Heroica RPG - Quest#14: The Family Recipe
Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Hurrah! We are victorious! Before we face the Wyvern, I will drink one of my bottles of Mead. -
Ah, yes. I forgot about the Watcher. I'm not sure if that isn't too many roles concentrated on one person, giving the Scum more to play with as far as other targets are concerned, but I suppose there isn't really a better option.
-
It was my fault, really. Looking back, my statement didn't make much sense. There are a couple others who's actions other than lurking are a bit suspicious, but none are suspicious enough to warrant a lynch in my eyes, so I'm not sure if I should present what I have at this point. There are many ways for Yasu to survive the Night. Actually, speaking as someone who has been Scum in multiple past situations, I think it would be likely for her to survive. The Scum want her gone, but they also know that's it's obvious that the Scum will want her gone. They know that the Town will want to get a chance to verify her, so they know that the Town will be likely to protect and investigate her. The Scum won't want to risk wasting a kill, so they won't try to kill her. Instead, they'll kill someone else who probably won't be protected (on Night 1, that'll probably be a metagame kill based on past situations) and block Yasu to make sure she can't use her action. Sort of a gut felling, eh?
-
Poor choice of wording on my part. You said that I was implying that Yasu is Scum, which I interpreted as you saying that I was certain that Yasu was Scum, even after the role claim. I'm saying that I'm not convinced that Yasu is Scum, but I still suspect that she is, and even after the role claim, I don't see a better option for the lynch.
-
I don't really know. She's done so many things today that don't seem very smart. I'm not implying that I think she's Scum. I don't trust her, and I don't want to gamble with the life of an investigative role. I'm just saying that, right now, she remains the most suspicious suspect in my eyes. I don't want to lynch her, but I'm just saying that I don't see a better option right now.
-
And what if you are Scum and you target another Scum? What if your target is lying to the third person who is checking to see if the actions match? What if that third person is Scum?
-
Sounds like someone is very eager to make herself seem important. Almost too eager. Were she Town, I think she wouldn't be in such a rush to tell you her role. Role Cop is a bad claim for Scum, but we've already established that she's inexperienced... I'm not sure. On one hand, I don't want to risk the Role Cop, but, on the other hand, she is far and away our best suspect right now. There are a couple others that I'm keeping an eye on, but none with as much against them as Yasu. The only mind game here is "What the MegaBloks does your statement mean?". Or are you saying that you know someone is a proactive Townie?
-
And what if they were both Scum? An investigative role is not something to be gambled for the chance of catching at best one Scum. Not on Day One.
-
Not really, other than hoping another suspect comes up or roleclaiming... This does change things, though it's no secret that roleclaiming is sometimes an easy and unverifiable way to escape a lynch for a Day. Let's wait and see what Norio and Ichirou say... Wait, let me get this straight: You just went and told two other people about your role? On Day One?
-
Personally, Yasu has avoided the accusations so many times that if she were to come out right now with a strong defense, I'd immediately think that someone else had told her what to say, and I'd think she would be even more likely to be Scum.

I attack Succubus from the Back Row. -
To be honest, I'm not sure anymore. She's made so many statements that avoid the accusation that I'm not sure anything could convince me she shouldn't be lynched.
-
Riiiiiight...You know, if you'd just said that initially, I might have believed you, but the fact that you kept avoiding the question and only now bring it up just makes me think that you're saying it because Norio said it was a plausible reason.
-
Wait, what? Have I missed something? When was there a mention of specific factions in the vision? I thought the vision showed there was only one Yakuza left. Also, in most similar situations I've read about, we're not supposed to try to find clues in pictures infer too much from what is retold to us.
-
Again, you fail to actually present a good defense. We know you made a MegaBloky defense. You admitted it yourself. Justifying it doesn't change anything. Okay, so you were surprised and defensive. Fine, I accept that. You still haven't presented any actual defense.
-
GM Note:That's what I get for copying your stats from your last battle with Briksandparts. Fixed.
-
You. Are. Not. Suspected. For. Inactivity. There was no reason you couldn't just tell us you'd be offline asleep. But I can't elaborate on that because, according to you, it's 'unfair', and because god has asked me not to. Then why don't you give us some good defenses? Stop trying to justify your statements by telling us how you thought the wrong thing. You just admitted that you made a suspicious statement and failed to make any sort of defense.

Heroica RPG - Quest #17: The Lion's Share
Brickdoctor replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
You fill in the existing spaces between the stakes in front of the East Wall. Siege engines will now be unable to reach the wall until the stakes are destroyed. You can't see anything on the horizon. Yet. -
You do realize that doesn't justify anything, right? Relations are of no importance in this situation and we shouldn't let roleplaying emotional attachment interfere with how we handle the situation. And the second part of your statement is utterly useless. That's a risk that's always there. Always. There can be no certainty in these situations. The only 'confirmed Templies' are dead Tempiles, and on Day 1 especially, there's usually never anything close to concrete evidence. If we're always afraid to lynch the wrong person, we might as well never vote. That explains nothing. Whether you thought through your statement or not, the fact remains that you said it. god has told me in private that I shouldn't use information from the time we were gathering together against you, so I won't mention again why that statement aroused my suspicion (besides, I'm tired of explaining it over and over again), so I'm going to base my suspicion on your reactions Today instead. Your statement that I have responded to here is really an admission of guilt. Your previous statements never directly addressed the accusations, you tried to get around them by saying they were technically invalid, and you acted as if your lynch was set in stone. That tells me that you really can't think of anything to disprove my theory and you're defending yourself with, as Ichirou says, whiny comments calling my accusations unfair. I know where my vote is going.

My guess is that bringing him back was Lucas' doing. 'Original vision' of giving Maul a bigger role and all that. -
You're kidding me, right? I have to say this again? You are not suspected for being quiet, and you are not suspected for saying you would be offline asleep. You are suspicious because you specifically told us not to suspect you. See my previous statements for more details. You're not lynched. (yet) You have been given the opportunity to assemble a defense. As of right now, you've basically said that you can't be awake all the time and that, technically, I might be metagaming*. Neither of those 'defenses' directly addresses the accusation against you. Not a single vote has been cast against you. (yet) Why are you acting as if you're as good as dead, instead of defending yourself? (giving up, by the way, is a Scum tell)*As if this was a game.
-
Why do you think the logic is faulty? Can you point out where it fails? I'm not sure what a 'day thread' is, but whether or not it should technically be done, the fact remains that you said something suspicious during the time when we were gathering together. In-universe, my character would know of it. I was there when you said it. Please tell me I don't have to explain this in two consecutive statements by me. I even outlined my suspicions earlier, not once mentioning inactivity:
-
Nobody said that Yasu was Scum because she said nothing. It has nothing to do with that. What's suspicious is that she specifically told us not to suspect her. There was no reason for her to say that unless she was afraid of being suspected. The only reasons for her to be afraid of being suspected are if she has something to hide or if she's a Templie and doesn't know what she's doing. (because she doesn't realize that true Templies have to suspect everyone else and she's probably also afraid to die even though she can still win in this situation if she dies) Right now, it seems to me that she's either selfish, very inexperienced, or Scum. If you could please go find the statement in which I said I was "so sure Yasu is a traitor", I'd be happy to explain it.
