Dear Dak, Good to hear from you, my boy! Hero, now, eh? That's terrific. Always intended to be one, myself, but you can't say no to 70 Gold an hour to sit at a desk and give orders to guards, right? A government job of sorts, it comes with a great and retirement plan and health insurance. Goodbye Heroica, hello money! In a few years, I can leave the Shadeaux behind and buy myself a nice estate on one of the more remote Free Islands. You'll have to come visit when that happens, and bring all your hero friends, too. Love, Uncle Isaac

I attack Red Dawn from the Back Row. -
His name just screams 'human', too.

I'm tempted to ask Capt.JohnPaul to actually send elves after you and Knock you Out, Leo.
-
Leo Aragon, Keveak's followers are currently encamped somewhere near Bric'Bay Fort. Brobric itself is under my control, now. Keveak's army and his lieutenants have been driven out, while Ricroar's staff members have been given a fair chance at taking their old positions under this new rule. In short, you have the wrong address. Lord Normorn
-
I was just about to ask that. The Brobric Elves don't worship Zoot. I haven't picked a deity for them to worship, but if I had to, it'd be Sylvania.
-
Master Aragon, Don't deceive yourself into thinking that, just because you supported our actions to instigate the Elven-Lion War, you actually know someone in the Shadeaux ranks well enough to inquire about our profits and the condition of our leaders. You're not the first hero we've deceived, and you certainly won't be the last. Whether you support our deception or not, you're just another hero, to be hired and forgotten once the job is done. Isaac Shawe Slightly Less Dearly Beloved Second in Command of Security, House of Shadeaux

I'm trying to decide if Leo's annoying or hilarious. Interesting idea, Sandy. I don't think there's anyone I want to contact, but I'll try to think of someone.

I believe you missed Shadows' character. (the Barbarian with the Slave Leia torso)

Chibi builds aren't recreations. They're more of adaptions. They don't attempt to recreate the characters as shown in the movies. Rather, they adapt the characters to a different style. (unless, of course, they are modeled after someone else's Chibi characters, LEGO or otherwise, in which case they are recreations of that other Chibimodel and contain no artistic interpretation as far as adapting the character to Chibi style is concerned - rather, whoever built the reference model is then the person who took artistic interpretation in adapting the character, but he didn't recreate it) Artistic interpretation is mostly found in smaller things, like the oversized engine glow in my Mini ARC-170, which is there only for the reason that it looks cool. When you change something into a completely different style, such as when you build a Chibi version of a character, you are taking artistic interpretation in an adaption, not a recreation. In any case, I think it's clear that this MOC is meant to be a recreation. Oky's saying that when you build a recreation, you should try to be as accurate as possible. Of course, if this MOC wasn't intended to be a recreation, then that doesn't matter... I do agree that a certain amount of artistic interpretation should be allowed, but I don't think that it should or can be used as justification for large inaccuracies, such as filling a large section of a model or shortening an entire engine. (not that I can really judge the accuracy of this model, since it's from the movie that I never watch and try to avoid ) In that case, if the model was intended to be a recreation, those are merely inaccuracies that the builder should attempt to correct, not artistic interpretations. Of course, we all have our own definitions and goals as far as the preciseness of our preferred level of accuracy and how far we'll go to achieve it, but I'm just saying that I don't think Chibi builds count as artistic interpretation in recreation where Oky's statement is concerned.

Oh, come now, you're not in the middle of nowhere! I have two maps that show you where you are! And Sandy said every hero would be able to participate.

OOC: Thormanil (swils) is still listed at 15/22 HP. I attack Red Dawn from the Back Row. -
MegaBloks, now I'm going to be staying up a few hours later than when I should be asleep checking to see if you've posted that.

Nice work, JimB! I'm loving the window. I do think the columns need to go all the way up to the top of the vig, though.

With preparations finalized, you await the enemy. As it turns out, you don't have to wait that long, as, Arthur, you spot elves who have reached the grassy plains just east of the fort. Along with the expected warriors charging towards the river, you see a pair of elves in unusually heavy armor setting up what looks like a torsion-powered catapult. "Sir! We've got a large elven force, including what appears to be an onager, set to cross the river to the east. In addition, a small elven force has penetrated the forest and threatens our western defenses." PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Enemies to the West: Elven Scout A Type: Humanoid Level: 3 Health: 20/20 Special: Spotter - The Elven Scout relays information to his allies concerning the current state of the fort's defenses. Siege weapons and Archers will deal 150% Damage during the next Round. Drops: Potion Elven Archer A Type: Humanoid Level: 4 Health: 25/25 Special: Grappling Hooks - The Elven Archer uses his bow to shoot ropes over the wall or tower being attacked, enabling his allies to scale the wall. Note: The Hiyaaaaaa Hwacha must take a Turn after each attack to reload - this need can be eliminated by assigning a second Operator to the weapon. Spag Bitterstalk, Level 3 Barbarian (Kenghis Ghan) Power: 6 Health: 10/10 Gold: 0 Inventory: Crude Splinterwood Club (WP: 3), Standard-Issue Halberd (WP: 1;Total Damage doubled against mounted enemies and enemies scaling walls, Potion, Mead Slice N Dice Blockade Operated by Spag Level: 1/10 Health: 15/15 Ammunition: Sharpened wood Note: The Slice N Dice Blockade starts at Level 1, and gains 1 Level for every Turn a hero operates it, with a maximum possible Level of 10. If possible, the Blockade loses a Level for every Turn no one operates it. The Slice N Dice Blockade cannot move, and can only melee attack. Party Leader, choose the order of action. All of you, choose your targets and the row you want to fight in. Also mention if you want to try to flee, move, heal, or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking. Any enemy not targeted will get a Free Hit on the party after everyone have acted. QM Note: Yes, I realize that the onager is typically a torsion-powered Roman-era engine with a sling. However, there did exist onager's with buckets, and the medieval term, mangonel, could sometimes refer to a larger engine which I don't yet want to rule out as a possibility to be introduced in this quest. The concept of the engineer was shamelessly stolen from Jebediahs. Also, I added an Ammunition stat to the Slice N Dice, currently listed as armed with sharpened wood, since it occurs to me that a simple way to upgrade it would be to change the objects attached to the ropes. -
Same here, on both accounts. I like the outfit Docken already has, so he's just getting a new shield. Same thing he had in the picture for Historica.

Ish. Give or take five seconds or so. It's been years since I last watched Sith. Seriously, this fighter gets very, very little screen time. Which is a pity, because I thought it was one of the better PT designs. It's quite angular, which I like. If the Battle of Coruscant hadn't been so concentrated on special effects that it had eleventy-one gazillion ships in it, the Alpha-3 could have been developed into a much more recognizable fighter.

QM Note:Actually, they're all waiting for me to finish building the Slice N Dice Blockade. -
Agreed. I go out for a couple hours, and I come back to four pages of discussion about flirting with other heroes. It is nice to see more original players back in the game, though, especially when we're talking experienced players of a class very much in demand among QMs. Welcome back, Rufus!

Heroica RPG - Quest #17: The Lion's Share
Brickdoctor replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
QM Note:Of course. -
I'm using it as a comparison for price. The fact that Star Wars is licensed balances out the fact that the new minifig doesn't require any new molds, plus the Star Wars minifig is in all likelihood European plastic, while the CMFs are Chinese. I'm just using it as a general guideline - $2-$3 is a reasonable price per minifig.
-
Actually, by the golden 10:1 parts per dollar ratio, three hundred pieces would be a $30 increase. Two minifigs for $5 is about what you'd pay for two CMFs. So this is a very reasonable increase in price, considering the increase in size.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Brickdoctor replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Remember that we didn't know about Pre Vizsla's fighter until very recently. Maybe Wal-Mart decided they wanted TLG to show the set, and whoever's carrying Palpy's Arrest didn't. (probably TRU) -
There really isn't much action to see. Supposedly, it appears in the background in the Battle of Coruscant, but I've never really looked for it or seen it. Then at the very end of the movie, it gets about ten seconds of TIE Fighter-duty, escorting Palpy's shuttle and flying by the Imperial Venators.
