  1. Ooo, bad Pixel! BAD! Strangely enough, this reminds me of the bulldog I had some years ago; dopey face and all. Anyway, the build itself seems flexible and everything lines up well.
  2. Does your current Lego setup inspire you to build? It will when I am done with it.
  3. I don't quite see the point for having small sets (under $20 for example) with numbered bags but it can help for many of the large sets. I know putting together the Haunted House would have took a whole lot longer if none of the bags were numbered. Haha. Even for moderately sized sets it can help as sometimes you only have enough time to build a section or maybe two due to the usual constrictions of life in general. Still for the most part I build the same way I did as a kid; tear open all the bags and dump them into one big pile!
  4. I find that the old grays look rather dirty and somewhat brown in comparison with the new grays. Admittedly, new gray looks great for just about everything from City to Space but seems a tad off when used for Castle. I mean, it still works but new gray can make any Castle design look as if it was just built yesterday instead of the way how old gray could made it look as though the fortress has seen better days being around for a while. Course then again if you trying to go for that brand new look or appearance of an aristocratic castle then new gray is where it is at!
  5. This is a pretty neat mix & match robo, and it actually fits with the Chima universe. Beat me to it. Haha.
  6. Ah, classic big bulky mechs; my favorite. These are great interpretations of the famous Mechwarrior machines. They all are very spot-on but the Summoner and Awesome are my personal favorites you captured perfectly. Suggestions? Um, how about a Hunchback or Kit Fox? Ooo, a Cauldron Born? That would be sweet. Honestly though, there is just so many designs in the Mechwarrior universe, I couldn't pick only one to put together.
  7. Nice mechs. They each certainly have more of a Mechwarrior feel to them especially the Desert Fox; not like that is a bad thing. I think the reverse-joint legs work well with these designs or most mechs even. Sometimes it seems weird when they just stand straight up like a regular human.
  8. Blacktron really needs a full comeback, period, especially with so many characters over the years that keep hinting at the theme. M-Tron had a great color scheme but Lego has not included magnets in sets anymore so that would be an odd revival. Unitron featured a monorail and nice colors but I can't remember what their original mission was. Spyrius was cool in their color choices and early usage of robots and 'saucers'. Roboforce was a decent subtheme that passed under the radar at the time but I can imagine the designs using today's techniques being very awesome and possibly better than Exoforce. I wouldn't mind at least seeing a UFO inspired character appear in the Collectable Minifigures line.
  9. If you're gonna travel, do it in style!
  10. I like the tranquil garden with all its little details.
  11. Yet another nicely inspirational MOC of yours, Kristel. Clean lines, good choice in colors, and great design all-around.
  12. I love dioramas with a passion especially Space themed ones such as this. In my opinion, M-Tron is just as iconic as Blacktron and it would be sweet to see either make a full comeback same as Space Police did some years ago. Anyway, my favorite part is the Blacktron guy 'hitching a ride' at the front of the monorail. Haha. There are plenty of great little details spread across this nice build to look at.
  13. This is definitely an intriguing sounding contest. I think the most difficult part will be coming up with a design that incorporates every theme I enjoy.
  14. Modulars and large scale exclusives at the Lego store seem to be the only sets with any sort of baseplate anymore since 2011 or 2012 which is especially frustrating when trying to build your own modular type of house. Considering how many bricks you can get with something like the large Town Hall on top of the 32x32 tan baseplate, including one in a set doesn't always seem to increase price by much. While you can purchase a few 32x32 baseplates separately from Lego, I think trying to find any 16x32 baseplates will just exponentially increase in difficulty quickly and those to me are usually more useful than 32x32's.
  15. You are the absolute master of beautifully captured curves in a medium of bricks. Another amazing rendition.
  16. This hair piece in dark brown. And this one in black. Come to think of it, it would be nice to see numerous hairpieces be released in varying natural colors they have not already been used to death in as some do seem to keep repeating certain shades again and again.
  17. I am glad there are free to download digital versions of every set of instructions but the page setup is confusing with many sets having the same 'book' available as two different downloads even though when downloaded, they are exactly the same. My biggest complaint is the resolution and quality of the images being very low, and the colors for the most part seem poorly defined as in appearing too dark or too light, or the wrong shade altogether. Sometimes I can't even make out what a certain piece is on the parts list let alone which color it is supposed to be. Translucent bricks are the worst with black and the different shades of gray not far behind. Some of the blues are difficult to spot just as well.
  18. This is simply superb. I swear I can hear the transforming sound effect from the cartoon when scrolling through the images.
  19. That "Micro" Manager is just wicked awesome. It's enough to give anyone the same face Emmet has in that shot if they were a minifigure. Haha.
  20. I have built both Mega Bloks and Kre-O sets in the past, and Kre-O has the best quality plastic between them almost up to par with Lego. I just do not care for their Kreons of people although the Transformers ones are neat. Mega Bloks has some of the better licenses and characters with some posability but even so, they aren't that great. Plus Mega Bloks take a lot of force getting any piece to go together especially plates. I honestly wonder if that Star Craft license they acquired years ago will ever kick in?
  21. A couple more ideas for the Collectable Minifigures line. Gender: Female Occupation/print on torso: Flower Child (basically a female companion to the Series 7 Hippie) Type of headgear: this hairpiece or this one or this one in blonde or dirty blonde coloring Type of facial expression: peaceful (somewhat similar to Series 8 Fairy) Color on torso/legs: 70's flower print pattern, legs look like bell bottoms Accessory: bouquet of flowers same as Series 7 Hippie, maybe this hand basket to set those in Gender: Male Occupation/print on torso: Troll/Orc Warrior (A throwback to Fantasy Era Castle not Lord of the Rings) Type of headgear: this helmet in dark gray (I actually like these; they have a D&D look to them.) Type of facial expression: classic Fantasy Era troll/orc face with more modern details like a couple of a scars Color on torso/legs: sand green skin with some chains, brown leather, and bits of metal plating Accessory: battle scarred Scimitar, breastplate, and either this shield or this one in dark gray with marks of age and battle
  22. That was part of my inspiration aside from the Series 1 Ninja. I figure for a future series, we could have a female companion character maybe. Thanks, it is one of my better ideas. Ha. I would like to see more classic Castle type of characters pop up or get referenced in the Collectable Minifigures line. The Heroic Knight and Evil Knight were great; now we just need a Royal King and Queen for a future series. Maybe even a Dragon Rider or something.
