Agreed. I'm trying to do just that, but it's hard when you always have to wait for the Party Leader to do things.

Since I'm hosting a quest like that, I want to say that I considered requiring the heroes to do things like start fires and find food, but I think that's getting too in-depth and will detract from the battles.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Brickdoctor replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
He's been spamming CUUSOO links in the Pirate forum already and was told to stop. I reported the post about an hour ago already, so back to discussion of these beautiful new sets! Personally, I'm still not that impressed with any of the other sets. (other than the Palace). I'll probably pick up Bespin and the skiff for the minifigs, but the others aren't that appealing, really. -

Very preliminary. I think the retailer's catalog is more than a couple months old now. We should have pictures from Toy Fair within the weekend, anyways. -

Heroica RPG - Quest #17: The Lion's Share

You turn over a kitchen table* and dive behind it. You realize that, in the event that William does something particularly damaging, the table will afford an SP of 1.QM Note: * -
Nevertheless, it's an illegal connection because it stresses the plastic and isn't secure enough for your average kid to play with.I like this idea. Though, of course, I'm not really a fan of the huge sticker.

QM Note:I think he wants you to melt down the iron. Though he still hasn't confirmed where he's going to put that iron. -

QM Note: Roleplaying is fine, but let's not forget about the battle. If the voice-in-the-sky isn't in a good mood and you're taking a long time, he might decide that you used up your reasonable amount of time chatting and send an army after you. But on a serious note, VolcanicPanik asked you to do something, Althior, and you haven't even expressed an opinion regarding it. I don't want to rush you, but I know we all want to get back to the action before this turns into another one of my epics. I'm already seeing a good chance of hitting seventy-five pages with this Quest. -

Yeah, I liked the Technic half-pin gun from 2010's Slave I better. But, then again, the half-pin is such a common piece. If I buy this set, I can just replace the hilt with the half-pin, and now I have a black hilt to add to my collection. (which are becoming more common nowadays, but I still don't have one and it's still a useful piece) -
I think the whole concept of D2C sets is a series of sets of such a high quality that you simply can't out and out describe one as better than the rest. They all have multiple strengths in different areas, and they're all equally incredible sets. The rating would have to come down to a person's individual theme preference. Some of them are parts packs, some are display models, some are functional, some are like playsets - the list goes on and on, but all the D2C sets are very strong at at least one thing.

The Curse of IMHOTEP - Conclusion
Brickdoctor replied to Pandora's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
You know, I've been trying to figure out the whole game why you told me I wasn't a dead weight. Never realized Pie put that there. In any case, yeah, I think I wasn't as active as I could've been. At the beginning, I had the crazy idea of trying to be slightly less active than I was in Gotham Mafia, so it would look like I was being active but not so active that it looked like I was trying too hard to be active to hide my scumminess the way I did in Gotham Mafia. (actually, I even considered playing like a sheep on purpose to try to get all the metagamers to leave me alive based on my playing like a sheep when I was Town in Baritones 3 and Bloodbrick 2; the other Scum quickly decided that was a bad idea, so I tried not to do that, but, obviously, I didn't end up playing the way I wanted to - I think I may be overthinking the strategy regarding metagaming ) -

No, I didn't.I responded to Foog saying that I wasn't told I was the Godfather, and that I thought I was a Goon. You then told me that I had a Godfather-like role and that I wasn't a dead weight. Then, after I posted my role PM, Pie said that that was a very descriptive way of saying that I didn't have a role. -

"Yes, but we make our cauldrons and pots from the same metal." One of the soldiers in the kitchen hands you a pair of leather gloves. QM Note: Since you're already using magic, you could use K-nut's Garnet to hollow out a rock or something to hold the molten metal. -

"Sure, but you do realize that you're going to melt a substance and then use a container of that same substance to contain it, right? And, no, I don't have any leather." -

You realize that you never specified where the iron would come from or how it would be contained in its liquid form. -
Ew. Fixed. Though if you go to LEGOLAND California (not sure about the other parks) and visit the free build area, those kids play with a virtually infinite supply of LEGO and drool. I can't bring myself to touch the LEGO there. Agreed. I'm not a huge fan of the new style of figures, but usually it's not too hard to convert them to an older style (usually just replacing the head with an appropriate yellow one and maybe a couple minor tweaks like adding a chromed lightsaber hilt), so I do usually end up buying for the figures. If I don't, I'm buying for the pieces, which are going to get sorted out for MOCs.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Brickdoctor replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's not secret; we know it was at the fair.I guess everyone decided that the Palace, Skiff, and Sub were the only things worth breaking the no-pictures rule for. It's only a few more days until we're flooded with pictures from the big New York Toy Fair, anyways. -
No, I have no superstitions concerning dice. Random number generators are better, anyways. (do they count as binary dice?)
-
On the subject of upgrades, I'm not really that good at creating stories, so, as with my quests, I go with the mechanics and practical upgrades and build the story around that. (Darths and Droids readers, were this a full-fledged traditional RPG, I'd probably create my characters a lot like Pete does)
-
No! It's awesome. I love the innovation you're bringing to this quest. Honestly, I would never have thought any of you would've attempted to build a hwacha from the materials provided.

I think all EB games are now team win. It makes it easier to risk your life to catch a Scum, and it prevents the good players from losing after being killed by metagaming killers. -
I can make that happen.
