Splendid idea, immediately moved the second jukebox upstairs!!

Here is my take on modifying the Downtown Diner. I used two sets, and sort of mirrorbuild one set. The footprint is 56 studs. I widened the stairs on both sides with one stud to reach the 56 studs.

Ah, i see! Point for you is also that you have a flat side on your sand blue version, else it would be a cornerbuilding. Now you now too that Modding is sometimes not as easy as it seems to be, especially when you have not much spare bricks, like me. You are limited in building and then you need to be creative! Great work!

You could also widen the sandblue cafe, as it will look more complete then!

In my case, it would save me 40 euros, BUT...it is over an hours drive.. so, besides the cost of fuel, it would cost me parking-fee and, more important.. about 3 hours of precious time which i can also spend on my kids... There is also a point of if it will be available in the store.. not sure if they do any reservations... and the risk of getting a speeding ticket on the 'Deutsche Autobahn' And for two sets, i will get 40 VIP-points extra...

It is on SAH now.. at least on the Dutch site... https://shop.lego.com/nl-NL/Diner-in-de-stad-10260 It also says purchase is limited to 3 per household....

My layout has such measurements that you cannot see what faces the minifigs have...haha! -
It is a nice set, i'd love to buy two of them and make some kind of standalone Diner of it! I might incorporate the pink car in the building though.. take only the front and mak a table of it!

If you buy two sets and mirror-build one, and take away one of the Juke-box-bows, you have in fact one large stand-alone Diner...! That is what i'm gonna do! (Edit : spelling) -

Market Street was the first....so no one new about the ideas of modulars that evolved later on... the first car ever on the street was also not the best ever... -
Saw it on Flickr last week....all of my own Town Layout pride has vanished instantly....TOP build!
