This was impressive in LDD and even more so now that you've built it. The fact that I know it's real makes those curves look even smoother and cleaner.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

I'll merge this with General Questions... ...and done. -
Please don't bump a topic from two years ago just to say 'nice MOC'. Thanks.

Making a Cantina character into an exclusive promo minifig and then putting no new aliens into the Cantina set aside from the Bith would not exactly be good for AFOLs' opinion of TLG.

Same. I got started on one that ran on Javascript just as a side project last summer (Flipz tested a couple versions for me.), and got as far as the calculator working for Barbarians and Clerics with Rogues being worked on, but the effects were being changed and created faster than I could write functions for them and there were so many variables that had to be different for each class that it was just taking too long to write all the different equations for all the different possibilities.

I just list the "Power Bonus" in my stats as part of the grey explanation calculations for the stat. The QM can choose whichever version is easier to use for him.

I really like this idea. (Either this one or the one with only the top five scores.) It's like the Risk battle system, my top two dies against your two dies, and we know that that works.
-
I don't think the scoring should take into account all the members of a faction. It brings up the issue of determining who counts as active and who doesn't, and it will also force members to consider a commitment to regular building when signing up. From my experience with Heroica, a lot of members when signing up were concerned about whether or not the inability to continuously participate might disqualify them or negatively affect their character (beyond just the loss due to inactivity of potential stat gains)

If that's going to be your attitude towards posting on EB, then with all due respect, I think you can expect to get the response you've been getting on EB. If you think you can't be bothered to "waste time" "just to post a few images", then I think other members are completely justified in criticizing your presentation.

Welcome to EB.

All right, as a reminder directed a no one in particular: relevant parts of the Member Guidelines: This sort of response doesn't seem necessary. All he was doing was saying that he didn't think the concept would pass as a LEGO set. He's just telling you what about the project needs improvement. If you don't want constructive criticism, then you should probably say so beforehand. And as has been said, yes, you do have the ability to post images, you're just choosing not to sign up for the right websites — there's no reason why you can't embed CUUSOO images or sign up for flickr; you don't need to get defensive just because some members are telling you what would make your topic better. It doesn't seem that much like an advertisement to me; it seems more like he decided to post it on CUUSOO and not on any other sites and didn't embed any images. It's not the best of presentations, no, but he's telling people to go to CUUSOO to check out his creation, not to vote for it, and it is only one link. This, exactly this. So, remember that you're probably going to get some criticism, that constructive criticism is a good thing, that you can't control what people say about your MOCs, only how you respond, that being polite is still important for both parties in regards to constructive criticism, and that there's no need to attack or insult people.

We've (the SoNE team) discussed changing the scoring system before, but I think it might be best if I asked what you guys thought — you are, after all, the ones who are trying to build so that your team will win when the scoring system is applied. I know Kaitan recently suggested taking only the top five scores. That seems like it might discourage some builders from participating when the same top builders are the ones who matter episode after episode. We originally developed the current system with the intent that it would favor the faction whose builders helped their teammates to build better, by having the average in there, but keep some element that would prevent a faction with only one or two entries from beating a faction with a lot of entries. I was leaning towards just scrapping the attempt to balance things out in a complicated manner and just have the faction's scores be the total of all the individual scores. With the two rounds of judging, I think it'd still be able to avoid having one faction 'spam' low quality builds, since each builder only gets one entry anyways.

We do intend to make some changes, but there wasn't time to finalize it before this episode started. -
SoNE Contest Episode III: Return to Echo Base
Brickdoctor replied to Lobot's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Well, this is embarrassing...apparently, not only can I not do simple math, but I can't read the rules I helped draw up. I think this is correct, right? Empire (23+21+19+15+14+6+5+5+2)/9+18 = 30.22 Points Alliance (22+21+19+17+16+6+5+3+3+3+3)/11+22 = 32.73 Points -
SoNE Contest Episode III: Return to Echo Base

Congratulations, Empire! I'll be updating player profiles soon. If you won a Wampa tag and previously had a tag from one of the Community Builds, let me know which one you'd like to keep. (They'll both still be displayed in your profile in the SoNE character index, but you can only have one of them at a time on your EB profile.) -
System-scale is not one single defined scale; it's used to refer to the sizes TLG chooses to make the sets of its normal wave at, intended for use with minifigs but not necessarily to-scale with them. In the case of the X-wing, the last few System-scale models have ended up being a bit larger than minifig scale, but the difference isn't that noticeable. The two scales really matter when it comes to large playset ships. (For example, the upcoming ISD is obviously not even close to minifig scale, but it's designed so that it can be used with minifigs, so it's System-scale,) The name 'System-scale' just comes from the fact that the 'normal' sets used to have the LEGO System logo on the box.

That purple alien...it looks like something from a children's Halloween cartoon. I appreciate the attempt to do concept-art-Chewie, but why purple? It's most likely this piece under the dome with his head poking through it.

I hand Fabian the Canteen for 25 Gold. "The appearance of the cloak doesn't affect its powers, however. It still provides immunity to three elements, something that would cost 450 Gold to create during the rare instances when Elphaba is around. I know you might want to decrease the price to convince people to buy your artifact instead, since imbuing can be applied to any artifact, not just this one cloak, so you might charge just the cost of the materials and not the labor, but that's still 300 Gold. How about 150 for the cloak?"

Exclusives usually aren't in the retailer catalogs or at toy fairs. Sometimes the bigger ones will be unveiled at conventions, and sometimes we see advertisements for them in the instruction booklets of the normal sets.
