  1. Which one? Bessie, or the (actual) Whomobile? Because I'm having Bessie. I don't know, I quite liked it. Sure, it's not Doctor Who, but it's not bad. And I kind of fancied Tosh a bit... So, The Fires Of Pompeii. Did everyone notice the "She is returning to you" line from Evalina? Now I wonder who that could be... Not a bad episode. Quite heavy though. The adult Pyroviles were cool though, and did anyone else think they looked just a little bit like Movie Optimus Prime?
  2. Yeah, I was wondering when you'd point that out. There was a reason I didn't mention it, see. But I did say Mary Marvel, not Mary Batson, so technically... ... Huh? Oh, sorry, I was just picking my mouth up from the floor. Anyway, how about Zatanna:
  3. Not that you're wrong. Okay, I want any of my previous doubting remarks to be stricken from the record, this looks fantastic! Kevin Conroy is simply sublime as the Bat, and the fact that he's returning is one of many positive things about this. I may have to buy this. Not watched the sneak preview yet though. I'll try and do that later, when I have more time.
  4. I want it, but I'm not buying it. It's a reasonable price at only £140, but I just can't justify spending all that money on a chess set when I don't actually play chess. I'm not particularly good either, the kids in chess club (in a primary school, where I volunteer) are better than me. I did pick up Dwarf Mine Defence the other day. I would have picked up more, but couldn't afford it, so just to get my Lego fix, I bought that. I love it! The trolls and the dwarf are effortlessly cool, and the catapult's not half bad either.
  5. TRU UK has them in as well, same price as on S@H. I didn't pick any up, but I would have, had I not spent all my money on a laptop.
  6. Wow, very nice. I especially like the Freeze one, but they're all nice. You know, I wouldn't mind some of these on my wall...
  7. Nice Bat-MOCs there Front. Like Batty ( ) said, the main model is very cool, and it scores some points for originality. The second model, I don't think it's quite as cool as the first, but again it's very nice, in an OTT sort of way.
  8. So's mine. But I should be able to make do until I can deplete the amount of content with the Batcave and Arkham. Have you noticed though, that in the Batman comics (Batman, Detective Comics, etc.), Batman is considered by many (at least until War Games) to be an 'urban legend'. Yet it is common knowledge that he's been a Justice Leaguer since the beginning. Are the denizens of Gotham obliviopus to the rest of the world or something? Oh so will I, but I might borrow some designs from certain comics. For example, there's a rather neat med-scanner in Superman/Batman and Justice League I might try and replicate. It's also good for simply findinbg things to go in the Batcave, rather than for their designs. What? I loved the Bond-ola when I was younger, and I still love it now. The Q-Branch bits were always my favourite-the flame-throwing bagpipes, the ghetto blaster, the airbag-in-a-phonebox... Oh, very funny... How about an ejector seat? Oh... damn. Yeah, I agree. But I'd argue it's actually a combination of the chemical bath and the 'no fixed origin' that makes him Mr J. We don't know who he was before, or at least we don't know which of about three or four origins is true. I read the Lovers and Madmen Batman Confidential arc recently, in my monthly CEs, and I'm not sure I took to it. It was a retelling of the Jokers origin, which is fine (I enjoyed The Man Who Laughs), but he didn't become the Joker until I think the 4th part. So for the first three he was walking round as 'Jack'. Now I know it has been suggested that his real name was Jack before, but this comic seemed to say this was the definitive origin. I just think that took away part of the character. That, and it ignored the Red Hood part, and conflicted with The Man Who Laughs. However, the film isn't the comics, so I'll enjoy it for what it is. On a sidenote, I bought my laptop the other day, and I finally got round to photographing a lot of stuff for uploading. I've not got my wireless internet up yet (still using the home PC), but the photos are on my laptop in the middle of being edited and resized. Bat-MOC 3 and a few other things should be up shortly after I get my internet, which hopefully won't be too long.
  9. *look* Well, exactly. I mean, it's the Batcave. A lot of people won't know the Fortress of Solitude or the Watchtower or the Baxter Building, but most know the Batcave. It's as much an icon as Batman himself. The other thing I've got to somehow do is leave enough empty space on the shelf unit at any one time for building of smaller bts and pieces, and storing briecks when they're not yet in use. I can use my desk, but it's at the other end of the room, so it means a lot of to-ing and fro-ing. I, on the other hand, am a continuity geek. And they can be used for reference as well. I'll be digging out as many Batcave pictures as I can find in the comics I have, just for some inspiration. And if they've got Babs in, well... Oh yes. Guns, gadgets, girls. It's high action, a bit of campy humour (with the exception of Casino Royale and perhaps a few of the earlier ones), amnd great villains. I have to say, the gadgets are the best bit though. When I get a car, I'm outfitting it with some 'optional extras' *laugh* It depends. I'd rather have a Joker with stained skin, but if the makeup stays on throughout the film (and we don't see the face underneath), and it doesn't look too much like makeup, then I'm okay with it. To be honest, if he's a good character, he's a good character, regardless of the visuals. And he certainly seems to fit with the film's atmosphere. And you never know, perhaps the makeup will be stained to his skin at some point.
  10. That's nothing. When I showed my friend all my Lego the other week, he barely touched anything, nothing fell over, he was so very, very careful... and he still made a joke about me putting everything back exactly where it was before he touched it. Just because he knows what I'm like.
  11. It has been remarked upon before, yes. I've never really read any Captain Marvel/Shazam specifically, just stuff with them in, so I couldn't really comment. But does it matter? Yeah, that was the best pic I could find... You seem to think that's not my intention. *laugh*
  12. It's called excitement. I'd have to agree with you though, this season does look really good, and I hope it lives up to my expectations (which I'm sure it will). Again, I agree with you. A fantastic composition, and if I'm honest, a tune I was singing for days afterwards. Unfortunately, you've just got it stuck in my head. *laugh* But... they haven't. I assume you mean Reset, in which case the alien insects were mayfly, not wasps. Yeah? Well mine gets a TARDIS at the bottom of the garden, and a Torchwood-mobile in the drive. *laugh*
  13. I don't actually have that dino, so I'm having to settle for this mammoth (no, dinosaur) one. It should look impressive though, being the size it is. As long as it fits, that is. That said though, it's feet only take up a small area (it's tail and body could overhang other areas, like the lab for instance), and it doesn't necessarily have to go in the trophy room, just nearby. Besides, I relish the challenge of making it fit. Yeah, I think Freeze's gun was on the list too. I've got a lot of small things (except the dinosaur, coin and Joker card), so it shouldn't take up too much room. Is the hope anyway. I own Tower Of Babel. I picked it up a few years ago for something like £2.99 (ridiculously cheap!). It's good, but then I'm a Justice League fan, so I would say that. It's interesting to see the different reactions to Batman's 'betrayal'. As for being 'far ahead' I wouldn't say that. I actually own very few TPBs/HCs myself. Apart from all my monthly CE comics, that I mentioned way back, I only own 23 graphic novels currently. I borrow most from the library (surprisingly well stocked, and usually quite up to date), then only buy the ones I really want. IDWs ongoing Transformers series, Infinite Crisis and 52, The Long Halloween (on your recommendation), Heroes online comic collection volume 1, V for Vendetta, and a few others. Oh... of course *blush*
  14. Yes, I noticed that. Seeing as how Chantho died, it's likely to be another character. Unless it's set before.
  15. Perhaps. But glasses and red hair... And I'll even forego mentioning that Bats seems to have become part of the Sun's rotation... I've just had a look, and yeah, I see what you mean... Do you know who we've not mentioned? Mary Marvel. As long as she's wearing white. But nthat's probably just the cutesy innocense and the short skirt...
  16. But we didn't know she was going to be in the first episode though, did we? Only that she was returning. I notice you put it all in. I just condensed and summarised it. :-D
  17. Yes, I think it was. Actually, I think I may have a taped copy somewhere. I might go and look for that. Thanks TP. I might have a look in HMV next time I'm near one, they always seem to have a load of cheap DVDs and I'm sure I've seen some of the BTAS films before. Yes it is, I happened to stumble across it on Wikipedia just a few moments ago.
  18. Yhing is, I'm not even sure how I'll do these. The T-Rex is sorted. It's the wrong colour, and slightly the wrong shape (being the red mutant one from Dino Attack/Dino 2010), but never mind, the idea's there. The Joker card I'll probably print and put it one some card. As for the coin, I may have to do the same as there's no way I can build a convincing one. I'll probably stick a umbrella in there, there's always an umbrella. Maybe a few villain costumes that are going spare, a few 'anonymous' filler items, some weaponry, a Spiderman newspaper (crossover event anyone?), and some other things I can't quite recall. I've made a list though, wherever it is. Yes, I willbe getting Indy. I bought 52 voklumes 2, 3 and 4 yesterday, and I know I'm not supposed tob e spending, but I made an excpetion here. They were 3 for 2, and I had a £5 book token left from ages ago. That took it down to £19 (from £36). I'd just recieved £10 that morning, so that takes it down to £9. That £9 will be replaced with a cheque I have to pay in from Easter, so technically I didn't actually spend any of my money. I'm up to about week 42 at the moment, I think. It's very good, despite the lack of the Big 3 (well, mostly). I just need to get the World War 3 tie-in trade, then I can start on Countdown... Although technically this is World War 4. The DCU already had WW3 back in JLA when the entire world faced Mageddon. There's one for the fanboys... Well, exactly. It's up there with Optimus Prime and the Batmobile.
  19. I have seen a few of the extended-length TV Movie-type BTAS 'episodes.' One with Mr Freeze and another one, which had the Joker in. Unfortunately, I can't remember the names. I know, not like me.
  20. Because they're cute, and AFOLs have a strange attraction to anything cute (case in point: Harley Quinn).
  21. He is cool (in more ways than one). Just not in the 60s, especially that yellow outfit he wore as 'Mr Zero' in the comics just previously. Ah, now that I have seen. And it was very good.
  22. I'll make sure to cram the trophy room with a few nice details too. I got to £120, and that's only counting stuff from this new (current) S@H catalogue. There're the 2 games, the Bat-sets and the Agents sets to go yet. Plus, some non-Lego purchases: books, cinema tickets, a couple of Transformers. I'm not even a Speed Racer fan! I must say, though, that the film looks very cool.
  23. Well, it paid off. Yeah, there's that. And I think I may need to brush up on my DCAU slightly, I didn't realise Ace was even in there :-$ I might see if I can pick up the complete series DVDs cheap from somewhere. BTAS, JLU and Superman if I can find them. But they must be on sale, I'm not made of money.
  24. Egg-zactly. Both were so egg-citing to watch, and both were rather egg-spert creations, don't you think? X-D
  25. We get to see the glasses when she's not wearing the cowl. Maybe that's it... Hmm, I missed the ' ;-) ' after 'you know.' I meant to say that I liked it/her, rather than didn't. As for Selina, wait till I get home tomorrow and I'll go and have a look, see what you mean. I'd win... >:-) That a complaint?
