  1. Highly unlikely. A common practice in the film industry is to slap on a production name or keep the final name from the public eye. This helps keep people talking about the movie in anticipation as they speculate on what will happen. Another reason to keep a generic production title is if the actual title gives something away before they're ready to release that information, like the identity of the antagonist, for example.
  2. My point is they've improved the program and gave some love to the SW fans... many of whom might not probably don't read the LDD forum. They even have Admiral Akbar's head... I had to restrain myself from doing an "It's a trap!" comic.
  3. That's pretty sweet. Dracula is one of my favorite books. I like the black and white pics here.
  4. I use Universe mode, so I don't know which new SW bricks are included in the regular version, but you can easily go to the EB LDD forum and read the thread about unlocking Lego Universe mode to get all the extra bricks. There are many new SW minifig pieces, mainly various trooper helms and accessories, but you also get the Greivous minifig and Boba Fett's helm is now available too.
  5. I wish Kershner had directed the prequels. George Lucas is a better producer than director. (Cough)howardtheduck(cough)
  6. I carved a Jolly Roger pumpkin and then made this spiffy avatar... and so that this post makes sense after I eventually change my avatar...
  7. Adding decals has been moved to the paint menu. And might I say, the added colors in LU mode are phenomenal. I have more reds and metalics now than I know what to do with. =O
  8. Happy Birthday. I wish they had more pirate ship pieces in LDD. They added a lot of Star Wars minifig helmets and accessories though. So now I can use more SW comic themes beyond just Storm Troopers and Princess Leia. =)

    Mega Bloks

The Iron Man sets look cool, but I'm always afraid to pick up any MB sets because I'm always hearing how their QC is more lax than Lego. And while it sounds odd, perhaps because I'm just used to Lego, who has a wide variety of their own specialty bricks, but when I look at the MB specialty bricks, it's like I'm looking at something totally foreign. Sort of like seeing something in the Russian alphabet. You know they're letters and some of them look similar to these, but they're still different.

    Brick Carving

Did you carve a Lego themed pumpkin this year? (previous years?) Throw a link or a reasonably sized pic of it up in this thread. Here is a link to mine, though currently it's also my avatar.
  11. Today's Brick: Unhappy Halloween.
  12. It won't let me do it either. It's grayed out. I guess I just need a better box. I was hoping to use the advanced shading for brick... oh well.
  13. I like that you can numerically rotate the pieces now on a 360 degree scale. You can click on the little box and type in a rotation angle. I also like that they added camels and ostriches :D. I can now make desert comics. =)
  14. My current computer can't handle the advanced shading... =(
  15. Can we post an install file for 3.1? I'd hate to lose that shark. I've used it a few times in Brick and planned to use it again for Monday... The small shark isn't as good.
  16. According to Terry Pratchett, all roads lead to Ankh-Morpork... >_>
  17. While not perfect, LU mode does give you a butt load more bricks. (Including coins, the monkey, etc... also more faces, including pirate faces, peg legs, hook hands, pirate skull caps, pirate captain hats, and much much more.)
  18. If it helps at all, you should dismantle the dome and put it together in place instead of separate. LDD is horrible at moving one large section of bricks in the presence of another large section. I seem to remember that is how the other person who built this set did it.
  19. At first glance, I thought that was a mummy minifig, but closer inspection revealed a skeleton. A mummy would have been cool. I think the house needs to look spookier.
  20. Those are neat. And the links worked for me. It's a shame they're not to LXF files. >_>
  21. Good grief. That's too much like work. I'd like LDD4 LU mode to present the legal colors and just let you alter things with the color change pallet down on the tool bar, similar to regular mode. However, LDD4 is done... therefore this request is a day late and a dollar short.
  22. I'd like to see SPIII continue, but if it doesn't, I'd like to see something a bit polar to it, where the police are the militant bad guys and the good guys are scruffy plucky smugglers and such. Oh wait, they have that... It's called Star Wars. Oh well. I would like to see some kind of Space Pirates though. They don't have to be the good guys. As someone else said, the good guys could be some upstanding legitimate agency, like ore mining on asteroids, or ice miners for a system that has plenty of comets, but little potable water on the planet(s). Or you could turn it around and make the space pirates lovable good scoundrels who, in the spirit of Robin Hood, fight the ever trendy evil conglomerate corporation who gouges the little guy with monopolized high prices. To get back to Space Police III, I think the idea of space gangsters is one of the coolest Lego ideas ever. I wish they'd thought of it when I was a kid. Two of my favorite sets are the Limo and the space chase one that has a muscle car looking spaceship. And the police vehicles they have chasing them are really fun too. On par with the inventiveness of the Atlantis sets, which I also like.
  23. My personal favorites are 29 and 30. Some of the other ones are pretty outstanding too.
  24. I edit LDD screenshots everyday, so I've picked up a few things that help the shots look better for when you post them to showcase your work. To compensate for the almost transparent pieces, use a program that manages images in layers (Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, GIMP). Copy your entire image, then paste it as a couple or three more layers on top of the main layer. However many times depends on how opaque you want the translucent brick. The more layers you stack, the less transparent those pieces get. Another trick that works the other way, like say for a visor or windshield that doesn't let you see enough of what is behind it, take two snapshots, careful not to move the camera angle at all. One image should have the visor or window, the other should be taken after you 'x' the clear piece off the model. When you place them both in the same image file as layers, make sure the layer with the visor/window is above the layer without those pieces and you will be able to see the face behind the visor or whatever is behind the window more clearly.
