LDD Brick Selection
Randal replied to TheLegoWithin's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Speaking as someone who uses LDD every day, I wouldn't go so far as to say "Endless", but I have made transparent people and the Silver Surfer... and I've been known to use cows, dogs and horses. There's also bears, sharks, rabbits, cats, rats, bugs and many others in Lego Universe mode. -
Universe mode on LDD
Randal replied to TheLegoWithin's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Has anyone said whether LU mode in 4.0 will be accessed the same way or if things will need to be modified and applied differently whenever it eventually arrives... some day... in the near or perhaps distant future? -
First sneek peak at LDD 4.0
Randal replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
and then after that it will be late November or December :/ I hope not, but I think they're pushing it off til after things smooth over with LU, which could take a while. "We're sorry for the wait, but we needed to borrow the LDD coders to help with the LU overflow. Thank you for your patience and understanding." That's my guess, anyway. I know after big patches or new Xpacks for WoW, you'd be hard pressed to find anybody for support help, they're all busy changing things they didn't foresee in the beta. -
I would certainly ask permission. It looks pretty good and would make a great device of impending doom, which I seem to employ often in Brick. Though, regarding the official version, I think a spider with samurai sword legs would scare me poopless too.

That's pretty cool.

Do these wheels serve any purpose other than being something complex to have fun with while building? Do they provide superior traction, or enhanced control?

WIP: Large model downtown city Part 2
Randal replied to alienwar9's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
If I had a bigger processor and more ram, I'd ask for the lxf's so I could have lego backdrops in brick. I do okay with what I've got though. These are impressive in terms of scale, time spent and attention to detail. -
Official Lego sets
Randal replied to LDDtechnician's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
If they're not going to tell us a release date, I'd at least like to hear why it's late and be told something like, "Hey, we hit a wall and it will be a while" or "we're just working on the fine details and it's getting pushed aside because of the LU launch" or "just wait a few more days, weeks, etc...". I just hate not being told why it's late or not being given a ballpark figure when they know we want to know. -

home-made bricks?
Randal replied to LDDtechnician's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I am extremely interested in the added decals. I make an LDD comic and the current torso decal selection is laughable. If I had access to many more, I would be very grateful. I'd like to see instructions how with an included set of decals posted here. Please and thank you. -
First sneek peak at LDD 4.0
Randal replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I've been staving off my bit-chomping by reading Discworld books. In the last four weeks, I've read all the Rincewind books, all the Watch books, most all the Tiffany Aching books, and I'm working on the witches books. In the meantime, I've been able to squeak by with Ver 3. =S -

Yes, a lot could be done to speed the process, unless this is a program to provide employment for unemployed Dutch... Oh, and grumble grumble grumble ... want a release date ... grumble grumble grumble... -
Showman's caravans in LDD
Randal replied to BrickWild's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That second one, I've never seen one like it in the States. (And as a professional driver, I've seen all but one of the states.) -

I find myself getting rather impatient. I'd at least like them to give out a release date, then I could relax. =B -

Thank you. Yes, some of them are nasty. Though, somehow the Minifigs tend to disarm the strong subject matter and make it seem less serious. Like the bloodbath showcased today.- 5,041 replies

Wow. I haven't contributed in a while... I think I'm subconsciously waiting for 4.0 to come out. Still chugging out LDD comics though, so there's that at least... I guess. (I was pretty proud of the digital editing I used to make the storm trooper head look like a storm trooper head on Monday. It is an LDD storm trooper helmet, not a photo.)- 5,041 replies

First sneek peak at LDD 4.0
Randal replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I started to get excited today because LDD took FOREVER to load... but then it loaded up regular... Talk about your build up to a let down. I guess my 'puter was just slow this morning. -

What would help me immensely is that, like with colors in LU for 3.1, if in LU mode you could flex any piece... that would be awesome if I could bend Minifigs any way I needed to... XD Since we're so close to September, any actual firm date mentioned? -

Awesome. I had been waiting for the pdf of this to be available at brickshelf. I never had the time to reverse engineer it. This will help me with presidential gags in Brick. Now I can do my B'rick Obama jokes.- 5,041 replies

You could always rebuild it in LDD, though I think you'd need to open up Lego Universe mode (found in the LDD section of this forum)
