Thanks for the review of this nice little set. For it's price (3 euros here in Holland) it contains quite a lot of useful parts. The only thing that could have been better in my opinion is the wand, I always liked this one:

Photo Review: Temple of Mount Everest 7417

Thanks for this review, it makes me even more proud then usual to be the owner of this lovely set.... ;-) I like the fact that the plane fits two minifigs and that this set included those big Ninja-doors. :-) -
Off Bricklink I bought the parts to make ten more of these streetlights. :-)

One of the best deals I ever found was set 2140 MISB for 30,00 euro recently, on a dutch advertisement website. Bricklink prices are often quite high, but in this case the difference was very, very big

Very nice, so quiet and peaceful... Either the tide or the Ork will end this status pretty soon. :-)

How very true, I would have loved a brown bear in the outback/adventurers series! How's this for a dangerous and ferocious looking beast: Sorry, couldn't resist... :-D

This picture sums it all up and is quite symbolic.... Going down to Davy-Jones' locker for good. Just pull the plug out of your bathtub. But wait... it won't fit through the drain because it's too big :-( Come on, they could have at least put one tiny little seat inside that horrible fuselage! :-X :-X

Great find! Imagine how long that has been sitting on the shelf... decades! I just agreed to buy (have yet to pick it up at the sellers house) the locomotive of 7898, with RC remote control for 45 euro. I am curious to see how that system works and if I can change the speed when the locomotive is inside a large tunnel (probably not...).

Sounds suspicious to me too..... Mods, what do you think? 8-|

Welcome Dupree! Nice to have another Adult Fan Of Lego (AFOL) here on the boards. If I am not mistaken you are the first Slovenian. I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. :-)

I never received one single bionicle comic in my entire life! Couldn't been happier :-D :-P

They're available on Bricklink, starting at 3 cents each..... Now that's not a lot of money for this piece that I could not imagine being useful for anything.... *sweet*

7424 Review: Dragon Fortress
simonwillems replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
There are pictures of that on Bricklink as well, behold: -
Isn't there some kind of Bionicle-storyline-discussion-thread somewhere, where all these kind of questions and discussions go? I myself am no fan of Bionicle so I don't know the answer to your problem.

7424 Review: Dragon Fortress

Thanks for reviewing this great set. I bought it when it first came out (in 2003?) and still love it. In my opinion the only set that uses that big baseplate in a well integrated way, it really looks good. I changed the car's tracks for the old narrow ones (same length but only half as wide, used with the 4,5v motors long time ago) they are just as wide as the front tires and look much better. This set has always been expensive, I paid 109,99 back in 2003, and finding it below that price on the secondary market nowadays is a real bargain. It was worth it's price though, considering all the pieces and minifigs it included. -
I think this model is more of a buildersset than a play set, intended for (adult) collectors and therefor a model to display somewhere in your room instead of riding around on the carpet. Still, some steering would have been nice, but that would have had consequences for the boot/trunk space in front. You almost certainly would need all the space in there to stop the front wheels from hitting anything. I'd rather have both a detailed trunk and steering, but when I need to chose either one of them I'd like the detailed trunk. This set is getting cheaper everyday, from 150 to 130 to 119 euro's, thanks Holodoc! ;-)

Today I bought set 1782 from the Legostore in Alkmaar (The Netherlands) MISB for 49,95 euro, which I thought is a fair deal (Despite the UGLY helicopter). It was the American version and it came with a small catalog from 1997, which I did not had before. Now the only set I need to complete the entire Divers collection is set 6599...

This conversion looks well done, shame indeed that the 9 volt system never used those connecting driving rods and no middle wheel... :-( This model is high on my list of wanted locomotives (although I don't have any 12v train tracks/regulator, so a conversion is part of the program) I always liked it but find it to be a bit overpriced on Bricklink and Ebay. I did some modifications on the 7740 myself (made in eight wide, 9 volt and blue) and I'll post some pictures of it when I can. I'd like to see your other converted models!

LEGO Group in Deal With Volkswagen

...which isn't that hard to imagine. I fear the pricetag as well (somewhere between 150-200 euro, I think). -
I thought for a moment you actually found a dreadnought type battleship on Brickshelf: Ah well, this mech is also very nice :-P , good colorscheme!

New TECHNIC sets for 2008
simonwillems replied to Conchas's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I like the excavator! I'm curious to see how that new pneumatics-replacement system works, but I guess we'll just have to wait until this line hits the stores... -
A work of art, this truck of yours. Congratulations! I like the use of those two large fences in the back, nice trailer as well (the black one in your brickshelf). It fits the truck perfectly. Now all you need is some large vehicle to haul on top it...

What book are you reading right now?
simonwillems replied to Norrington's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Right now I am reading "Essential Criminology" by Mark Lanier and Stuart Henry. Studyrelated but a nice book. It is less fun to read something when you have to, I think.... But hey, it's in the interest of my future...
