  1. Great job, I never heard oh a silo placing truck before. And, it looks like hamsters and alcohol don't mix!
  2. Spotted in the wild, at the Westfarms CT Lego store: 42020,42021, 42026 and 42027, but no 42025. Place was too crowded to ask why these were put out ahead of schedule, maybe I will go back during the week.
  3. Sariel, very useful and thank you for creating, but I get: 12 inches = 0.99 feet 1 foot = 12.115 inches 1 inch = 2.539 cm I haven't checked the others
  4. And during family gatherings or formal occasions I am not visualizing gear trains in my head
  5. Awesome, put it on LEGO Ideas and I'll vote as many times as I can
  6. Thanks Master_Data, now it makes more sense, and shows how much more sophisticated pricing has become when they take into account cost of scrap. In a former job I had, reducing scrap was a prime driver for process redesign and improvement.
  7. I'm passing on this, but a head's up. TRU website in the US has 9398 crawler for $160, and 9396 helicopter for $100 with free shipping (You can send me the commission )
  8. In my case, I can expect nearly 100 % of the parts to go missing... The cat has a small stash in the basement, together with other odd stuff that cats collect, but that doesn't account for the vast majority of the parts that disappear in my house.
  9. Great timing, solved a problem with my current MOC project, plus having part 11214 Con. bush FR 2M+Cross axle.
  10. Cross-posted from LDD update topic: In the new brickset 1392, found a major (well, for some people) error. IN LDD extended and regular mode, part 76537 (two instances in regular mode - white/black and yellow/black), shock absorber, extra hard, is listed by image in the brick palette, but can't be dragged onto the screen. It is between parts 53533 and 98989. Moreover, models using this part get a bad part error. Also, part 58118 (FUNC EXT. Wire 50 CM.) has been deleted from the new brickset. There appears to be superfluous part 95292's in the brick palette in LDD extended mode

  12. Ok, thanks - its still 1264, and I tried deleting the lb.lif file, and it just downloaded the same one.
  13. Dumb Q? How do you know you got updated, I don't see anything new on my copy of LDD?
  14. My kids; until they can get their own LEGO put away and not left scattered all over the place, there is no way I'd let them at my completed sets or parts. You should have seen what happened to Shelob, oh the horror
  15. I suspect that some of the Bricks and Pieces pricing might be quantity dependant, so the more ordered, the lower the per-piece price, and so could be one reason why the prices are not posted.
  16. I got two at 30% discount, there was a third in a damaged box, might go back for that one also
  17. Wow, that's really a great result, would be great to get a version of this that works on a "normal" (2 year old) PC. It could be my personal preference or my monitor, but the colors, especially the orange, look oversaturated to me and a bit too contrasty overall. Otherwise, a great result. From LDD, you can export the model as a LDRAW format, does this help? I haven't used this option so can't comment on whether it is worthwhile.
  18. The two black R/L panels 11946/11947 are only used in one set, 3 each in set 42021 snowmobile (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=42021-1), so unless one is being used more frequently in an upcoming, unreleased set, still seems odd having a price discrepancy on nominally the equivalent parts. LEGO is mysterious in many ways...
  19. I recently placed an order with LEGO Bricks and Pieces, with most prices coming in at or below BL's, which is good. But I noticed something curious - for some parts which occur in pairs, such as Technic panels, one would think that the left and right corresponding parts, differing only in being mirror images of each other, would have the same price, right - Wrong Check this out: 8 6023036 RIGHT PANEL 2X5 (N0 21) 6.24 USD 8 6022761 LEFT PANEL 2X5 (NR 22) 5.12 USD and, but not so extreme 8 4160108 RIGHT SHELL 2X6 W/BOW/ANGLE 3.52 USD 8 4160130 LEFT SHELL 2X6 W/BOW/ANGLE 3.60 USD That's a $0.14 difference, per part, between the right panel 2x5, part no. 11946, and the left panel 11947. The right/left shell 41747/41748 are only $0.01 apart. Why the difference? What's the logic in pricing differently what should be identical parts in terms of weight, size, and handling?
  20. I'll let my kids use my PF motors when they are old enough to know not to stick there fingers into gear trains
  21. (To my kids) Sorry, I don't have that 15L beam you are looking for, in fact, I don't have any Technic parts in the basement; and I certainly do not have 8 brand new Unimog wheels
  22. That 8/12 portal axle could be really useful. How about this part, but with 5, 7, or 9 pinholes instead of one? Longer versions will be very useful for cross-bracing.
  23. I found this collision error between technic pin (also happens with 3M pin) and battery box...
  24. Hillbillies are from WV, you need to go to OK or TX to see rednecks :D
