Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion
Brickdoctor replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
That's perfect. A Moderator, Admin, or Star Wars Regulator can change it. I'll change it now.Update: Oh, unless you set your avatar as your EB avatar. Then I can use that image URL and whenever you change your EB avatar, the avatar embedded in the player index will change automatically. Those tags were given out for participation in one of our past Community Builds. There's a description of the Star Wars tags in the Main Star Wars Index. -

Trust me, it will make a lot of sense to use LDD instead of physical bricks when you see the episode. Plus, a major goal of this project is to help members help each other to improve their MOCs, and episodes can't always play to everybody's strengths. -

Digital MOCs are fine for free builds, and there will be at least a couple episodes that require digital MOCs. -

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours
Brickdoctor replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Sir Bur'dazgar gives a deep chuckle in response to your question. "Heh, we get visitors whether we want them or not! But I'm not sure when my captain will return from his meetings, and the rest of us are actually spread throughout the city checking out the situation here. I'm sure you'll encounter them if you look around." "The elves need to take responsibility for the city they claim to rule. They are too proud of their -urrr'- supposed infallibility." You figure that it will soon be noon. -

No, sorry, those can only be changed to reward participation in a CB. But there will be a prize tag that you can replace it with if you're on the winning team of the upcoming episode! -
The interior of the last AT-AP was a couple seats and a gun holder, I believe, built on top of the Technic frame. Nothing too fancy. I would expect something similar.

I'm going to say that that's okay. We did just invent an entire new planet. But it would be preferable if you stick with existing species. (You can always look for species that resemble the LEGO piece, if it's not a Star Wars piece.) Free builds are supposed to show character progression. Your character doesn't have to appear in his current state (it could be a flashback) and your character doesn't have to be physically present (it could be a hologram or in some other way communicating with figs in the MOC) and your character could be assumed to be there (it could be a Mini or other type of build that makes it impossible to put a figure there), but the free build needs to be connected to your character's roleplaying progression. Sorry, no. As said in the Core Rules, your sig fig must be appropriate for your rank. A named existing major character that's a dark apprentice is definitely not appropriate for any of the ranks. Index updated. -

As a free build, any form of LEGO creation is allowed, be it comics, dios, UCS, minis, animations... I'd love to see some of your animations created for this game! In an episode, you would have to follow the rules set for that episode, which may or may not define one type of creation that your entry has to conform to. -

OoC: My fault; I should've posted in here. I'll wait for JimB to change his action since I don't need a Remedy, and then we need to decide if we want to stay in the battle or not...

OoC: We're discussing what to do. How was I Badly Poisoned? Nobody rolled something to result in that last Round, and I used a Remedy at the beginning of the Round.

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours
Brickdoctor replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Results of Round Four of the Brawl in the Dragon's Head: Throlar Wineghilm vs Baelanith - Sentinel (Party is immune to Damage next Round.) You engage in a staring contest with Baelanith. The Enemies: Baelanith Humanoid Level: 5 4 Health: 11/12 Defense: 1 Special I: Elven Harming - Baelanith's elven reflexes and precision allow him to find a weak spot in the target's defenses, and he deals 10 Damage. Special II: Elven Healing - Baelanith's elementary knowledge of elven healing techniques allows him to restore 5 HP to himself. Drops: Elven Sword Note: Specials alternate. Baelanith's broken fingers decrease his current HP and his ability to wield a sword effectively. If healed to full HP, his Level will increase back to 5. The Party: Throlar Wineghilm (Lord Duvors) 134 year-old male dwarven Knight *Sentinel* Level 1 Power: 4 (Level 1 + WP: 3 + Power Bonus: 0) Health: 10 (Base HP: 10) Defense: 2 (SP: 2) Gold: 7 Equipment: Mace and Chain (WP: 3; Poisoned), Round Shield (SP: 2), Jester's Hat (Wearer may choose to gain one immunity from targeted enemy; headwear) Inventory: Potion • Bedroll QM Note: As the situation has not changed, I will autoroll. Results of Round Five of the Brawl in the Dragon's Head: Throlar Wineghilm vs Baelanith - Special Damage (Elven Harming; no effect) Baelanith moves quickly, closing the distance between you two and slashing at a weak point in your armor, but in your defensive position you just manage to get your shield up in time and redirect his strike harmlessly to the side. The Party: Throlar Wineghilm (Lord Duvors) 134 year-old male dwarven Knight Level 1 Power: 4 (Level 1 + WP: 3 + Power Bonus: 0) Health: 10 (Base HP: 10) Defense: 2 (SP: 2) Gold: 7 Equipment: Mace and Chain (WP: 3; Poisoned), Round Shield (SP: 2), Jester's Hat (Wearer may choose to gain one immunity from targeted enemy; headwear) Inventory: Potion • Bedroll Party Leader, choose the order of actions. All combatants, choose your targets and the Row you want to fight in. Also mention if you want to try to flee, move, heal, cast a magic spell, use an item instead of attacking, or attempt something else outside the box. Any enemy not targeted will get a Free Hit on the party after everyone has acted. -

Results of Round Two of the Brawl in the Dragon's Head: >Throlar Wineghilm vs Baelanith - Miss Baelanith almost effortlessly sidesteps your attack, as if to taunt you, but you can see that his fingers are hurting and prevented him from counterattacking. The Enemies: Baelanith Humanoid Level: 5 4 Health: 11/12 Defense: 1 Special I: Elven Harming - Baelanith's elven reflexes and precision allow him to find a weak spot in the target's defenses, and he deals 10 Damage. Results of Round Three of the Brawl in the Dragon's Head: >Throlar Wineghilm vs Baelanith - Sentinel (Party is immune to Damage next Round.) Seeing that the elf is quicker than you, you decide it best to sit back for a Round and avoid Damage while better assessing the situation. The Enemies: Baelanith Humanoid Level: 5 4 Health: 11/12 Defense: 1 Special I: Elven Harming - Baelanith's elven reflexes and precision allow him to find a weak spot in the target's defenses, and he deals 10 Damage. Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion
Brickdoctor replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
I do it out of habit; it's how I play Heroica: "I'm saying out loud what I put in quotation marks." My actions are in italics, and I can think of things in italics, too — "You're Rebel scum," I think to myself. You can read that to help interpret expressions and other things that are hard to convey over the Internet, but your character probably doesn't know exactly what I'm thinking. OoC: If for some reason I need to speak Out-Of-Character in a topic where I should be In-Character, to clarify something in my post, then I can do it in light grey prefixed by the 'OoC:'. But this should be used sparingly and you should consider whether or not your Out-Of-Character comments might fit better in this Introduction and Discussion topic instead. You don't have to do it, but it can make your posts easier to read. -

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion
Brickdoctor replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Sure, it can be of a non-humanoid. But it should preferably be Star Wars-ish, and also remember that Stormies are usually pretty uniform in appearance and that the Empire is xenophobic and prefers to employ humans. (Not something that could cost you any points, just something worth considering.) -
Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours
Brickdoctor replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"We're staying in an abandoned warehouse. Not comfortable, not safe, but free. I have not been in town long. From what I've seen, I would not want any of the major factions as my ally. I would trust no one but my fellow knights." "The elves think they rule this village, uurrrrr'- ur-ur'-. They conquered it, they view it as their mission to maintain control of it even after their lord's death. "It would not be wise to draw attention to yourself in this village." Results of Round One of the Brawl in the Dragon's Head: >Throlar Wineghilm uses Venom on Mace and Chain - (Mace and Chain deals Poisoned effect) Baelanith - Free Hit against Throlar Wineghilm ((4/2)-2=0 Damage) The Enemies: Baelanith Humanoid Level: 5 4 Health: 11/12 Defense: 1 Special I: Elven Harming - Baelanith's elven reflexes and precision allow him to find a weak spot in the target's defenses, and he deals 10 Damage. It's in the FAQs. You don't have to participate in every challenge. You can jump in, jump out, pick up the game when you have time. (Of course, you can't build for an episode that has passed, though.) -
Something similar happened in the Battle of Drakencourt with Sir Loren's Level-increasing Special. Pie got the buff as described, and then his stats went back to normal once the battle ended.

[SONE Free build] Reconnaissance on Hoth
Brickdoctor replied to Nom Carver's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
It's definitely got the Hoth look and is recognizable as part of Echo Base. I think some smoothing out with tiles, grilles, and other details could improve the walls and floor. And a presentation tip: If you want to try to do an immersive, minifig-perspective photo, try to avoid the slivers of light showing through the walls and the edges of the plates of the floor showing at the bottom. That makes it feel less like the viewer is 'there' and more like he's seeing a closely-cropped photo. -
(sone free build) Rebels in the black swamp
Brickdoctor replied to Legofin2012's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Simple and clean — sometimes that's all you need. The domes do a good job of conveying the idea that all the black is a swamp. I think a little more color might be a good addition; the dark greys and black is a little monochromatic...some browns, maybe.
