Are LEGO 2011 sets' values increasing?
Henchmen4Hire replied to Alexgri's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The solution to all issues raised is everyone needs to stop being an asswipe and just buy what you need. No one is entitled to anything of course, and everyone has a right to be a jerk, but it'd be nice to see a goddamn Batman set on the shelves or Star Wars set with the figures still in the box every once in a while. I don't have a problem with small stores buying up all the sets at TRU then reselling them for more because they can't always just buy wholesale from TLG. For example, last I heard Hasbro has a thing where they don't sell wholesale to small shops unless they also buy a ton of other crap like board and card games no one buys. So, not surprisingly, you have small shop owners snagging all the sought after merchandise at major toy stores to resell at their own store at much higher prices to make some profit. -
It's big, it's mean, and Sean Bean wasn't in it
Henchmen4Hire replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in LEGO Town
-No, it's not the image I need. I need them side by side length-wise, I have the movie and already looked through it. Doesn't matter anymore, I'm happy with this lol -And yeah, those are ninjago stars, they don't come in dark bley though Maybe replace them with dark grey bushes? I'd like to make some of the other cars from the movie but I don't know how much armor detail I can add without making them look bulky... -

Extended cab/wheels by a stud Going to leave the length as is, I think the proportions are decent now -

Should probably make this 9 or 10 wide to be more accurate since obviously the semi should be a little wider, but I'm keeping it at 8-wide just because. :] Maybe I should extend the rear axles by a stud though to extend the cabin too Annoying that I couldn't find any side by side scenes of this semi and the Mustang to gauge their scale -

:) The semi is based on The Dreadnaught from the Death Race movie, the car is Ol' Gypsy from the Wasteland Angel game --> http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=65422 It's based on the same car model so the Death Race Mustang and this Wasteland Angel version are similar Turn on the "Outlines" option in your LDD Preferences. -

Work in progress

I hate monkeys. I don't want them in space too I'm sad to say I don't care what comes next for Space as long as it brings cool new Space minifigure designs and equipment. The themes are always interesting to me, but the sets usually aren't :[ That's such a weird reason, not making a theme less racist because it'll confuse kids who already think that people who have an extra pair of arms or different skin color makes them criminals

Adding mounds of snow (wedges, tiles, go crazy) would help a lot, as is the snow looks very boring
-
I don't see how making any particular CMF more easily available is a problem. That's fine if you guys want to spend hours of your life feeling bags or restraining the urge to fire-punch scalpers in the vas deferens so they can't reproduce and create more assclowns, that's all good and fine, I'd rather not waste energy like that though. Should TLG release small blocks of one-off sets filled with Dwarves, the various warriors so far, and Space figures, I wouldn't say a peep.

I hope they don't do "magic in space", I'm so sick of dragons and magic being in everything. The only thing I like about Ninjago is the moddable weapons, but we could already do that before... in better color combinations. (Okay, I like the Power Ranger-esque thing they're doing now lol) I like making custom weapons for my Space people, maybe I'll start a weapon thread for Space like the Hammers one in the Historic area. I hope we get more Space Police but kinda doubt it. I'd be happy with just getting more aliens, we can build our own sets after all.

Thanks for the support folks! Haven't had any inspiration lately unfortunately :( Saw this one on MOCPages today, all I did was change the striking face to grey so it looks like a used striking face "Death Hammer" - http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/307073

Can you add a 1x1 round plate in the hole behind the wheel? I like that rear window, neat idea
-
Yaaaay, an 8-wide car, that's nifty seeing that they used the same/a similar technique to what I do for the steering wheel in my 8-wide cars. I agree that the rear could use at least another plate of thickness sticking out The jeep is pretty nifty for the glass techniques, the last model is cool too, if only because it shows the variety of distinct vehicles you can get from the same pieces

Those are actually really good for cellphone pics, here's one of them fixed, all I did was get rid of the yellow tinge. (I'm guessing you're using incandescent lights, that's what gives them the yellow tinge)
-
Updated picture -Added interior, a few clips to hold weapons (no passenger seat) and a green button to activate a nitrous burst :) Now I have to watch Death Race because those cars look sick! Quick Death Race version haha
-
Oooooh, that's a neat trick with the hinge pieces, usually I go to the Megablocks piece for stuff like that (studs on both sides), but it's good to see LEGO can do it too! I don't mind anyone posting their version here, everyone brings new ideas to a vehicle's build and that's always a good thing
-
Wow, that translated really well into LEGO, great job
-
Very cool shape, it feels round instead of blocky so mission accomplished I guess you'd use stickers for the rest of the detail under the headlights? I think the black windshield makes it look kind of suspicious, I've never met a guy with a tinted front windshield who wasn't a little shady Looking forward to more vehicles, I won't be happy until there are at least as many LEGO vehicles as there are X-Wing MOCs I don't think they'd fit, the backs stick out a little
-
Depends on a couple of things, like how strong your lights are, your camera's settings... taking a decent picture is a just a lot of mix and matching of different factors like that. You could do a few things, it's up to you what you think works best -Add a third light source -Add the white cardboard to the right side to bounce the light from the 2 lamps back at the model -Raise the ISO on our camera (the higher the ISO the more grainy the picture though) -Change your backdrop to something lighter, a dark background doesn't reflect much light and tends to hide detail Of course, you may have a nice set up already and you just need to change your camera's settings (ISO, White Balance, etc.) or you may need a better camera A great camera DOES make a great photographer, modern DSLR cameras take awesome pictures under any conditions. People with older cameras have to work a little harder to get good results.
-
Heh, mechanical ostrich racer! Cool vig, especially the baseplate. I think your pictures are fine, they just need more light to get rid of heavy shadows. Try bouncing more light at it with some white paper on the sides. You could try making a simple lightbox with a cardboard box and white cloth or paper.
-
Here you go guys, I fixed it: SPACE MANTA RAY! gotoAndLego - That's a cool wheel/mudguard combo, didn't know those would fit together. Maybe you could add some Ninjago throwing stars for the detail in their centers? I like the shape you got, but it's definitely more Cuttlefish than Manta Ray. (Hell, mine is too! Too much junk in the trunk )

My First LDD... AT-AT minifig scale!
Henchmen4Hire replied to Fuppylodders's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Have you tried turning on the "brick outline" option in LDD? Would help you a lot in differentiating the bricks from each other
