  1. Really? Doesn't his solution increase the strength of the drivetrain because he's using one less U-joint on each axle.
  2. I think the previous two suggestions would be cool. Although for the last one, I would make a small truck to go along with it, but it's up to you. Also have you thought about buying the new tires from the Hotrod (2014) and Container Truck (2014) to give it a more aggressive presence for the Russian vehicle above?
  3. It looks awesome, like a true crawler!
  4. I would say very close to 1:1, maybe a differential in there as well. It is hard to tell since the rear chassis is covered.
  5. Alright guys, I am pretty much done with my Kamaz. Hopefully I will get the chance to film it, if the weather permits as well as take pics for my website. So stay tuned!
  6. Interesting setup, nice job on the LDD file.
  7. I think I figured it out, it is a shock absorber from 42007 and 8051, but the spring itself was cut in length so you have the same dampening action while having the same spring which is pushed up against the gearbox piece:
  8. I believe they are the springs from 42007 and 8051.
  9. I was hoping someone would try and learn something about this amazing car. I believe this car was featured on The Lego Car Blog. Also does anyone know if "KidA" is featured or has an account in another Lego Technic forum?
  10. Wow, impressive detail! I like how you did the lights.
  11. I agree with Efferman, 8110 all the way. In fact I like them so much I am considering buying 4 more. The 9398 tires are good, but there is not as many suitable applications to use them in a realistic way.
  12. Looks like you've got a good collection. Nice truck so far!
  13. Yeah, would like to see this in a truck with unimog tires. Actually maybe I'll make something similar for a truck of mine.
  14. Well I guess full bodies would be a bit unreasonable, so I guess spoilers, splitters, mudguards, bumpers, and especially rollcages would be great.
  15. I have a question about these custom parts....if you can pretty much create parts to fit the pin holes and axle holes on lego creations, would it be possible to make bodywork for a lego chassis? I don't know if the software is complex enough, but I think some people would be interested in buying bodywork for certain kinds of vehicles. Of course it would be pretty expensive, though.
  16. That's funny, I was actually considering making one of those. My problem was that I couldn't find any info on it, and plus I don't really know how to make an efficient telescopic boom. Maybe I will figure out how to make one in the near future.......
  17. Well it was a great idea! I think I won't give it that spare tire because it just doesn't look right and if I make instructions people don't want to have to buy just one more tire if they already have the Unimog. Thanks for the kind comments and I will just do some finishing touches to the truck and then make a video as soon as the cold weather permits.
  18. Bad news I completely forgot about the bottom studded brick that connects the panel to the chassis attaching point. In other words if I used this: It would make the front very weak. Also I believe that it is virtually impossible to swap this for the 5x11 panel and still keep the grill and orange stripe connected in the same dimensions. Despite this bad news I have finished putting in the new seats: I have also made an attaching point for the cab and an exhaust pipe thing:
  19. Lately I have been wanting to make a very large harbor crane like this: http://www.konecranes.co.uk/equipment/bulk-handling-cranes I would make it so the main structure of beams would be covered with grey 5x11 panels all the way up, one for each side of the pillar. If you scaled it so the beams would look in proportion with the panels it would probably be around 3 feet tall and 4 feet long, including the crane arm of course. If I ever get the chance to build such a monstrosity I'll probably change the actual crane function so you could lift anything and it would be a mobile one to so you could drive it around. Unfortunately it would require hundreds of pieces that I may only have a few dozen of as well as around 100 5x11 grey panels. Maybe one day.......
  20. Hey Pat-Ard, I've been working on the grill and I think I may have figured it out. It should fit all my required dimensions and attaching points.
