The generally accepted explanation for the 'use multiple smaller bricks instead of one larger brick' issue is that if it can be done, it can save TLG money on the packaging side of things by making the parts inventory simpler. (But in this case, I don't know if that's the reason, since I don't know if there are other 1x1 or 1x4 bricks in brown in the set.)

I know I haven't been paying close attention to this forum for the past couple of weeks, but that still doesn't mean you can post about sets you want to see or think we'll see in the rumors topic...

As this is a 'What should I buy?' question, I'll merge it with General Questions... ...and done. -

I hand Monk Pretzel my Scroll of Arc Sleep for 150 Gold.

Even though I already have it, yellow original Luke is awesome enough that I kind of want to buy the book now. Retro version of the original hero: it's the perfect choice for an exclusive minifig in a book that's all about minifigs.

Player index updated. Welcome! -
The original source of the rumor had the $299.99 price.

I do not stop what I'm doing and I do not look at the door, because no one else controls my actions. I don't sense anything about the door and I neither care about nor care for whoever or whatever is there. I don't brace myself for anything because no one else knows what my beliefs about what to expect might be. Since no one else dictates my actions, I didn't stop what I was doing in the first place, therefore there's nothing for me to resume doing again.

I think that by the time Flipz hosts his quest, the models I built are going to be unsupported by LDD.

Yes, you are correct, the 'real' X-wings are supposed to have the off-centered aft portion of the engines. (another nice close-up view here) -
Nice, thanks, Brickmamba. I like the weathering and the shaping a lot better on this one; the angles seem more accurate just off of my first impressions. I'm also in the 'wish it had fewer studs' camp, purely because I don't like a lot of studs on pretty much anything, but I'm happy to have plates instead of bricks if it means that the more complex angles in this edition are possible with TLG's strength requirements. I'm not a huge fan of the chains used on the front door. Makes it look too much like a castle drawbridge.

Aren't the new 'laser missile' launchers spring-loaded? Not the hand-held stud launchers, but the 1x4 bricks that shoot transparent rods.
-
It would make sense if the springs lost some of their power over time from being constantly compressed, I suppose. I don't remember the old blunt shooters ever being significantly negatively affected, though, although I can't say I stored them that way too often.
-
By the way, how did you do the inward angling of the gun barrels? Is it just stressing of the connection to the bracket?

Topics like this remind me of how much I need to rebuild my version of the T-47 so I can display it on my shelf again. This looks great.

Um, yes? Sorry, I'm not sure what the intent of your question is. If you meant it as a plain literal question, then, yes; I've read plenty of EU over several years. -

We actually used the Death Star to blow up two planets, the first of which was Despayre, thereby ridding the galaxy of many dangerous fairly-convicted criminals serving life sentences there. -
Welcome to EB. On EB, we don't do topics with lots of MOCs or mods in them; we have separate topics for each MOC/mod. However, we do have an MOC Index with a section dedicated to mods sorted by set number, so it shouldn't be hard to find a mod of a set, if one has been posted on EB.

Well, that's annoying. They split up the Boba Fett helmet mold into two new pieces, but they change the Snowtrooper helmet mold into one piece that's not extremely necessary and one brick-built combo that looks just as bad as the Sandtrooper backback. The only use I see for this mold is in applications where the trooper is sitting in a seat, or in animations where the head needs to turn, and the new mold is quickly substituted in for the old one with a camera angle where you can't see the backpack.
