  1. This is a picture of me, never posted in this thread so it'll be the first pic the community gets to see of me... Enjoy!
  2. The top-beach feeling set in my opinion hasn't been mentioned yet, number 6334 Behold: And of course:
  3. Today I bought set 4552 ( *wub* ) of Ebay at the reasonable price of $52,- in shiny new condition (that is at least what I can see from the pictures it hasn't reached me yet.
  4. Thanks for this review, some pics are a little vague, but still with identifiable objects. TLC's trainstationplatforms are usually not very long, I can live with that, but the station in this calendar must be of recordbraking-shortness! :-P But still a nice variety of items.
  5. Looking at this topics' title I actually thought for a moment that a fire engine had just joined the forum! :-D Welcome Paul, enjoy it here, I like your engines and have seen them on Brickshelf before. :-)
  6. Medications on! X-D
  7. Hello Swissy, Welcome to our beloved international forum, I am sure you will have a great time here. I cycled through Basel on my way to Rome two years ago, a beautiful city with many interesting sites. I was amazed by the bright blue colour of the (unpolluted) river Rhine in Basel. By the time it reaches Holland it looks far more dirty.... Enjoy your stay here! :-)
  8. Good work! You captured the complex look of that beautiful building quite well on such a small scale and with relatively few parts. I am not a real fan of models in LDD, so made out of the actual plastic your duomo will look even more impressive. *y*
  9. Did anybody notice stickers? I didn't :'-) *sweet*
  10. Didn't Indy jump from that horse into the truck in the movie? Nice to have another animal...
  11. WOW!! Thanks for posting these very promising pictures! I love the looks of the cars, especially the large truck! *wub*
  12. Thanks for sharing! This indeed is a great model, quite long as well with 37 studs. Usually I am not a big fan of custom-made stickers, but these seem to fit this model quite well, especially the wavy look of the flag. 9 Volt forever!
  13. V-LF-4D I herewith submit my candidature! I posted this before, but sadly not in the official entries thread, so here it is: The firetruck I am entering is a model I made some time ago shortly after the release of the new Firestation and has been discussed here on Eurobricks in this thread. It is, although equipped with a ladder, still a regular firetruck as used by the firedepartment in my homecity of Amsterdam Holland. May the best firetrucker win! :-)
  14. Today I went to what people here in Holland refer to as the Trial of the Century, a trial against one of Hollands top-criminals (so they say) Willem Holleeder in a heavily armed and protected court here in Amsterdam. The accused arrived in a convoy of three black cars, all with flashlights and sirens and a police helicopter overhead. Quite spectacular! The court (nicknamed The Bunker) was situated inside a building with a large wall built around it, barbed wire on top, lots of cameras and policeofficers, it was more like a fortress. I had to go through two thorough checks before entering the public room. Today lots was said about the extorsion practices of this criminal, and all of the people who got killed because of their role of accomplices. All in all a nice trip for a student of Crime/Criminology like myself... And what did you do today?
  15. That is by far the best idea I have seen for making police-shields! Got to BL some of those together. Thanks! *wub*
  16. Some time ago I picked up this wonderful set and since it seems to be quite rare I am doing a pic review on it. Specifications: Name: Evacuation Team Number: 1656-1 (there are actually two sets with this setnumber) Year: 1991 Pieces: 236 Minifigs: 2 Price: unknown, expensive on BL, I got it myself (second hand) for 17,50 euro This is, as said before, quite a rare set and I am not sure if it was ever released worldwide. I remember seeing this set in the Blokker shops here in Holland, back when it first came out. It is a rather unusual set, a fireset that is concentrated not on putting out fires but in evacuating (what exactly is not really clear) and it includes a small bulldozer, flatbed, truck and something similar to the 6525 firecar of a few years later. It has lots of useful pieces, like four doors with firesymbols on them, tiles with red and white stripes and lots of red and yellow lights. Off to the pictures! Let's start with the official picture of this set: Now, to mine, a bit dark, but clear pics. An overview of the complete set The small car with the only fire-equipment of this set, notice the great headlights placed between the front wheels! The little bulldozer, with four large wheels instead of the usual two large-two small combination. The truck with the flatbed trailer (there are no stands underneath the trailer so without the truck it looks a bit silly... Notice the trucks headlights and indicatorlights placed in succession. The two brave firefighters and all of their equipment, inlcluding the funny light unit on wheels which only stands upright because of the broom and pickaxe on the back. Notice the white construction helmet worn by one of the figs instead of a firehelmet. The mounting of the bulldozer onto the truck. The entire scene again, showing the headlights of the small car again. And finally a picture of the (regrettably) holepunched instruction booklet. To conclude this review, the rating: Build/pieces: 5/5 (I had great fun assembling and there are some really nice pieces) Looks: 4/5 (The windscreen of the small car could have been an airplane-one, and I am not really fond of the indicatorlights on the truck and the fact it has no backlights). Realism: 4/5 (I have never seen a firetruck flatbed with bulldozer in my life, but when something excists I am sure it will look something like this. I am missing the stand underneath the trailer). Overall: 4/5, great recommendable set, with some minor flaws, of the classic nineties era! Comments welcome of course!
  17. Very nice, with just this sole set to MOC with! The only thing that seems to be missing is a platform, but presumably building one was not an option with the pieces supplied in the townhouse-set. I like the design of the clock and speakers, simple but yet very functional. *y*
  18. Obviously fake, would have been nice though, to have four old fashioned skeletons in one set... :-)
  19. I use Mozilla Firefox, mostly because my Internet Explorer crashed after I unknowingly threw away some obviously vital components.... It doesn't play some movies though, but I am quite happy with it.
  20. Great little car! <= I love '57 chevy's, and you did a good job making it in a four-wide version, especially the front looks just like the real car. Cool colorscheme as well. *y*
  21. Close call.... I love the nautica sets from the early nineties, but I haven't got one single set of them :-( They are quite expensive: the 6542 and 6541... Someday I'll buy them So my vote goes to the Divers, I have every single set of that great theme, the combination of underwater scenes and beautiful surface vessels does it for me, along with the neat accessories such as flippers, airtanks and harpoon-rifles. *wub*
  22. Haha..! I beat you! :-D
  23. Nope. No headroom whatsoever... you're welcome. *sweet*
  24. According to bricklink (click "this part appears in 1 minifig") this head appears in the new 7997 trainstation, it is the head of the minifig holding the red cart on the left bottom corner of the picture.
