  1. Just search for monorail at brickshelf.com: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=404117 and http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=76606 etc. so I guess it is doable, I guess there are solutions for edged curves, but wouldn't have a clue at this moment... it becomes more os less like a rollercoaster if you want very tight turns I guess.
  2. well, I always use stickers, but try to mimick the LEGO one's as much as possible. Vinyl stickers are removable without sticking residue (although those paper ones often do leave traces of glue).
  3. Unnecessary quote of entire post removed by moderator -TheBrickster. Ludo Soete of BeLUG has contact with a guy that can make metal wheels of aluminum so that looks about the same as the old 9V motor.
  4. Wow, that looks great tellblom!!!
  5. Too many minifigs, I must have lost the count
  6. Nice one mister Blue! Have you seen the one from Carl Greatrix? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=318600 Might get you some input for realisation :)
  7. Fortunately for our friend Larry, he is not a pickle but a small cucumber ;) Very nice bikes!!! what is that golden part under the blue motorbike? They are perfect, not too big at all!
  8. It's a very nice building, Michelin: Two brothers, Édouard and André Michelin, ran a rubber factory in Clermont-Ferrand, France. One day, a cyclist whose pneumatic tyre needed repair turned up at the factory. The tyre was glued to the rim, and it took over three hours to remove and repair the tyre, which then needed to be left overnight to dry. The next day, Édouard Michelin took the repaired bicycle into the factory yard to test. After only a few hundred metres, the tyre failed. Despite the setback, Édouard was enthusiastic about the pneumatic tyre, and he and his brother worked on creating their own version, one which did not need to be glued to the rim. Michelin tyre plant in Waterville, Nova Scotia Michelin was incorporated on 28 May 1888. In 1891, it took out its first patent for a removable pneumatic tyre which was used by Charles Terront to win the world's first long distance cycle race, the 1891 Paris–Brest–Paris. Thanks to wikipedia!
  9. EB is a very cheap way to still be involved in the LEGO hobby... although... you get expensive idea's here (like buying too much LEGO etc ;)).
  10. Wel that is partially true, it depends on the controller as well! The technic controller gives an other command than the train controller. The implemented it a bit lousy is my opinion (at least that is what I would say if some student of mine would have done it like this ;)).
  11. Oohw, but since you are an expert on it, you could also mention that it has a limited range, but... you could make IR extenders in tunnels etc.
  12. Very nice, very neat idea those automatic doors!!! It is a nice train in general as well.
  13. ;) strange things do happen sometimes... @Legoluchlol: I have my own extension to PF. in that way I can easily disguise my IR receiver somewhere not so eye catching.
  14. Well, I have made some implementations for PF with Arduino. You could add extra remote control options of course, just extend the protocol :) I agree that the 12V features like the points remote control and signals were never met with any other system, but PF gives some opportunities for that if you have some knowledge of embedded systems.
  15. Ok, there we go. Anyone who lives in the neighborhood from Münster (Germany) can stop by at 17th of April 2011. More information: http://www.steine-in-muenster.de It is the largest private Zoo from LEGO bricks that was made by both deaf and hearing children in cooperation with PariSozial Münsterland and the Lego-Initiative Münster. Hallo, the deadline is coming near and more details are attached. Unfortunately subscription to the event is closed so that there are no possibilities for more children to enter the event. For the Press thate is an opportunity to have a look at the project from 15.30 at Sunday 17th of april 2011. For visitors that are interested, the exhibition is open at 15.30 at Sunday 17th of april 2011. The project There were a total of more than 2000 children involved in this project. Half of them had hearing disabilities. In small mixed groups, children built the separate models. Hearing and deaf children needed to communicate with each other, share ideas and make a plan to get the job done. To get some inspiration, they first had the chance to get to the zoo for free and had a tour there. They also had a crash course in sign language for e.g. concepts like kinds of animals. On saturday they will be building the zoo itself. The last details will be finished on sunday. Faster than an eagle they will make a stable for Elephants (first plan, then build). The total project will cover up to 8 by 10 meters. I think that this will be the largest private LEGO bricks built zoo project in the world. The kind of this project needed to be one time only. For the little achitects there will be also a small lottery. They can win of course something LEGOish ;) That's all folks! @brickquick: MfG eine Holländer (auch 1000steine Mitglied)
  16. very nice! but... vinyl stickers are better than those paper stickers...
  17. A colleague of mine is watching a webcam in the US on a workless desktop computer and I saw BNSF like the LEGO one running by :) He was of course amazed that I had quite some knowledge about them (thanks to guys like you ;)). He is in fact looking out on the railroad tracks in Zwolle, NL (where LEGOWorld is every year) but he thinks they are dull ;) b.t.w. I just saw at google maps that the webcam spot is close to Burlington, so no wonder BNSF's are passing by ;)
  18. Well that looks really bad doesn't it! :'(
  19. No, that is not a pickle, it's a cucumber :p and a nice one too!
  20. Very nice work! I also like the BBQ at the front porch very much. Did you use a real building for inspiration?
  21. Well, or they might be initial concepts :) (I'm a school teacher so I'm most aware of all jokes on a certain date ;))
  22. I'm really disappointed with DCC, I have an Intellibox etc. But making PF compatible trains with Arduino works a lot better!
  23. So we got two today :) hope they will are soon!
  24. I heard from Ole Kirk Christiansen that he wants to sell off TLG to the guys from hello kitty. He is not pleased with the way his grandson runned LEGO, especially the Bionicle line.
  25. In our newspaper I found this article: http://www.refdag.nl...n_lego_1_543158 It is in Dutch, but part of it is in English.
