LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Brickdoctor replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Agreed. Don't get me wrong, I love studless, but we all know that TLG is proud of the stud and wants lots of studs on their sets, so I'm really not surprised whenever there are lots of studs on a set. I'll bet that that's the special polybag 'fig of 2012. May the 4th and LEGOLAND Star Wars Weekend are my guesses as to where it'll appear. -
He must be the bad guy. He has a goatee.

Heroica RPG - Quest#14: The Family Recipe
Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Considering the high Level of the enemies, Thothwick, I suggest you retrieve your Shuriken so you can attack from the Back Row next Round. Let me target Red Dawn, since my hat is effective against him and Bright Day. I attack Red Dawn from the Back Row. We do have five heroes and four enemies, so we can have two heroes target one enemy if we have to. If not all enemies are targeted once all actions are in, I'll target whichever enemy is not targeted, instead. -

You peer through your telescope at the nearby land. The dust continues to rise to the east, and you can faintly hear the sound of large wheels rumbling over rocks and of many feet (or hooves) marching in perfect synchronization. You can tell that this is clearly a display of force, uncharacteristic for elves, but nothing the late Lord Keveak wouldn't have done. You see no sign of movement in the forest, but, considering that the enemies are forest elves, you realize that that means little. -
Congratulations, and thanks, Macoco and SI! I think the Sci-Fi Regulator rank graphic looks a little odd without any obvious LEGO- or EB-related image in it, though, and without the text being bold white stroked in black.

When are you taking the survey, Tammo? You Are A: Lawful Good Elf Ranger/Cleric Ability Scores: Strength- 12 Dexterity- 13 Constitution- 10 Intelligence- 17 Wisdom- 14 Charisma- 12 Alignment: Lawful Good- A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment when it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest. Race: Elves are known for their poetry, song, and magical arts, but when danger threatens they show great skill with weapons and strategy. Elves can live to be over 700 years old and, by human standards, are slow to make friends and enemies, and even slower to forget them. Elves are slim and stand 4.5 to 5.5 feet tall. They have no facial or body hair, prefer comfortable clothes, and possess unearthly grace. Many others races find them hauntingly beautiful. Primary Class: Rangers- Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions. A ranger's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast. Secondary Class: Clerics- Clerics act as intermediaries between the earthly and the divine (or infernal) worlds. A good cleric helps those in need, while an evil cleric seeks to spread his patron's vision of evil across the world. All clerics can heal wounds and bring people back from the brink of death, and powerful clerics can even raise the dead. Likewise, all clerics have authority over undead creatures, and they can turn away or even destroy these creatures. Clerics are trained in the use of simple weapons, and can use all forms of armor and shields without penalty, since armor does not interfere with the casting of divine spells. In addition to his normal complement of spells, every cleric chooses to focus on two of his deity's domains. These domains grants the cleric special powers, and give him access to spells that he might otherwise never learn. A cleric's Wisdom score should be high, since this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast. Seems to make sense to me, though I would never pass as a Heroica Ranger. I said that animals were delicious instead of 'should be treated with respect'. I was already playing mafia when Heroica was announced, so I signed up.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Brickdoctor replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah, I realize that. As Fallen said, this is the standard-issue pilot's helmet. I was just saying that the most well-known of them is the Dack, and he's who most people think of when they see the helmet with the blue crests. -
Fixed. Masked's autocorrect is probably at fault. (which is why I always disable mine )

The most well-known of the blue-crested pilots is Dack Ralter, but I'd bet he's just a plain pilot. -
Ooh, subtracting XP and bringing in a massive army to battle them? That's a good idea. Thanks.

Althior, you expend 1 Ether to carve a hole in a large piece of rock, then expend 1 more Ether to soften all the scrap metal that William places inside the hole. "Not a single one, sorry." You realize that you're going to need a stronger source of power than a hand crank if you hope to lift siege engines up. -
LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
Brickdoctor replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I think TLG's fear is/was that kids would add parts that don't exist at all or do other things with the program that can't be done with LEGO in real life. -
These commands that you're editing into the POV-Ray file can be used for MegaPOV, too, right? (same file type, I believe)

Brickdoctor replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If anyone really wants to see those pics, you can PM me your e-mail address and I'll send them to you. (to avoid posting on the Internet anywhere - this will just be file transfer for personal private use) (but FBTB's full coverage of Toy Fair should be up by Monday morning, anyways) -
One-hundred forty-six of your posts are in the Star Wars forum as far as I can tell with the Advanced Search method, so you're good.

Personally, Bricksandparts, I think you're adding too many stats to the game. What I try to do in Quest 17 is take what the players do and adapt that to current stats and mechanics, rather than add new ones.

I attack Red Dawn from the Back Row. -
In marketing, yes, it does matter. If parents are seeing a bigger box, they might think they're getting a better deal. Bigger boxes also allow for more space to put all that eye-catching artwork. Also, for those unaware of the change who have been buying LEGO for a long time, they might look at was once the standard box size for $10 sets, see that it's being sold for $20, and think they're paying way too much.
-
Now he goes with the 'oh, it was my younger <insert relative here> who wrote that' approach.
-
I think they've been around for a while. I remember seeing them sometime in the middle of last year. Personally, looking at that picture of the German truck on the front page, I think their edges are too evident, (especially on the black minifig's torso) but I guess that's because they're made for kids who aren't going to be applying watersides.
-
Nice work, ACPin. I like the use of the engine pieces, and those crates are simple but work so well.
-
I agree, this one looks better than your last. I think you got the shaping done better than last time, especially on the back end where you've gone studless with the curved slopes.

QM Note: Wait, you're going to forge helmets?! Realistically, you shouldn't have anything close to the necessary blacksmith skills to do that. Shields and pikes should be okay, since you can just hammer those out, but...
