is "Legoworld 2010" from last fall in Zwolle. B.t.w. they use FROG (Free Ranging On Grid) robots in the factory, cool to see that.
  6. Congratulations! Guess we others need to wait till April 1rst :)
  7. I'm wondering how your did the circuit. The switches are continuous and I think you just want to kick the motor to left or to right. Or did you just use them as digital inputs for a uC?
  8. It's simple and yet elegant your solution with the wheels of the hand truck!!! That is nice indeed to cut a rigid hose. That is also an option for more purists (I'm not amongst them but try to be as pure as comfortable). Ah so you live in Lombard. I have been in Süd-Tirol for some years for skiing (Val Gardena).
  9. Really nice!
  10. do you have them as vectors?! Nice smirks ;)
  11. Really nice! Lots of details. Very nice station!!! Out of curiosity, how did you make the wheel construction on your hand truck? @LEGO Train 12 Volts, do you live in Süd-Tirol?!
  12. Why not? I have a working concept with Arduino / Atmel CPU. Search in the EB fora ;) You can have LED's for the signal and an IR led that sends a pulse to stop or enable a train.
  13. I don't like basic. RobotC is much, much better. Look at the examples. Call something etc. is very ugly.
  14. So is there already a clue about the dots somewhere?
  15. Well, any LEGO train is a good start of course, but... Don't try to get an RC train, you'd better get PF trains. The Emerald is a very nice looking train (I have 3 of them) but... It is not an easy train to start with. All trains you mention might be a good start. The Emerald runs on an XL motor so... But RC LEGO trains are the 7897 and 7898. They have an ugly receiver with batterypack integrated in their bottomplate. The new PF trains (that you call RC train, of course looking at the terms they are also RC trains) also have a more powerful motor.
  16. What to think about fluor tubes?!
  17. Well here is my container, it is called a "flat rack". A special Maersk version for heavy loads. It is modelled to look like one of these (only mine is the 20ft version and this is a 40ft one). Maersk has those containers as you can see! (link to a site with a lot of container info) The Erdinger guy is already present. He just put a fust of fine Bavarian (german) beer there. The party will start when the train arrives. The stickers are computer cut vinyl ones just like LEGO uses. B.t.w. I just could remove those L-shaped plates but the original containers are exactly like the size of this container so I think the rules should allow it. So just in case... But this one is not suitable when the train arrives :)
  18. Well there are solutions for that, although Maersk blue is also problematic for a sticker printer (at least with the technique that we use). We print the Maersk stickers with plain Cyan and that looks nice enough we think.
  19. offtopic: I also have Mac OS, but well... it just works... so I guess there are other problems. ontopic: I'll try to make some container :)
  20. Nice review Whitefang! Now we need to wait before this series to become available.
  21. Reasonable prices, but I won't understand people will buy the RC motor for 1€ less now ;)
  22. Look at the philohome site for the specifications and differences: Link
  23. Paint with a non-metalic color, maybe otherwise trading it with other people?

    Firestation

Well, I would say he is missing stickers. That makes it way more realistic. LEGO has stickers on all there Fire Stations AFAIK (Except exclusive10197).
