  1. I rather like the exposed Technic; it adds to the industrial feel and the excellent overall atmosphere of this MOC. And I don't really mind the ruined stonework look...until I think of it as Cloud City, and then it sort of doesn't fit, as others have said. Maybe cover them with some tiles arranged to look like deteriorating metal plating? Or a tangle of pipes and wires?
  2. I like the story and the use of stonework and other older techniques (in-universe) in Star Wars. But I think you've got a lot of color in the plants and a lot of color in the sloop; I'd tone down one of them. (Depending on which you want as the focal point.) Some greebles would probably really help the look of the sloop and its barely-working backstory.
  3. No, what I'm saying is that I could roleplay, and I usually do a little bit at least at the beginning, before it becomes a distraction, but since no one expects me to roleplay now, I don't do even the little bit at the beginning since I don't enjoy it and it does distract me even at that time. There are some times, though, when I'll purposely do the no-roleplaying thing because I think it would be hilarious, like the "I didn't pay attention to character gender" post.
  4. These look great. Great job rendering all the curves and little greebles at this scale.
  5. I love reading your posts whenever someone else posts about purchases or army building or the like. Isn't Brickplumber's a Docking Bay 327 from Star Wars, not from Jedi?
  6. I love seeing all these improvements and variations, Dapper-D2! I like the nose on this one, with the sleeker design and the harder-edged nose and the stickers that all flow very nicely together. Constructive criticism, I think the wings are a bit busy. You've got curves and angles and tiles and studs and grilles and turntable bases and stickers and chrome and white and gold and grey and dark green — it's a little on the chaotic side. I suggest removing the turntable bases and the pearl gold, and then decide whether to tile it all over or leave more of it studded. Keep up the good work with the new and improved renditions!
  7. It doesn’t have the distinctive organic look of a Mon Cal ship, but it still looks very plausible as a Star Wars craft and as a Rebel ship — reminds me a bit of the Recusant-class. I see the resemblance to the Mon Cal inspiration, I see lots of the angular style typical of the Original Trilogy, and there’re those exposed crates near the nose that remind me of the Gallorfree transports. Very smooth, with tasteful use of stickers and colors. I love those protruding trans-blue angular bubbles on the sides; though I can’t decide whether they look more like hangar bays or really big viewing galleries. Maybe they’re both.
  8. K-nut should try to get the the Zirconia just because it's the only gem right now that he doesn't have.
  9. Haven't gotten my second character yet. I did say that I wanted to try to roleplay more once I get that second character.
  10. OoC: Shouldn't I have taken a Free Hit and Counterstruck Lady Marsh? Scroll casting doesn't prevent Free Hits. I repeat.
  11. Not-roleplaying is the roleplaying expected of Brickdoctor, not just of Docken, and even if I can roleplay and accept that not-roleplaying is roleplaying, the fact remains that roleplaying is not something I like to do, so if I'm not expected to roleplay because not-roleplaying is the role I'm expected to play, then there's little reason for me to roleplay anything other than not-roleplaying.
  12. I don't see why those would be mutually exclusive. CW figures cost money to include just like regular 'figs do and are minifigs just like the regular ones are; I see no reason why choosing to include one or the other would affect how many play features could be added.
  13. I attack Lord Marsh from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow.
  14. Acceptable pictures are those that aren't stamped with the 'Confidential' mark. (And this of course includes images that have been cropped to exclude that mark.) Brickipedia is a fan site, a wiki that many different users can edit. What they post is not necessarily approved by TLG and may or may not be reliable information about future products, and their members can post false or confidential info just like members could on EB. That information is presented in a wiki format instead of a forum format, but that doesn't mean that it is TLG-approved or confirmed.
  15. No, roleplaying is done in mafia. Hosts set up a themed situation and send their players short bios of their characters. Many players do at least initially roleplay, and it isn't looked down upon. What is looked down upon is using roleplaying for an attempted logical argument (because in a well-hosted game, the roles and the characters are randomized and have nothing to do with each other) or using roleplaying in a way that distracts and contributes nothing. This usually leads to the roleplaying decreasing later in the game as there are more important things demanding your attention. Whether this is mafia or not (And mafia is much much closer to this than Heroica RPG is.), many of the same principles and concepts of mafia still apply to this game. Just because it's not advertised as true mafia doesn't mean that we former/veteran mafia players should abandon everything we've learned through mafia that can be applied to this game.
  16. Huh, I noticed the same thing starting yesterday for me, never happened before. (Safari 5.1.9, OS X 'Snow Leopard' 10.6.8) I had assumed it had something to do with the terrible hotel internet I'm using right now.
  17. Most likely not for this wave. We usually get the allowed pictures from Toy Fair for the Summer Wave, and the one convention reveal for the Winter Wave (The AT-AP in this case.), and then that's it for allowed pictures until the clean final product pictures are posted by TLG (or found by GRogall) much closer to the release.
  18. You return to the stables. Sir Zigirôhîn lowers his sword. "I see. I do not believe we ever said we were planning on establishing a settlement, though." "Eh, you cannot expect Shawe to have told his soldiers everything. "We don't need any food or information; our leader is meeting with Shawe right now, and we have plenty of food. Come in, please, lest the Pongcanae spot you. Have you had breakfast yet?" "Yes. Saeavel, Lord Elerylian, let us go." Nerwen, Arthur, you return to the inn with the three other elves, where you find Boomingham and Sir Isaac speaking with Sir Kadarphazân and Lord Bârbêthân. "Calaryl." "Good day, Lady Calaryl. I believe this is everyone?" "I believe so. Heroes, you asked for us to meet to discuss working together to establish a new government in R'kilf. What is your plan?"
  19. I used to roleplay during mafia just like I roleplayed during Heroica, but then I stopped roleplaying as the games went on and became known for not-roleplaying, so I can actually roleplay, but I've not-roleplayed a lot, so not-roleplaying is expected and even though I can roleplay if I want to roleplay I avoid roleplaying because I'm supposed to not-roleplay because I've established not-roleplaying as the way that I play the roles of my characters, so not-roleplaying becomes roleplaying and even though I'm not roleplaying I'm not not-roleplaying because I'm still roleplaying not-roleplaying.Same applies to this game. Plus the roleplaying gets more difficult and more of a distraction as you start to learn more and the pace of the game speeds up.
  20. Indeed. Merging......and done.
  21. Mafia/Heroica/Pseudo-Heroica-Mafia is just a game. It takes you and your friends, pits you against each other, and in its most basic concept it requires you to distrust and/or lie to most or all of the other players, but it's still just a game. If you choose to be insulted or driven away by the way the game is played, then that is your reaction and no one else is really forcing you to do that. And in any case, I don't really think that this is the right time or place to rant about it, in the middle of the game. If you have any complaints about the game or the players in it, best to save it for the conclusion.
