  1. It's funny you should mention that. I've already gained a reputation at college as 'the clever one', which means that I keep ending up helping people with homework. Now, that's not a problem. I like helping people. Unfortunately, they keep leaving it till the break before the lesson. So I had half an hour this afternoon to explain the homework to two different people, and get a little last minute Chemistry revision done. Unfortunately, there were 5 people sat at the table, and we all kept getting distracted, talking about films and such like. Actually, no, just films. Plus, my brain wasn't working properly as it was last thing on a Friday, the LRC's really, really warm, and I've got a cold. They just got done in time. Phew! :-D
  2. Oh, I forgot, Woolies also had the Movie scouts, previously thought to be Target exclusives in the US. I managed to pick up Legends Blackout and Screamer as well, last weekend at Sainsbury's of all places. I went in to see if they had any Deluxes (Bonecrusher, mainly), but they didn't. Stiol, my purchase made up for it. I finished reading the Movie Adaptation the other day. Not brilliant, the Movie was a hell of a lot better, but it whiled away some time. People who thought the 'bots weren't in the Movie enough definitely won't like the comic. However, that said, there were a nice amount of in-jokes, and you know I love them. Sam had a Kemzeek statue on his desk, a GI Joe poster, and a poster for a band given the name TFW2005. Plus, the number of other TFs that made appearances in vehicle mode was ridiculous (in a nice way, though). We had: Alt Skids, G1 Brawn, G1 Sideswipe, G1 Ratchet (without medical symbols), G1 Prime, G1 Trailbreaker, G1 Ironhide, G1 Wheeljack Nice to see someone on the creative team having a bit of fun.
  3. My Woolies has got last years Piraka Stronghold for
  4. Thanks *vader* and lego.ryan! I've really started something haven't I? Anyway, I look forward to it, and hopefully I'll have a few more up soon, there're plenty more figs I'd like to display properly. But I've got part 2 of my 'Bat-MOC Goody-bag' and a MODed Crab Crusher to photograph, some artwork (it's a surprise) for the former, and some sorting of my Techic box to do as well.
  5. I actually think it can be quite fun doing that. You really do find things you'd lost/forgotten about. Ooh, nasty. I was really sore today, but that's due to my (rather bad) cold. I've been sneezing really hard, and I think I've hurt my back and my stomach/chest a bit. I mean, it probably didn't help that I walked up to the bus after college yesterday with my friend Jess in the rain. She has a cold too... Today, I didn't need to go into town, so I had to spend all of my 3.5hr break in college. "Never mind," I thought, "I'll do my Maths hwk. That should fill a good 2hrs." An hour later, I'd finished. Hmm |-/ So my friend and I wandered round a bit, messed on the college computers, the ended up sat in the refectory/dining room. He was so bored, that he ended up turning a platic cup inside out, and for some reason we thought it was really funny... *wacko* Yeah, we're like that.
  6. Heh, so am I. With thanks, I mean. I just got another card through the post today, and there's a cheque on it's way, but due to the postal strike could be a while longer. Anyway, a belated thanks guys. :-)
  7. I did, and it does. It's not even particularly interesting or even worthwhile homework at that.
  8. Thanks everyone. :-$ Um, none whatsoever unfortunately. Still, I got some other good things. I got: [*]V for Vendetta (the graphic novel) [*]Some chocolates [*]Some shower gel, etc. [*]Police Squad on DVD [*]Some money to buy Spider-man 3 and Fantastic Four 2 on DVD [*]
  9. Thank you. I tried to make them as simple as possible, as they'd probably look a bit odd on display if they were too crowded. Apart from Scarecrow possibly, which is a bit more 'detailed', but still fairly simple.
  10. Very nice, very nice. The Wizard, Knight, Builder with Cement Mixer and Street Cleaner are truly fantastic. The others, slightly less so, but still superb sets, especially for the price and context. I'm definitely getting these. 2008 is going to be more expensive than I thought. Looks like it's time to get a job...
  11. Batman (1966) Fantastic movie, an absolute classic. Really. "Shark Repellant Bat-Spray" :-D
  12. Thanks guys. Thank you. It's actually pretty close to my real desk for the scale it's in. Yeah, I considered using them to display figs ages ago, way before this was even a conceptual idea, but declined on account of the writing. Yeah, I only used my favourite figs for displays. At least, my favourite figs that weren't already on display elsewhere. His sprayer was based on an aerosol spray can he was brandishing in a picture in a book I've got. The Bats one was obviously based on that classic image. I don't know where that came from actually, but thatnks.
  13. Thanks Sinner and MatthewUSA. Glad to see i've made a difference Matthew.
  14. Thanks Thok. I was thinking of doing another 'comic scene' for a later part (2 or 3), but honestly, The Killing Joke hadn't occured to me. Thanks for the idea, I may have to try it.
  15. This afternoon I'm nipping into town to have a proper look at some storage drawer things I saw the other day. If I end up getting them, I'll probably be resorting my Lego a little bit.
  16. I have to say, from what I've seen of him, he does look pretty fantastic. I suppose the sound effects 'problem' applies to any TF figure with them, so that's not really a big problem. Apparantly the way the feet stick out the back of the rank looks just like a bumper, so that's not a problem either. I may even consider getting him if I find him. I didn't find Legends Screamer or Blackout on Thursday, btw |-/ But, and it's a big 'but', Wooloies had had a little change around, probably to make room for the Christmas stock, and they'd suddenly got loads of TFs. They had Legends Prime and Megs, Voyager Megs, Leader Megs, one Arcee, the three-pack, Thundercracker, Rescue Ratchet, a few new Real Gear figures and new FABs. I didn't fancy any of them, but it was a pretty nice selection, especially compared to what they normally have in.
  17. Thanks Landlubber, Imperialshadows, LT Col Thok and Mr Tiber. In that case, I'd better crank it up to 11... It looks better than you might think, and it's in bley. I'm sure you've seen the new pics by now though.
  18. Dwarves= cool *y* Aren't those beards the ones we saw on the Vikings prototypes the other year? The trolls are less cool than the dwarves, and the Orcs (or whatever they are) are okay too. I like the brown axe the dwarf has, and all the sets look pretty nice. Next year'll be a big Lego year purchase-wise...
  19. He does doesn't he? It's certainly a new direction for a mini-fig, as it has little use other than BD- *vader* I'm liking the AT-AP even more now and the Rogue Shadow looks slightly better that it did, but again i'll reserve judgement for a bit longer. Hopefully the Rebel BP will be fairly cheap, as I'm liking that. Same goes for the Imperial Dropship as, while the dropship isn't exactly brillaint, the fact that there're three Stormies and a Blackhole Trooper makes it pretty good. The TIE Crawler seems perhaps a little expensive over here, at
  20. Wow, nice find. These new pics really show more of the ses which I already thought were really nice. The sidecar's not brilliant, but now that I've got my own design, that can be changed. I still like the set though. Nice faces for Indy and Henry, and the map is new, not just the one from the Adventurers line back in '98. The new bikes are here again, which is good too. The Temple, well, I like the Anubis statues, and that's, what, nine snakes? I'm afraid I might have to get this as well. The question is though, whether the thing that the snakes are coming out of moves like a sort of trap-door thing. Desert Race. Simply brilliant. I love the gold chest, and the mudguard construction with the flags is pretty innovative. Probably another addition to the purchase list... Raider of the Lost Ark isn't perhaps as nice as the other three IMO, but stil a nice set. The 'natives' legs are pretty cool, with the loincloth-skirt-thing. The black leaves on top of the skull idol are cool. Dead forest anyone? Question: The whip is a different shape to the one in that very first pic of the Indy fig we saw all that (short) time ago. Does this mean it can be positioned? Unlikely I suppose, but we can but hope. Unless there're actually two molds of whip and each set comes with both- curled, and straight.
  21. Four or five would certainly be nice. I think we might, as this could've been a sort of middle year, as the designers come up with new figs/molds/vehicles, which is why we got one new fig (a fairly simple fig at that) and one fig in a new colour. By next summer, they'll have had time. Perhaps that means we'll see a few more 'unique' figs- Man-bat, Gordon, etc. But I'd still settle for two, if they were two really good sets with lots of nice figs.
  22. Thanks *yoda* , Sinner and Batbrick. I wasn't really expecting many people to have a knowledge of Batman #666, but I thought I'd MOC some stuff from it anyway. I picked it up a few weeks ago in Forbidden Planet in Manchester, as it was a standalone sotry which wouldn't require me to get anymore. Tht'd be pretty difficult unless I subscribed through somewhere, since nowhere near me sells comics. It doesn't really detract too much from the MOCs though. The MODs (barring Batcave) should be up soon, as they're all done. I've not photographed them. Yeah, I felt that it would be a waste of time to post them all separately, both from the POV of people commenting and from my POV in a time sense. That, and I just liked the idea of a 'goody-bag.' Same here ;-) It is. Morrisn just shifted the time for a one-off. We're back in the normal era now. You're quite welcome.
  23. And hopefully the Indy trailer coupled with all the new '08 pictures we've had recently means this won't be too far away.
  24. I was reading a list of the extra scenes the other day, and I thought the same thing. Sure, it's nice to get something new, but they didn't sound like the most interesting additions. The radio scene did make it into IDWs Movie Adaptation though, which I borrowed from the library last Thursday. Unfortunatly I've not yet got round to reading it, so I can't report back on it just at the moment. I think Bay said there wouldn't be any extra scenes on the DVD release, except of course any on the Features disc. The rundown of DVD extras does seem quite nice though. I called in Woolworths on my way home this afternoon, and managed to pick up Legends Megs and Prime. Both are quite nice figures, but Prime is out of scale in both his modes with the other Autobots. His vehicle mode is nice though, but I can't explain why he only has one smokestack. Megs' vehicle mode is a bit of a letdown. Well, actually it's crap. But his robot is okay, and his head's jointed, so that makes up for it. Prime's robot isn't perhaps incredibly accurate, but I don't care, I like it. I'm nipping into town (the other town) tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to find Screamer and Blackout. Woolies also had the Brawl/Jazz/Protoform Prime 3-pack for
  25. Thanks. The pic I used as reference had a 'KRAKT' so I used that instead. I may be a bit hard to make out on my pics though, because of the black letters. Thanks. It's funny, everywhere I've seen something about Batman #666, it's been credited under a different title *wacko* . I don't think anyone actually knows what it is. The closest thing I can find in my copy is 'Batman in Bethlehem.'
