  1. Because they wanted everyone to wait until they made an official announcement, which was today and coincidentally the same day they added the product to their pages.
  2. I've just posted pics on RS: http://threads.rebelscum.com/showflat.php?...fpart=1#3792030
  3. I enjoy a position of trust with LEGO Co, and while I might tempt and tease you, I don't imagine myself as any kind of spokesperson for them and I won't give away their secrets.
  4. What's your next line? "I know you are but what am I?" At the risk of sounding mature: whatever. Thanks guys. 10 out of 10 of course! Something like a year or so, because of the vast approval system everything has to go through with the various departments in LEGO Co and LFL. Just to clarify, it was Feb 2009 and not 2008 I was in Denmark.
  5. Nah, I saw it in Billund last February! Damn straight. I ain't squealing.
  6. No conclusions were jumped to, and I don't think there is any difference between "I think these cards make next to no sense," and ""I think it's funny how some of thee cards make next to no sense." All you have to do is remove several unnecessary words ("it's funny how some of") and the sentances are exactly the same. And I understood your explanation of why you thought some of them made no sense, but I didn't agree with what you were saying. For instance Jabba is not on a card with "a smattering of other random characters" because they are clearly all aliens. And so what if Ep2 Anakin has a yellow face - he was still a Jedi. And what does it matter if a red BD is on the same card as blue SBD? So I chose to show that if you look at them in an uncomplicated way the themes are quite simple. The purpose of these cards is to illustrate the range of LEGO Star Wars minifigs. They aren't supposed to be flash cards for the history of the Star Wars galaxy.
  7. I guess I should have taken a closer look. OK, how about Republic Forces (instead of Clone Troopers) and Sith & Imperials (rather than just Imperials)?
  8. Actually the original name for the sets that contained minifigs was System, after a conversation Godtfred Kirk Christiansen, had with the owner of a toy distribution company (from Norway I think) whilst making a ferry crossing on the Baltic Sea. The toy importer said that what the LEGO bricks lacked was a system of play, and from this Godtfred conceived the first town sets. As the sets evolved to include minfigs they kept the label of System, and eventually became known as System-scale within the community.
  9. Huh? Rebels Aliens Clones Jedi Separatist Droids Imperials Bounty Hunters What's confusing about that? FYI these aren't the LEGO exclusive. These are DK promo items. And don't forget there will be a swag bag too.
  10. I don't see what the fuss about all of these pens are. So what if they are made in CHina. The plastics the same, the moulds are the same and they are licensed by LEGO. For all intents and purposes these are LEGO products.
  11. Yes it is. What's your point?
  12. Did it look anything like this one?
  13. Very cool. The mechanism must have been a steep learning curve. But now you'll be able to figure out a gear system to open both simutaneously using one crank.
  14. Mine didn't come with an extra hair piece.
  15. That's pretty cool because the LEGO designers use the same software top construct their large display pieces.
  16. Nice. Really, really nice. The lines are excellent, the cockpit pieces are well chosen - as are the side gunpods - and I think it's very cool you've got cargo doors (though they should be a stud or two taller). Can you do one in blue next?
  17. I honestly can't tell what this MOC is. But I think this is because the vignette doesn't lend itself to being photographed, rather than anythign to do with your build. Perhaps you could take a photo from further back and to one side so we can see the overall shape of the structure?
  18. I think you mean non-QWERTY keyboards. I have a US and a UK keyboard and all the alphanumeric keys are in the same place because they are both QWERTY keyboards. The only difference is the layout of some of the SHIFT key options.
  19. Besides it being out for a month, why would LEGO need worry about making a video game when they have never made any of the LSW titles? Travellers Tales makes them, under license from Lucasfilm and LEGO, with LucasArts acting as the publisher.
  20. Where does it say the book is up for grabs? The paragraph I'm reading says a panel will present information on the book, and reveal the minifig. EDIT: MaxGoof beat me to it.
  21. If the Vader in this picture was clearer and you had it in hi-res I would use it as my desktop wallpaper :)
  22. The book looks at the entire LEGO Star Wars range.
  23. I hope so too - because I took a large part of the photos :) Very, very few of the 99 to 2004 sets had any stock images available from LEGO Co so I got the job of getting my old sets out, dusting them off and shooting them. It was awesome to get my hands on them but not so fun dusting half a decade of dust off them! I hope you'll be pleased with the results. Funnily enough the first draft of that sentance didn't include "now named Darth Vader" and I suggested it was changed so it didn't confuse people. I guess it is still a little ambiguous. The team who worked on this book are keeping an eye on various forums and really enjoy the positive feedback this book is getting from the community. It will be available wherever DK books are stocked, and the minifig will be available wherever the book is being sold. Just as long as you don't order the library edition. At the last planning meeting I went to the plan was to have a blister mounted in the corner to protect the minifig. What about the boga from the General Grievous Chase set? It's right there! Anyway, each page is themed and this one is the Obi-Wan page. There are other pages with more cross-over set info on them. It's not up tp LEGO Co to decide how a pack-in is packed in. That's the publisher's job. And LEGO Co don't get a cut from the magazine sales, again it is the publisher's who do. LEGO Co sells the minifigs to the publisher, so no matter how many get ripped off the cover LEGO Co is OK. It might be telling YOU what you already know but think of all the other people out there who aren't so well informed as you!
  24. P.E.R.F.E.C.T. Nuff said.
  25. Nice Trade Fed army Panda. But I'm more impressed by your train layout. (And incredibly jealous too!)
