Well, no doubt I'll enjoy spotting all that I've not seen much, no. Mask of the Phantasm and Mr Freeze: Subzero, but both a while ago, and apart from that, none at all I think. I've seen a few episodes of The Batman though. I don't think it's as good as what I've seen of BTAS, but I still don't mind it. Although I've only seen episodes from the first season though, before Robin and Batgirl. No, fair enough. Ah yes... I think I need to get a job. EDIT: Oops, forgot something. Some new Batman pics have surfaced in this BS gallery. Credit to Whung here for the pictures, but I notice a few new things: "I Scream" New hair. So it's not the somewhat boring standard male hairpiece, it's one of the new pones. Not sure whether I like it, but I'll wait and see what it looks like in the flesh (plastic?).

Today (well, yesterday now, due to the time I'm posting this) I found out that I have a day off college tomorrow (today now) because of a UCU teachers strike. Good news. On top of that, the sun came out at lunchtime, despite the fact that rain had been forecast all day. So not a bad day all told.

Thanks. Well then, they're not much bigger than a standard minifig are they? I'd class one as a minfig/abnormal minifig.

Batman: Gotham Knight Trailer and reviews
Brainbox replied to Batbrick's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Still, I'd better get it for completeness sake. And at £20 I can hardly complain can I? Really? I didn't know that, but it sounds pretty good. -
Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
Brainbox replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
And not just Martha, but UNIT and the Sontarans as well. Yes I know UNIT have been seen and mentioned in the new series before now, but this is our first proper Doctor/UNIT vs aliens story. Notice how UNIT are still using the same land rovers they were using back in the 70s. The Sontarans are a warrior race, who breed through cloning, Pencoin. They've only actually appeared in four stories before (this being their fifth. Or sixth depending on how you count the new two-part episodes). The "commander guy" you refer to is "General Staal of the tenth Sontaran battlefleet", who hasn't been in the series before, but he's the lastest in-story Sontaran commander. -
Yeah, she's not bad. Hang on, how about these: It's like all our dreams come true! Wait a minute... there's something missing from that pic you posted... the top bit... Babs!

Ooh... I'd completely forgotten about this thread. Anyway, I'd certainly be interested, and I'm sure I'd be able to make the trip down to Windsor sometime (might get my friend to come as well, for company). That said, I definately couldn't do it until at least mid-June, as the exam season starts in a few weeks and I've got my AS exams. I'd agree with making it a Saturday certainly. Trouble is, I'd have to leave Friday for travel, and I'm in college on Fridays. But, we (as a college) finish about 2 weeks before all the schools for our summer holidays, and while I would be volunteering in school a few of those days, I could travel down on a free Friday, then back home on the Sunday. Plus, it'd be summer thwn, so the weather should be nice. I'd want a reasonable number of people to attend though. Otherwise, there's not a lot of point really. It's not exactly a short journey from North-West Lancashire down to Windsor. Now isn't too late for you is it Tau? I realise it was a month ago you posted that.

Well, how tall are they compared to a standard minfig? I don't actually have any, so I can't see. But they're alive, which allows them to be classed in a figure section. I'm not saying that things like droids (ie that aren't alive) can't be classed as figs, just that these can.

Most of which will be destined for the bley box. Which means it's even less likely to close! Talking about this set makes me want it now...
-
Well, at least you got it. I found Vol 1 in HMV for £20 and Vol 2 for £30. I might wait for Vol 3 to come out, then Vol 2 should go down in price (hopefully to £20). But my dad thinks he's seen Vol 1 cheaper elsewhere, so I may have to see if he's right... Oh, Quantum of Solace, of course. And Harry Potter 6, and maybe Wall-E. Make that £48 . Indeed, I may struggle on that front too. Hmm...
-
As am I. But alas, I probably won't be able to afford it...
-
Good, I was hoping that. I don't really want the shooter there when I get it, so why do I need the handle? Batbrick, this is TLC we're talking about. Since when has 'gold' and 'throne' always meant 'king' to TLC?

Dark Victory definately, Gotham Knight probably. But I don't think BTAS 3 and 4 are out here yet. Still, doesn't matter, I've not got 1 or 2 yet. TDK, Iron Man, Speed Racer, The Incredible Hulk and Indy 4. There may well be others, but these are definates. I know it's not many, but at £6 a time that's at least £30 I have to factor in. Um... nop you're right, he doesn't. Fair enough on the head use then (pity I won't be buying the set). And you can feel free to use my idea. I woin't be able to try it out for a while anyway, as I'll likely not be getting the set till next month. Unfortunately. Ooh... creepy.

Pyrovile. Nice Doctor, btw, Mr Spielbrick.

I like the Bat-pod. It's quite simple, but in a good way. It looks very 'official' in the way it's designed and constructed. The computer setup you've created also looks rather cool, and the Batsuit case is pretty neat. But can I just point out that it's TDK, as in The Dark Knight.
-
Oh, it is...
-
I agree with that. The size of the Hailfire rather excludes it from the figure category. It's not classed as anything close to a 'figure' in the films, and probably wouldn't be anywhere else. But then I start to ruin my own suggestion... I like the 'figure not an object' bit. If something is clearly an 'object' it is not a figure. But then how do you actually define 'figure' and 'object'?

Currently: 1 Skellie (plus horse) 4 Crownies 5 Orcs 1 Dwarf But I only have 3 sets, so I don't think that's all that bad. I plan on getting more though.
-
Oh definitely. That fact, compared with the Impulse sets, makes army building really easy. And the sets are so well priced as well. I was expecting them all to be much dearer than thery actually are.
-
Well, exactly. I've just blown most of my money on a laptop, and now I've got to get the Bat-sets, Agents sets, Castle sets and a few others, as well as several graphic novels (Countdown, Countdown tie-ins, Final Crisis, Dark Victory), BTAS, Gotham Knight, cinema tickets for all the films I want to go and see, 2 Lego games, then on top of that there's travel costs, food, etc. How about these two? That second one made me burst out laughing when I first came across it. Ah, well, the characters didn't actually speak in LSW, they just made weird noises. I really want more figs next year, and I'm sure we'll get some. I mean, the fact that we're getting the game implies that the line is somewhat popular. It would be a reasonable assumption then that we'll at least get new sets next year. As for the face, I like it. Really , Ra's should have a moustache but since we need a fleshie, that'll suffice. I think I may have found another use for the Snake Oiler head, btw. Matches Malone. Now, I don't own the set yet, so don't steal my idea Me neither mate, me neither.

Two years last Christmas I think. So about the same time you got yours probably. But there's still a bit more to do. Well, I think there is. New things to do just seem to appear as we go along, so I've no idea when I'll be finished with them. To be honest though, I don't really notice them all that much. They don't seem to be tightened much each time I go. Today, I nipped into town, then finished some work for college. Wow, exciting.

TDK Joker, Jim Gordon plus TBA Ra's Al Ghul customS
Brainbox replied to Vader's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I don't know. I don't mind the new Joker, as you know. Well, apart from the make-up thing, but the overall messiness isn't too bad. Anyway, onto the custom. It's another fantastic custom as usual Vader. I agree with Batbrick, the eyes and mouth could perhaps be a little smaller, but the look is still good, really capturing the TDK Joker. The hair is very nice, if more complicated than TLC would ever make, but like the face, captures the Joker's untidiness and madness. -
Captain Green Hair and Mr. Tiber's Steampunk Pirate Ship
Brainbox replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Do I sense some copying going on? I have to say, this is a fantastic MOC Hinckley. I love Steampunk, and large MOCs (never really attempted one myself though), and this is a superb example of both. I looks a bit, well, fat. But I think that adds to the character of the good ship. And Pirate ships are pretty cool anyway. -
I agree. They're both £70 over here, and the piece count, like you say, doesn't quite justify that to me.
-
Fantastic! I don't think I can add anything that hasn't been said by anyone else. Dark green is a very cool Lego colour, and to see it used like this is great. Nice work Benk
