  1. What, no love for my chunky '80s cellphone? That's a pretty cool phone in the pet shop red building, didn't even know about that barbell piece. (skateboard wheels?)
  2. That thing looks like it came out of a '50s cartoon depicting what trains would look like in the future, very cool. The front is ominous.
  3. It was a tight fit but I managed to add Gwen as a passenger! That's a tall order, I don't know if that's even possible given the complexity of the build, I might have to reconstruct the entire thing I'll try though, but no promises. Edit: WHEW! That was a rough experience but in the end everything seemed to fall into place. Behold the totally revamped Boeing Ultra Stealth Business Jet V.2, AKA: The Cyclops
  4. This is a land-based sci-fi vehicle, the plane is a flying town craft so it wouldn't make much sense to put them together. Then again, who says how big/small something has to be to be lumped together in the same thread or not?
  5. Except gold pieces are used which makes more sense as the metal pieces, so the brown definitely looks like wood. Except it's a "cannon" not a "ray gun", which indicates some kind of concussive force that the wood may not be able to withstand. I can suspend disbelief for anything when it comes to LEGO, I just thought it was a funny idea. It's still a cool weapon
  6. The future is now! This fine speedy means of public transportation comes fully equipped with windows and walls and oxygen, sweet, sweet oxygen. The buses of the future don't have wheelchair ramps because invalids all receive free goverment-supplied hover-wheelchairs.
  7. Heh, this is another one of those "looks better as an engine than a standalone spaceship" builds Very interesting design going on
  8. Here's a cell/cordless phone lol If you want a fancy new phone, just use a 1x2 tile with a sticker on it
  9. BEST STOOL EVER
  10. Not sure what good a cannon made of wood will do, but it looks cool anyway
  11. V-MA-1A This was my most strenuous build to date but I managed to incorporate as many details as possible. Wings, windows, fins, engines, fuel tank, super stealthy ninja-like paint job, snazzy pointy butt, a coffee maker, a merry crew serving beer when you ask for it not an hour later when you're about to land anyway and would just rather get a draft beer at the bar, it's all there if you look hard enough. For the more conspicuous travelers there is also the standard off-white version (OR MAYBE IT'S AN ICE NINJA PLANE!?!?)
  12. I accidentally built the Dreadnaught instead! I'll work on this Buick tonight
  13. Sweet shape, the floating head/torso "technique" is really the only way to add a minifig to some of the smaller cars. Never would have thought of using those technic bars for the sides
  14. It's not "one guy" doing this, it's a bunch of guys. Everywhere. Though to be fair, Los Angeles is particularly full of these guys so my shopping experiences may not be common. Right, except that's not true, as all those expensive Star Wars sets for resale show You guys are right, I should stop blaming the scalpers when clearly it's you crazy guys who are responsible for the insane prices.
  15. I think 6 wide is way too small, 7-wide seems just about right but 8-wide lets you add more detail without affecting the scale much. In the end it comes down to what scale you build your cities :) Here's what I made, with all the typical features (and you could say flaws haha) Notes -Forgot to add the rear red lights, added them in one of the pics though -Doors open, including the rear -I don't know how to add the decoration on the side, maybe a sticker, maybe flexible tubing, not sure -The raised tile on the side is the fuel door :) -You can use some electrical tape or something to cover the door hinges if you don't like them, that's what I do -You can easily fill in all the empty space of the windows with clear plates -Can seat minifigures (probably, I haven't tested it yet but there seems to be enough room) -Might have to play around with the roof tiles a little to make it buyable In Black: In Light Bley/Dark Bley combo: Here's what I based the Hearse on, as you can see the front is pretty spot on: Interior (funky colors haha) http://i42.tinypic.com/11v2sz4.jpg More detail: http://i40.tinypic.com/dy6r1w.jpg Rear door opens with lots of room inside to fit a casket if you build one http://i39.tinypic.com/2cmn5fs.jpg UPDATE: New front bumper
  16. I finished the model, would have emailed you but I can't access my Hotmail.com account :( I think the site is down. Let me know (private message I guess) if you want me to post it and if you want to pay anything for it haha
  17. Yeah, that's a fair representation of most politicians
  18. I didn't define anything, I just said pricks need to stop being pricks. :) That's fine if someone needs more than 1 of something (a thousand Space Police officers, a hundred X-Wings) for their displays. Even if they want 100 Batwings or 100 Catwoman sets for their display, that's fine by me because they're using them all and enjoying them. Maybe down the road they want to sell a few to make room or buy other sets, and if someone wants to give them 10 times the set's actual price, that's fine too. What bothers me is the person who buys items specifically so other people can't have them so later everyone else has to go to them and pay an outrageous price for the items. Imagine I bought all the oil-wells in the world and said no one can have this oil unless you pay me $50,000 a barrel? I would be murdered outright. Even though it's comparing toys to the life blood of industry, it takes the same kind of jerk to pull a stunt like that. When I see the guy at TRU feeling all the bags to snag every single Dwarf he can get, I don't assume he's a jerk, I ask if he's army-building, which is cool. If he says "yes", I might even help as I look for the figs I want. If he says "no, I'm going to resell these on bricklink for $10 more" I take the appropriate action which is smack the back of his knees so he falls to the ground and bash his nose in with a a box of Ring-Pops. Doesn't everyone do that!?
  19. Build one anyway, I never know if anything I'm building will look good in the end
  20. Oh, that's perfect then (I've been making many 8-wide vehicles lately), you can click the link in my signature for examples of the cars I've made so far. http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/56644 Honestly, a Hearse was on my To Do list anyway.
  21. I'll build an 8 or 10 wide version if you want, don't know about a life-size one haha
  22. The sais look like a good alternative, also the trailer is demoralizing me, I can't quite get the round shape on top without blocking it comepletely Maybe this?
  23. I'm guessing you don't want to lower the roof so figures can still fit? I think it's just about as good as it's gonna get in 6 wide. The hood is perfect and it has good attention to detail overall The chrome pipes don't look out of place, I would attach 2 more to the roof, but that's just me I think the main problem with it is that it isn't 8-wide and it doesn't have spiked armor and missiles attached all over
  24. I've Never had a problem, maybe you guys are disassembling them the wrong way?
