nice one indeed! nice curvy details!!!

Well, I got some more, brick link parts just arrived :) Still need to adjust those shells a bit (make them a bit smaller, same size as torso I think). I'm afraid a fuel war was started in my classic town: I like duals so... let the best fueler win ;)

Little HTML test to make EB even better :)
JopieK replied to JopieK's topic in Forum Information and Help
but that is potentially dangerous since then you can't decide what tags to allow and what tags to block. -
no it is not just you, especially the signals and points were very nice and simple! But... the decouplers always were a dream as a kid, as an AFOL I had one and it didn't work well, so too bad...

especially for people like you :p -
Sorry if I mess up something, just testing something for Erdbeereis. [th]4431[/th] [th]4432[/th] [th]4435[/th] Ambulance Garbage Truck Car & Caravan City City City Alas, it doesn't work, Invision Powerboard has this option, so shouldn't it be neat to enable that at the EB site? Helps to improve it even more. see: http://www.teamopolis.com/tools/bbcode-table-generator.aspx and see this to enable this function: http://resources.zetaboards.com/topic/5074400/1/ Greetz, Johan

LEGO DesignbyME to close January 2012
JopieK replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Well, there is more than one things you could use it for. It helps younger student with 3d perspective perception. It also will make the step to other tools easier (you can't just start with a tool like 3d studio max or maya with younger kids). It will also help them realize the advantages of 'think before you act'. Then you could even let them use it for stop motion (although in current LDD that is not too easy since you can't freeze camera positions). -
Well, but 12V wasn't that good either. You e.g. have a whole lot of cables running around and the driving capabilities of those train motors weren't that fantastic either. I remember that I needed to let the train run (even just the motor) for at least 15 minutes before it more or less worked well. Apart from that. The track is very vulnerable. Who doesn't have experience with the sleepers having some teeth (or all teeth) broken of? And that about the rail itself. They are too vulnerable to bring to shows etc. I like RC very much, you always have some car in a train that will be able to disguise the battery and if using the rechargeable one, you can drive for hours without charging. It would be nice to have a nice charing option, we heard rumors but are they real? I b.t.w. am controlling trains using both IR and radio. Students of mine are also very busy working that out.

I suggest they release it as Open Source then, otherwise it would be a real waist. LEGO also forgets that it is a valuable tool for Education etc. In my highschool we have installed it on all student computers (and we have around 3000 students so quite an impact). I'm not saying they all use it, but also for activities like the FIRST LEGO League, they are able to. That will increase there sales, since if they design something virtually they will eventually need to build it and the easiest way is to just buy some sets in the nearest toy store. I was just having some email conversations with Philo (Philippe Hurbain), he is a member of the LDraw community. I also used to be involved in that, it would be great if we could merge some of the LDraw advantages with the LDD advantages (like creating instructions e.g.). -

but waterslide decals aren't very durable. You can buy them in a model hobby shop. -
nice one! did you also see the other videos that youtube suggests?!!

Brixcc on a Mac
JopieK replied to JopieK's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Of course NXT-G works indeed. That is not the problem. Since it is for Computer Science, the teacher probably wants them to use NXC or something like that. -
I just wanted to redo a 7777 set that I can fit in with my LEGO city that I usually take with me to events and just add some modern components to the old 7777 idea. That refinery looks very nice indeed. B.t.w. in holland (and most of europe) there used to be "city gas" for lighting street lanterns. That was before they discovered gas fields. They made gas from coal. That is why such a structures are quite accurate.

These are very nice indeed! Very nice moc. Do they have original stickers? I don't recognize the "Energy". I think I will however prefer a bit smaller tankers, the only reason is that I want them to match our general era more precisely (around or just after ww2).
-
If you take a look at the 7777 book, you notice a shell station and a kind of refinery idea. Note: original images at back cover and page 48 / 49. Well I rebuilt it, first in LDD and hopefully from now on IRL. With two cars and an end buffer. I have used the sort of ying and yang idea from the logo in the sidings of the large tanks (so the red and green rises a bit). Of course since we have a sticker business, the real life model will be also fitted with the proper stickers of the Octan logo's. Enjoy. I also hope to remake a 7760 as a shunter loc for the refinery.

Brixcc on a Mac
JopieK replied to JopieK's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
But I think he doesn't want that, it needs to be installed on all (Computer Science) high school student computers and that makes it less manageable by the ICT department I guess. -
Brixcc on a Mac
JopieK replied to JopieK's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I know that BrixCC is Windows, but there might be IDE's that can use NXC or something like that. I think they use the NXT but not totally sure. -
Hi guys, a colleague of mine asked me about how to run Brixcc or something like it on Mac without Wine or an other virtual Windows solution?! All his students have a mac, they are unable to use a virtual windows because of maintainability etc. Any ideas appreciated. Johan

some of my students are currently making a controller for 3677 with Arduino and RF (radio signals), so hope they will manage to come quite far :)
-
Simpel but (I think) quite elegant modern interpretation of classic 6610: I was asked about the possibilities to do this. So in my next city I probably will have an ARAL, Octan, Exxon and of course the original Shell pump to get the LEGO city economy ;)
-
The H-bridge in the receiver is blocked when using the brake command. @Thorsten, I translate al PF messages from and to ascii commands so it is quite easy, just adding an radio link in between. At the moment trying my best with the nRF24L01(+) units.
-
well, you could also put the horses after/behind each other.
-
There are some strange commands in the specifications indeed: vs. The left controller gives different commands from the right one. If you use an IR receiver and monitor the commands. B.t.w. Currently I'm experimenting with remote radio frequency connections.
