Wow, I never imagined it to be possible: make a tank out of Lego and with that influencing people to work on their personal hygiene.... X-D :-D I considered it, but found it to be impossible. To make the turret move I had to place an extra motor and an extra receiver to connect it to, that receiver was the real problem: it had to be in sight for the remote control to activate it and for that there was simply not enough room inside the cramped up body of the tank. Was, yes, because I already went on experimenting with the power functions, sacrificing the tank in the proces, and making a fifties truck that I'll photograph pretty soon and put on Brickshelf. :-)

Happy Birthday Athos! (Better late than never as to the date...) Und Holodoc, Ich hoffe du feierte eine sehr gute und frohliche Geburtstag! (I have to practice those German writing skills some more, after not being in Germany for a while they start to fade away... *sweet* )

I recently placed an order at Big Ben Bricks for some red custom trainwheels, I have yet to receive those. Also I bought this ebay-lot, for 11 euros, containing quite a few trainlights: I haven't received that yet either... :-)

It seems like we all missed this thread when you posted it Hairy Ruben... A shame because you made a really nice looking tower. Next step is to make it in real life with the actual plastic. *y* Maybe it's a second-hand clock? :-D

Well, it may look simple when it's constructed like this, but somebody (you) had to came up with the inventive idea to use pieces such as hands and barrels to make a castle, which is great. I like it! *y*

I'll go for something classic.... The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible *wub* Lego version (click to enlarge):

That looks like a promising start of a zoo, nice find! We had and entertaining discussion about those bears lately, here it is.

Have anice and happy birthday commander Norrington! :-)

Thanks for all the nice comments! And thanks to Hinckley for indexing my efforts. That really made me laugh :-D , thanks I tried to make some decent pedals for this instrument, but because of the small scale and little space between the underside of the piano and the floor it did not work out very well and looked quite bulky. So I decided to skip them.... Besides, when a minifig is sitting behind this piano he/she won't be able to reach any pedals in the first place. X-D

Which is your favorite lego star wars creature?

I have always been a fan of Sebulba, I have loved the fig ever since I bought the Mos Espa Pod Race. Wow, Sebulba certainly has increased in price over the years, Bricklink lists him between $6 - $29.99..... Better hold on to him. -
How very nice, this index of yours. Is it possible to add two of my towns? ~ Town with trains and 9v lighting and ~ City with monorail at street level (the only place this one has been briefly discussed is the show us your layout! - thread). Thanks in advance. :-)
-
Amazing to see how this town of yours seems to balance, hanging a few feet up in the air... I like the crowded look, but maybe some baseplates/roadplates are nice to add some cohesion. I know.... space, I'm short of it myself :-/ . Thanks for showing your town! :-)

Any news or photos on Toy Fair London or NYC??

Man, how funny can a signature be...? Great find :-D :-P -
B-V-6D (...) "There's blues folk and country and rock like a rollin' stone The world can get together as one If everybody under the sun Add some music to your day" (...) ( *sing* By the Beach Boys) This is a minifig-scale version of a Grand Piano, I made it as an interior piece for my city. It fills almost the entire second floor of this building, the one in the center of the picture, and is just visible through the windows. Although I said 'minifig-scale' earlier on, those keys are huge.... :-D (Pictures are links to larger pictures) The Brickshelf gallery Comments are welcome, let me hear what you think! :-)

It is also possible to use other plates to make trains, as long as you include some of these in your setup (they come in various sizes and the 2x8 one seems the most suitable. You need to make a two-layered plate otherwise it's not possible to build in the holed pieces adequately. With this design the train building techniques are endless: you can make eight-wide trains like this one (self promotion on and even trains of 30-40 studs long (just mind the curves). Hope to have been of any help. :-)

I am saving up as well, what a great set it is! *sweet* I'm sure there are more clearer images of the original set but this is the best I can find at the moment.

Well... I can't really see the purpose of this thread, it is just a statement. But to go into details: The original Town Plan set this new one is based on, predates the Back to the Future sequence. So it's actually a remake of a Legoset. It may be very similar to the movie but that presumably was not the orginal intention of the creators. Maybe it's the other way around: the creators of the film might have looked at the Legoset and thought: 'hey, that's a good idea'. :-)

Hello Majek! Welcome to Eurobricks! Your English is really good, don't even worry about that. Besides there are many people here who don not have English as their mother-tongue, so we are very forgiving when it comes to typing mistakes. Nice work on those MOC pages, I love your little castles! Enjoy your time here. :-)

Thanks for the nice comments, they are really appreciated! *sweet* O.K. I'll drive over it instead... :-D Well, technically it's Technic... ;-) But if a Mod feels the urge to move it he has my permission. That's a good idea, I'll try to make a decent movie of it during the weekend. I never uploaded a movie to Brickshelf before, but there's a first time for everything, I guess. :-)

Welcome to Eurobricks Victoria. Judging you by the name it seems that you are a lady, how very nice! Lady's are a minority in this community, but because of that most, most welcome and highly respected! Enjoy it here! :-)

Thanks for all those nice words! :-$

Very nice and elegant looking! All those arches and rounded roofs really make it Mos Eisly-ish. I also would make the scale a bit bigger, although those houses looked pretty cramped-up in the movie as well. Just continue with a lot more of these buildings, add some figures and droids and make it a real village. *y*

Hello Eurobricks! I herewith present to you my tank. Yes, I know it's black, which is not exactly the colour one would choose for adequate camouflage abilities, but it was the only colour I had available for the moment. I motorised it with the power function system: the batterybox is built in in the front section, in the back there are two normal old technic motors, one per track, a few converter cables and the receiver. I was planning on motorizing the turning of the turret as well, but because of the limited space inside the tank and all the equipment that had to be built in there was no room for that :-( . The track consist of two rows of small chainlinks per track, making one track two studs wide. The whole thing moves around and steers like a real life tank. It is quite heavy so don't expect recordbraking speeds... I made this as an experiment to test out the power functions and found out many thing about the system: one of them being that the back end of the receiver must be visible at all times otherwise the signal does not come through... Even one plate over the receiver will stop the vehicle from going anywhere. I covered up most of the receiver but it still shows at the rear end and works fine like this I do apologise for the darkness of the pictures, but the whole thing being black does not add to the lighting... ;-) (Click pics to enlarge) The Brickshelf gallery Comments are welcome of course! :-)
