  1. Nice collection! I have recently made a Brickset account myself too, but I have a question regarding it you might be able to answer (being one of the biggest reviewers over there): Is it possible to indicate whether you have a set multiple times? I have lots of sets two, three or even ten times (like the 1196 Telekom Race Cyclist) but could not find a Brickset option to show that. It just says that I own the set, and how much different sets I have... :-/ Do you know? This is my collection, by the way.
  2. I love this book, it's great! It shows the various methods of professional Legoland builders, how they make their big models to scale, it has some very nice detailed pictures of the Legolandparks, the history of Lego (with a piece timeline) and much more. Definetely worth your money. I have the Dutch version. The pages 108 and 109 inspired me to make all sorts of Legolandscaled cars, like the one in my avatar. I also made the car on the cover in black. Unlike being in a Legolandpark you can really see how they made all those models and try and build some yourself. It's also available on Bricklink.
  3. :-D :-D :-P Thanks for a great laugh! Good review of a good set, a real house with an actual staircase and a beautifully designed hinged window in the roof. I'll buy this.
  4. Nope. As soon as I can get a camera I'll take a picture of it.
  5. No you didn't... Not this particular picture (at least I can't find it, after a search in the mentioned topic...) Curious though that the helicopter and boat in my catalog change from the pictures of the setboxes posted in the 2008 thread, many pieces are different couloured or just totally different, like the first deck of the boat: on the box there is a large white fence there, in my catalog two windows.... :-/
  6. Sorry, I completely lost track of this topic. There is one page (page 40 of the Dutch catalog) that has a picture of the new coast guard sets. I don't have a link, a scanner, or camera right now :-/ . I will try to let my linguistic powers do the showing of what's on this particular page: Imagine a rough sea, just outside a big city that is barely visible on the heavy-raincloud-darkened horizon. We see the control tower on the rocks with a brave coast guard minifigure, standing on the balcony firmly holding his binoculars against the sweeping rain with one hand; holding on to the water drenched railing with the other, gazing at the round escape-pod dingy (surrounded by ferocious sharks) occupied by a person holding a flare. Despite the shark invested sea another coast guard minifigure fearlessly dived into the freezing water from the nearby big coast guard ship with his diving gear on. This man is either heroic and should be made an EB-fellow, or completely distasteful to the sharks (did he eat too much garlic during his candlelight supper? We may never know). While he is making his way towards the bloke-in-distress, fighting against the waves, he does not notice the big coast guard helicopter that is hanging above the scene, it's side door opened and a crewman dangling underneath, attached to the aircraft only with a small lifeline, ready to pick up the victim and retrieve him towards a save haven. Who needs pictures anyway? :-P By the way, the page does not show setnumbers or setnames, just: "New! Lego City Coast guard, june 2008" accompanied by the above pictured picture... Hope this helps. ;-)
  7. Just click on the 'quote' button in the bottom right corner of the post you would like to quote. Then press 'add reply': the quote appears in the screen you are going to type your reply in. Hope this helps.
  8. Tough problem this is. I once made a large filmset: that was a great way to include adventurers and Western sets in a modern town, just put some camera's, lights and Steven Spielburg on his little seat somewhere and close down some streets using police barriers. Then an Indiana Jones scene can take place without any strange effect. It worked out pretty well back then... I also included a large castle ruin in my town once, made a snackbar inside and put some signs here and there to make it a tourist attraction. Good luck!
  9. This MOC captures the atmosphere really good, one can almost here the band play.... *wub* I love your floor! Great pattern, I must try that sort of tiling myself sometime. The only thing that looks not entirely in place, I think, is the rug hanging from the balcony, but that is just a very minor imperfection in an otherwise fantastic MOC. I would not make any kind of roof, it looks fine the way it is, with a roof lots of details will be barely visible and that would be a shame. *y*
  10. Hahaha! That really made me laugh :-D Thanks! What puzzles me is why you need to know the exact size of a pirate, HMS243? Some upcoming MOC?
  11. I bought some powerfunctions, with a big catalog discount (the original prices for the powerfunction elements) as mentioned in this thread. I bought 2 receivers, 1 remote, 4 extension/9v converter cables and 1 small motor. I am going to fully integrate the new system with my 'old' 9 volt motors that's why I bought 4 extension cables and just one motor.... I am curious as to what is possible with the powerfunction elements. :-)
  12. I very much doubt it, you should go to an aviator store :-D :-D Only joking, I know you mean a Lego-one.... They may be having them as a bulk article in the pick-a-brick wall, but that is not very likely, Bricklink may (however expensive) still the best option. And if you buy just one the shippingcosts won't be so high either.
  13. Thanks, it's a really simple design, I made it using the following (6) parts: Attach the two wheels to the axle, put the 1x2 jumperplate centered underneath the axle, attach the 1x1 plate- with-clip underneath the centered 1x2 jumperplate and click the black cartwheels into the clip. The thing leans a bit forward, but works well. Put in a disabled minifig and let's roll! :-)
  14. There are two codes on Brickset, and I believe they are for the UK! EJ99 or EJ80. Here's the link on Bricksets front page.
  15. Even Brickshelf is free! man, nothing in this Legoworld will cost you one single penny! :-D Last summer there was a rumour that the site would close down, it was announced on brickshelf, later they said that it stayed open and we haven't heard anything about closing down ever since. So, post away!
  16. That sounds like a lot of work can be done sorting, good luck! :-P I sort my bricks per type (only some per type and color), basic bricks are in one big drawer, the rest of the non-technic pieces are sorted out into 249 little plastic drawers in one big system. The technic pieces (except the beams and wheels, which are in a large drawer) I have sorted into 7 toolcases with dividers, again by type. It took some work, but it's very satisfactory.... :-)

    Divers

Great ship! I can see which sets you used to make them (of the Divers theme that is), I just bought the set with the large crane and am so happy with it... I like the use of that big hull which is from this fire ship if I'm not mistaken. It sure has a lot of storing space, fitting entire boats! The only thing that I myself would have changed is the size of the chimney, I would have made that a lot bigger and perhaps with some sort of round shape. Nice work! *y*
  18. Hi Legotrainfan and welcome here to Eurobricks! I am a 9 volt train enthusiastic myself, and only recently started collecting them (have almost the entire serie now). Do you have a brickshelf account? If so, feel free to post it. It's been forgiven! :-D If you like to make reviews Eurobricks is the place where (photo)reviews are always very much appreciated. Enjoy your stay! :-)
  19. This is strange as well: The picture of the new coast guard helicopter and the big ship are in the Dutch 2008 catalog.... But hey: if TLC does not want me to see them I'll just close my eyes everytime I browse that particular page in my catalog, no problem :-P
  20. That does not work for me :-( I guess I'll be Bricklinking those powerfunctions.... EDIT: this only works for Germany, if I change the country to Germany the discount is appearing, lucky Holodoc!
  21. Where can I get that catalog? Is it the same one published online on Lego.com?
  22. What?! This really pisses me off, like you I was just about to place an order for those parts!! >:-( >:-( They were much cheaper yesterday, booh Lego, BOOH! >:-(
  23. Firstly you mean "What date is the Toyfair?" Secondly, now we all know because Sinner came up with the answer. :-D ;-)
