[MOC] US Truck
jorgeopesi replied to Lucio Switch's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Beautiful MOC but I like more to know how it works the front axle with soo many weight, I remember years ago that Sheepo had a lot of problems with a similar size truck but with less details and weight. -

I still trying things... I do not like too much mudguard panels but I see that you need less pieces in the end for a more strong MOC, the bad thing is that I think if we all use them in small cars they can be probably too much alike each other. -

Awesome MODs all of them look like A models. -
I share all my thoughts here TC18 and how I am learning what I want in this scale. I tried suspensions but they are fragile and we need too much pieces and space, I tried without differentials with AWD car and pushing it I noticed that is better with differentials and I tried simple steering without ackerman and it works much better being ackerman. We all are learning and I need a simple car that can be pushed and steered very well being strong and we will see if a little nice with 3 or 4 details, engine, doors, whatever. We all follow a different way and none is bad and all teach something.

IMO you are going too far and a car without differentials it works badly when you play with it, I do not know how people are going to vote but you would have my 10 if it was a trial truck, being a car all that engineering that doesn´t translate into playability doesn´t convince me but it is just my thought.

I have but I am not a big fan of panels I like more the old flex axle school, for me the cars were more beautiful with them. Just an example, I do not like fragile MOCs but for cars that are almost only for display the flex axles are good. -

More changes again, ackerman steering because I discovered that the steering works incredibly better than without it, HOG steering and I am trying mudguards... -

A drive front axle only 14 studs wide and even strong for my... forgive me it is already done. This contest will be hard because I still don´t know well what to do... -

I see something I don´t like Igor, the technic pole reverser handle doesn´t allow the natural movement of the liftarm 11 between the wheels. -

Another smaller working W16 engine, it seems that it can be improved a little. -

IMO it has too much bricks for a Technic MOC but I suppose it is a matter of taste, I like the steering a lot. -

The good point is that you can move the steering wheel easily if you want and you still have ackerman steering, you can do a supercar with the steerin wheel near the front wheels or you can do a car with a V12 front engine if you want, the think I like of this is the simplicity and modularity. -

I am working in something better but for the moment just this simple front axle with ackerman steering and the steering wheel very near of the wheels. I am not going to use suspensions because they would make the car too much fragile for my taste I preffer consistent MOCs even loosing functions, in these scales. -

I totally agree with you, in the end Lego is an excuse for me to think and that Lego sometimes break rules (onwritten rules ) doesn´t mean that I want to do it, IMO when you break an own rule it is hard to see the limit for stop to do it. Sorry for the off-topic Limga. -

I like it too much now but it is only my opinion. Most people will vote only for aesthetics because they won't see the threads in detail but this is our technic world.
