  1. Indeed, I am. I'm going for a 'volumes' structure, rather than small storylines. It means I can have lots of large, over-arching stories, but I do have to sacrifice some of those small, character-driven storylines. The first volume looks at the search for 'Specials' around the world, with the goodies, the baddie and a sinister organisation (there would be, wouldn't there). The second is a sort of transition volume, with smaller stories. The third is a 'virus' arc with a twist. Beyond that I'm not really sure. I've got two mini-series lined up as well. One that focuses a little more on the minor characters and supporting roles, and the other that's a tribute to the Silver Age. I have lots of ideas and characters floating around, but most are somewhat out-of-context. I've got my friend interested in a little guest-writing, and I may see if anyone else fancies a bit. One of the main characters is essentially a female version of me! Oh, God yeah. I'll have to make sure to split them up for both the talky scenes and the battle scenes. Nah, mine's staying on the Agent. She's hot! Btw, I finally bought BTAS Vol 1 on Saturday. I've only managed to watch 'On Leathery Wings' but I'm enjoying it. Unfortunately, it's been added to the DVD backlog that's developed. Seriously, I've got loads of DVDs I need to watch.
  2. Ah, um... the upcoming Batman RIP story is said to be I ran out of heroes pages back. You know, before it turned into a Super-hotties roll call.
  3. I've not actually seen any, but I think I'd probably prefer the Autobots fighting the Decepticons week in, week out, rather than Super-villains. Let Super-villains stay in Superhero comics. But if you're refering to the actual TFs, the I suppose it's no different to what the original series did.
  4. Didn't do anything today, but I went to Southport yesterday. There was some sort of food market on, so we went to look at that. Quite a good day. I've had a few exams this past week. They were ok, apart from Friday's English. My pen ran out near the end of the first paper, then my spare pen ran out at the end of the first paper. What are the chances of that, huh? More exams this week, but only two, so it's not that bad.
  5. Tesco has a '25% off' offer on SR at the moment. There were price listings for Speed Racer/Snake Oiler and Racer X/Taejo Togokhan, but both were listed as 'Temporarily out of stock'. They were both down to £9.72 btw.
  6. The Tumbler is massive! I'll struggle to fit it into the Cave, but never mind. The figs are nice, the Tumbler is pretty accurate (or at least, it will be after I've MODed it), and Joker's tainted ice cream van is so very Joker. Thanks for the review, btw.
  7. Oh very funny... She's a fantastic fig though (despite the missing breast), and the jesters hat is just great. I wonder why only two of the sets are on S@H, rather than all four?
  8. Yeah, but I read War Games before I read TLH. I tend to just let characterisation come out in the writing, rather than put it there. If it happens, it happens. He wants a few character sketches before he reads any further though, so as not to get confused as to who characters are. The main cast is approaching 20! Oh no you won't! You gave me dibs on Matches, just because I was the first one to post the idea. It won't certainly look bad. I guess you'll just have to see how good it looks when you try it.
  9. They're not bad, it's just that I'd much rather read a good old-fashioned superhero comic than a genre-redefining tale. Give me the Justice League or a Crisis any day. Have you heard that (apparantly) ?
  10. Had my AS Level Chemistry practical exam today. I think it went okay, but it was obviously really warm in the lab- everybody's goggles steamed up!
  11. Fantastic! I too like the way you've made the roof, and the fence has just the right mix of 'strong' and 'slightly poorly made' (in context, not your technique). The inside looks rather spiffy, I like all the details (ie weaponry) you've packed in there. I agree with Hinckley regarding the chimney, but overall a superb MOC.
  12. It's almost enough for me to want to take up hangliding. I mean the Batcave shelf. It'll take forever, but it'll be fun to do, and should (hopefully) look really good when finished. You may also have noticed that a lot of the dust suddenly disappears. That's because I decided it was too dirty, dusted it, then carried on photographing. Some of the post-dust photos weren't good enough to be used, so I had to stick with some of the pre-dust ones. Yeah... but I suppose it's better than his other vehicle. The Super Cycle from Young Justice Erm... Quite alright. Now I need to think of something to go in part 4... Thank you.
  13. I agree. Before this year, I'd never even heard of Speed Racer. I've not seen the film yet, but I still love the sets. The Mach 5, for example, needs a little MODing, but is pretty cool otherwise (and it's the Mach 5). The minifigs are all pretty useful for parts as well. Lots of nice heads and torsos to scavenge
  14. You know, the official Batcycle is actually growing on me a little. Sure, it's not brilliant, but take a look in the instructions for a pic of Batman sat down in/on the bike. Now tell me that doesn't look just a little bit cool. And in the UK. Yes! £10 for the Buggy and £40 for the Tumbler. £10 is perhaps more than I would have priced the Buggy at, but considering the size of the thing, £40 for the Tumbler isn't half bad. I hope to be buying these shortly.
  15. They're long. War Drums concerns Steph Brown's tenure as Robin, War Games is a big action epic, and War Crimes is Bats versus one of the deposed crime bosses (following Black Mask's coup). To be honest, I didn't much fancy War Games before my CE printed it, thinking a gang war would be a bit boring, but it turned out to be rather good. Well, except for the parts that were originally printed in Catwoman, as the art is a little odd. I'm enjoying writing it, and I've got lots of ideas just floating round. My friend even suggested some neat ideas which I may use somewhere down the line. It'a nice to try and write something a bit different to be honest. I'm more of a visual writer, and I can easily write good stron visual scenes, like battles or 'silent scenes', but I struggle more with humanistic character writing. That's what this is, although there will be a fair few battles. Hmm... I like that. I just need to wait a couple more weeks, and I'll be able to afford some of the stuff I want. That's Speed Racer and Indy 4, so I should be able to make my Matches.
  16. I will read it. I just want to borrow it from the library rather than buy it. I'm not as much of a fan of the 'revolutionary' comics as I perhaps should be (you know, being a fanboy and all), so I don't want to buy it in case it's not as good as it's supposed to be. Four. Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, Wally West and Bart Allen.
  17. It is ridiculously big. I can't really say for sure what exactly I'll do with it, but I'd like to keep it as official as possible (save a few much-needed MODs). I'm just scared about trying to fit it into my Batcave. I know it's only a little wider than the Bat-tank, but both of them have to go in, along with many other things...
  18. Thanks Ronan and Bluebard Cheers Batbrick. I might think about it later, perhaps when I make my Batcave. And I will be MODing Racer X's car when I get it, so I may well end up with some slopes after all. It's a wonder I don't have asthma with all the dust in my room! Take a look at some of the Batplane pictures and you'll see what I mean. I rather like it too actually. It's small, but still bulky and it looks pretty strong. I felt that in black it wouldn't look quite as armour-ish. As for the dish, I just really like the piece. That, and I prefer 'Redbird' as the car. Hmm, there's an idea... Yeah, the way I did the front wheels was the only way I could think of, and I don't think there are any I couldn't think so either. Not my favourite mini Batmobile, but I'm not too disappointed with it. Thank you. The 'handle bars' should really be grey and more bar-like, but I don't really care. As for the studs at the back, perhaps it would look better studless, but I just can't be bothered changing it This is the Batplane. Did I not...? *quickly edits in Batplane title* No, I didn't. And if I'm honest, I was surprised as well! It took ages to get the cockpit to work. Yeah, he is a little tall. But that's because he was done a while ago, before I'd perfected my minifig art technique. Quite alright. And I believe it's called stalking...
  19. Ooh... Bat-sequel. War Games actually, but I have read War Crimes as well. There's War Drums (the lead up to the gang war), three volumes of War Games (the actual gang war), and then War Crimes (focusing on the aftermath). Nice going. I've not managed that yet, but my friend was surprised to admit that he liked my writing despite the comics format. He said he didn't think he'd be interested in reading a comic, but he really enjoyed it. I've even got him interested in some guest writing down the line. I shouldn't think it'd be a problem. As long as we don't take this thread off-topic as well!
  20. Yeah, um I haven't read it...
  21. From DW Confidential (roughly): "No-one's expecting [her death]." Sorry, but I was. "No-one's expecting [her resurrection]." No... I guessed that as well. Anyway, it was a pretty good episode. It was nice that Susan was more or less acknowledged, albeit in an oblique way. And on DW Cofidential afterwards, it was hinted at that this may not be the end of Jenny's story...
  22. They were in one of those paper supplementals last week, so I'd expect so.

    Dung Mall

Sorry, but that's really funny. There's something so uninhibitingly primal about toilet humour. The fountains's fantastic, but my laughter has obscured some of the other details...
  24. Glad I inspired you. Well, sort of inspired you. I like it, it's nice. It's very clearly Sentry, but the little extras add something to it, especially the armour plate at the front. The original would have been a bit useless if the robot had been blown to pieces!
  25. Welcome to Bat-MOC Goody-Bag part 3. It's certainly been a long time coming. Technically, this should be volume 3, seeing as how it's not really connected to the first 2 in any thing but name. But I called the second goody bag part 2 so I'm keeping the name. Noticing your blank faces, here's what's on show: a quick piece of artwork a MOD 7 MOCs a vig Lots of small things this time. MOCs Bat-jetski I was looking at Robin's speedboat/jetski thing a while ago, and figured that Bats could do with one. So I followed a similar design and came up with this. I used a spare sticker from one of the sets on this. I slightly missed the centre, and while it's not obvious in these photos, it really annoys me Gallery Bat-strike It's not initially obvious what a 'Bat-strike' is, but according to a book I have it's the name Bats has given to one of those underwater diving sleds. This is slightly based of one seen in Superman/Batman: Supergirl, but only slightly. Gallery Underwater Batsuit You may have noticed that Bats was just wearing an underwater variant of his costume. Here's a better look: Nice and simple, but I like it. The clawed thing he has is a little grabbing device for picking things up off the seafloor (or more likely the bottom of Gotham harbour), like Kryptonite, for example. Gallery (only one other pic, hardly worth the bother ) Bat-armour When facing foes far stronger than himself, like the Scarebeast and even Supes on occasion, Batman has been known to use a suit of Batarmour. I decided to make a suit that looked like it could hold a minifig, but actually doesn't. The funny thing is, it's bigger than a minifig and the Batarang is still too big. Gallery Robin's Batcycle I figured that Robin needed his own Batcycle. So I borrowed Bane's bike and added one piece to it: Gallery Micro Tumbler I'm not sure if this is a design I'm completely happy with, but never mind. It's built to the same size as my other Mini Batmobiles. I particularly like the rear wheel assembly though. Gallery Batglider I'm counting this as a MOC rather than a MOD, as there's not really anything here to link it to the Arkham glider (well, save the wing pieces). It's based on the glider from Batman: Year One. You know, in silouette it would look rather like a bat... Gallery MODs Batplane (Batwing MOD) I decided that when he was jetsetting around the world to fight crime, or perhaps visit such places as Nada Parbat, Bats would likely take some comany in the shape of Robin. So I MODed the Batwing to have two seats in the cockpit. But in doing so, this became a Batplane, as the unspoken rule is that the Batwing has one seat, the Batplane has two or more. This was rather difficult to photgraph well, for some reason, so do your best. As well as adding in an extra seat, I also made the whole thing flatter, removed the rear missile and removed the wing missiles. The nose was slightly rebuilt as well. Ooh, next door's chair seems to have fallen over... The back was rebuilt to allow headroom for Robin, and also to give a more streamlined shape. Robin has to sit in the back... ... while Bats sits in the front. The front seat is a stud lower than the rear one, so as to accomodate the cowl. I think this is the clearest image of the lot! Gallery Other Artwork Just a quick piece of Lego Batman art, done as a sketch for a larger project (coming soon). Ignore the question marks... Batbrick In his MOCs and MODs treat, Batbrick first gave me a haircut, then a new hairstyle, then pined my unfortunate (and unwanted) temporary break from the site. Damn computer problems... So, in the depths of the BatbrickCave, Batbrick corners a theif. Hmm, I wonder who it is... And that's all for Bat-MOC 3 (I couldn't be bothered typing the whole name). There will be a part 4 in the future, as I've already got a couple of things that can go in it. Hopefully it won't take as long as this one did. In the meantime, check out my other Bat-MOCs and Bat-MODs (not the Batcave shelf though, ignore that). Questions and comments are, as always, welcome.
