  1. Both Z Cerberus and Fugazi already told everyone to stop discussing this issue. Stop.
  2. He's also selling pieces that he sourced himself, so I believe that it would depend on what conditions cavegod set that buyers of instructions would have to agree to. He's not trying to pass it off as his own work and he's not selling just the instructions. (And I assume he paid for the instructions from cavegod.)
  3. Oh, I forgot about that. Then that makes sense if it's half the Damage dealt for other classes; it equals the handicap of non-ranged classes who attack from the Back Row.
  4. I know, but if he's going to attack and not do any Damage, he can just do nothing and roleplay the attack. I disagree with allowing anybody to attcak without a weapon, Sandy. If there is any mechanical or statistical, non-roleplaying reason to attack without a weapon, then we shouldn't take away any advantage that Chi Monk has in being able to do that. Attacking without a weapon is a Chi Monk power; it shouldn't now be given to all the classes.
  5. If you don't want to be able to deal any Damage, I think you should just say, "I do nothing". You can always roleplay that you feinted an attack.
  6. Make sure it's fully cooked; we know that eating raw Teuthisal doesn't turn out well. But we do know that it looks like chicken.
  7. OoC: I'm not sure if you want to change Avery's Special or not, because anyone Immune to Instant KO is also Immune to Doomed. In the Fields, there was the enemy that Instantly KO'd after 3 Rounds, before Doomed was created, and Sandy said that I was immune to that, because Instant KO includes anything that would reduce a hero's HP to 0 ignoring all other factors, no matter how many Rounds it takes before it takes effect.
  8. "That is the basic situation, yes." "The grand army is currently camped on the outskirts of the city." QM Note: Okay, I've got fairly regular internet now, but that's because I'm out of town using hotel Wi-Fi. That means updates will come more often, but I can't actually move you anywhere. So feel free to question this guy more, and I'll try to give you more information more often."
  9. I agree. It doesn't need to be proportionately accurate. It needs to have a clear 'LEGOish' look and it needs to be instantly recognizable. Sometimes and often that means exaggerating some features and maybe cutting out some others.
  10. "We don't have to keep the citizens in line. The elves seem to have made controlling the city their mission, and they keep the citizens under control. The people rarely leave their buildings for fear of the Pongcanae anyways. "Other than Warlord Kaherdin and the mysterious leader of the Pongcanae, I myself don't know of many individuals."
  11. Yes, it's a key thing in building, not sacrificing too much of the aesthetics for accuracy. You do have to remember the accuracy, because an accurate model will often look aesthetically pleasing because it looks right. But an ugly (gappy, bad pattern of bricks, etc.) yet mostly accurate (in angles, in dimensions and proportions, in shape, etc.) model is still ugly.
  12. "We are here under the command of Warlord Kaherdin the Awesome."
  13. "I am not at liberty to discuss our numbers. The elves are similarly skillful at disguising their true numbers. Other than the Pongcanae, we've had some apparently drunken groups of villagers try to attack us, and the Lion Knights and the Hinckwells made their way near the village while checking out part of the Eubric Plains, and they were very heavily armed, but appeared to have no interest in the village."
  14. QM Note: Sorry, no specific quotes and replies to each hero; I'm still without normal Internet service and MultiQuote is a pain on mobile. "Sergeant Arthur Saunterton, 212th Battalion of the Grand Army of the Mopag Confederation, at your service. "I did in fact meet a team of new heroes just starting out their adventuring careers. A party led by one Master Tomas came to Mopag and met me in the fields. "The Pongcanae run unopposed through R'kilf -- inside the village, outside of it, it doesn't matter. But they seem to prefer to avoid engaging either the elves or us; I suppose that in this case what little the merchant was carrying wasn't worth the fight... "They say that there's a leader of the Pongcanae, an imposing beast of a humanoid, who subdued all the Pongcanis tribes in this area and organized them into this efficient raiding machine."

Soon enough, a squad of Mopag hoplites comes charging into view, their armor gleaming a brilliant but worn gold, the lead hoplite taking up a defensive position as his commander strides around the tree and wheels to face you. "Travelers, I am Commander Pinnock; we're tracking a pack of Pongcanae eastward across the plains." "The tracks lead away from the cart." "Look, sir! Pongcanae!" "You two, stay here and find out if the travelers saw anything. You two, come with me." "Three elves, three humans, and a dwarf, all armed... haha, it's been a long time since I've encountered heroes of Heroica!"
  16. Hybros attacks Clippard from the Back Row with his Sword of Ancestral Hatred twice. I attack Avery from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. Then if my HP is above 25, I use a Grand Potion. If I have rolled Aura or if my HP drops below 25, I use a Health Core. Order of Actions: Bartholomew Docken Bartholomew Docken Hybros Hybros
  17. I like the brick-wide fins. I like SNOT/brick wings and fins in pretty much everything. Especially in this case, the exposed studs (and the anti-studs on the bottoms of the plates making up the fins) sort of interrupt and ruin the sleek look and have enough of a negative effect in that way to negate the positive effect gained with thinner fins.
  18. Discussion of which minifig might be exclusive to a rumored book: fine. Discussion of minifigs you want in BPs, minifigs you want in Sith sets, clones that you want...: off-topic. We have a separate topic for that. Moving some posts... ...done.
  19. Breathes there the hero w' soul so dead,Who never to himself hath said, This is my own, my natural class! Whose heart hath ne'er within him burn'd As away his footsteps he hath turn'd From changing classes again at last! Interestingly, that poem was presented as a composition of a Minstrel. As for Minstrel songs, I don't mind the old-fashioned stereotypical character -- this is a fantasy game with players who make references to tropes on purpose. (Although I enjoy classical music, so maybe I'm the wrong person to ask.)
  20. Kha-rah...mah...tah.... Kha-rah...rah-tah-mah....It's a similar effect to the Nazgul Theme, but I think somewhat lessened since even watching Menace, you get the suspicion or the sense that the words don't actually have anything to do with the action in-universe whereas the execution of Fellowship and the way Tolkien fleshes out and presents his languages means that the words feel authentic. (Although Naboo as a whole feels very Earth-like, so not totally Williams' fault.) But in this case, the Duel of the Fates might be better as Minstrel music because it doesn't have as much of a strong emotion. Duel of the Fates seems to be epic and exotic, while the Nazgul Theme is just purely evil. And of course in the case of Heroica, there's no reason that both Sanskrit and Adunaic can't exist in-universe.
  21. Thanks. I hope the sunset horse riding shot turned out okay, not too fake. That's probably already one of the most complicated shots I've done for Heroica. The lighting was going to make it very hard to do in Photoshop, so the motion blur is something like a six second exposure at f/16 in low lighting, and then the set is on wheels and I'm dragging it and nudging the horse at the same time by hand. Then because the blur is already done in camera, compositing the sky became a combination of the wand tool, the pen tool, the lasso tool, and a blue channel-based mask like you might use with hair. As for Minstrel, I'll be happy as long as someone gets the Imperial March and the Nazgul Theme in. Neba-bitham-ma -gana-nane. Netab -daur!
  22. Dodonna. (Which actually makes a huge amount of sense when you also consider that they gave us Madine in the Home One set and Rieekan in the Echo Base set.)
  23. You run through the smoke and flames, your hands reaching down and grazing the burning wood as you grab the merchant's body. You run back to the grave, setting the body down as you take 15 Fire-elemental Damage and are inflicted with the Burning effect, taking 5 Damage for every action you perform. However, whatever higher incorporeal powers there may be in this world smile at your effort to give the merchant a proper burial at risk to your own Health, and you find 5 Gold that you had not previously noticed in the hole you had dug. Meanwhile, you hear the shouts that scared away the Pongcanae getting closer.
