  1. Maybe I should shorten the hood by 1 stud next to the windscreen? Between the door hinge and the front wheel are two studs of length, this would reduce that to 1 stud length Guess I could get rid of the upside-down 1x4 slope in back to thin that area...
  2. Thanksss everyone for the input :) Here's an update -Moved rear wheel forward by 1 stud -Shortened rear by 1 stud -Changed slopes over front wheels -The wedges had to be repositioned in back (there are a few 1x1 plates missing in front, ignore that :P ) Oh yeah, and when I say that the car is unstable, it's because it's still a rough draft Usually I build the car's exterior first to make it look as good as possible, then I work on the insides since it usually doesn't matter what that looks like. There's a big 6 by "X" stud plate that runs along the bottom of my cars (sometimes 2 or 3), that holds everything together, along with some more plates integrated into the car's insides. ...And no wonder I couldn't tell the difference between the Mako and this Manta's body
  3. Lots of neat detailing, though to me it looks more like a badass spaceship engine than a ship itself
  4. V-LV-58A From the little research I've done, the Stingrays are smaller sporty cars while the Manta Ray was designed as a full-size car apparently I am completely wrong :) . It is magnificent. I want to be strapped into one when I die and thrown into the ocean. Notes -I should probably shorten it by a stud or two, maybe move the rear wheel forward by a stud too -It's horribly unstable right now, I just wanted to get the basic shape done. Now that it's out of my system I can get some sleep -They're supposed to be dark blue with white misting underneath, but they just look black in pictures I've seen.
  5. Rarely is it the camera's fault When a scene is really bright/dark or there's a lot of white the camera has trouble focusing because it can't tell what's going on. Your pictures here are overexposed (too much light) so I'm guessing that's the problem. Also, keep in mind the lower your F-stop (f/4, f/8, f/64, etc.) the less things will be in focus.
  6. Kick asss 'Vette! You captured the shape well I wanted to make one but don't want to straight-up copy your design, though it looks like you made the archetypal body we all have to base ours on Maybe I'll make this Mako Shark version... http://www.makoshark2.com/cars/73corvette/index.php Anyway, these creations are always great for inspiration, thanks for sharing
  7. If you're wanting things cheap then buying sets isn't the way to go. You're better off designing what you want in LDD and buying pieces off bricklink. Although, to be fair, sometimes after shipping you end up paying in total about the same on bricklink (8 to 12 cents a piece) as you would buying sets in stores. But at least through BL you get all the pieces you need and not random things you don't.
  8. Your photos are good, usually when people photograph white things they add too much light so the white loses all detail. You did a great job at eliminating glare. The only problem with the orange backdrop is that the color reflects onto the model so you get mixed colors, that's why most people use non-colored backdrops instead. I like the car's design, only thing I could suggest is maybe make the red tail lights red tiles and maybe add 2 little tiles to the rear bumper to make everything smoother
  9. Here's the LDD file if anyone wants it: http://www.mediafire.com/?emo4m4gh20ob2op ...I would just drive off in that, never see me again Oh yeah, Tiger, here's the brick built ones so far: http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/2852/dsc0028dhj.jpg
  10. Engine; it works well enough :) Also added grills near windshield
  11. Something like this? I don't know, I like mine better The tail lights are too low like this, also the license plate sticks out and it doesn't lift with the trunk lid. How about something like this monstrocity? Yesss, now working on the engine for MORE POWER! I'll post two cars I brick built when they're completely done, right now they're like 95% done EDIT: Also, oops, missed a 1x2 plate in the first new rear pictures The trunk is actually level with the highest point on the hood (the wedge, not the 4 studs on the wedge).
  12. Damn mild OCD... Shortened rear by a stud, looks more accurate now
  13. LDD file with updates: http://www.mediafire.com/?emo4m4gh20ob2op/ Bootz asked if I could build his car based on a Dodge Viper, figured I would just build a Viper lol Lots of room to build the massive V10 engine Opening doors, no black roof Trunk hinges open, can probably make the hood hinge open too but meh, lazy
  14. I was going to make a fire truck but it was ridiculously huge xD (I just have to redesign it I think) Maybe that car would work better with 7-wide, depending on the windshield. Unless it's supposed to be as wide as a "normal" car of course. I don't know, I'll try it.
  15. I'm not a fan of 4-wide because of the limited detail, so it's impressive to me when you folks get distinct shapes at this size.
  16. Yesss, and here are a few more details to top it off :] Dashboard is done, added mysterious red buttons under the steering wheel, a touchscreen center console, and a little box between the seats to store CDs... or grenades. http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/2015/fgld.jpg http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/1594/lhjl.jpg Also forgot that the plates that connect the roof pieces are trans so they're like lights inside the van. http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/9900/ssfz.jpg Also switched the 3-long slopes on the bumper to 2-long, makes the van look more solid and creates more studded surface area to attach things :)
  17. No love for the van, huh?
  18. Very happy with this, it looks great with my other 8-wide cars. Just needs a dashboard, I'll finish that by hand. Features: -Medicine cabinet -Fold out table extension -Lots of clips/holes to attach gear -Tiles on front bumper can be removed to attach gear (winch, battering ram, etc.) -Opening doors -Fairly roomy -This trans dish thing on the floor is a Big Ear Mic :) -No TV/computer station this time, Punisher is using a laptop now
  19. Yessssss! Here's what I have built so far, need a few pieces for both cars. The rear fins are staying solid in those clips, glad it worked out. And some work on Punisher's new van because my old one is way too big.
  20. Best figure ever
  21. Heh, horseshoe fighter, pretty neat.
  22. Love those 7 and 8 wide firetrucks, they look fantastic and the scale looks perfect
  23. Love the drabness those sand colors create
  24. My poor 'Cuda wants to be indexed http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=63713
  25. V-LV-51E Yeah, I don't have an original bone left in my body, so here's another conversion I have to admit, I think the car loses some of its "oomph" factor at this larger scale, but still decent.
