On closer inspection, the set is even stranger to me, as the Flash seems to be in his New 52 outfit ... The belt is New 52, as is the Chin strap, and weirdly, the circle of his logo is above the lightning bolt. I wonder if this New 52 thing is a new trend, with this and Green Arrow.

I love the Flash, but am not entirely sold yet. I'll get it of course, but it's just not quite right to me. As others have said, the set itself isn't exactly the pinnacle of innovative set design, and to me, without his yellow speedster boots the figure just looks a bit...dare I say it...bland? A little too red. Ho hum, I shall wait for better pictures to make a more informed judgement. ^^

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

Aye, I didn't notice it either, but it's kinda cool that they did that and it sort of makes sense. [Cynical] Especially from a merchandise standpoint [/Cynical] -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

I just looked it up and found other toys relating to it. It seems to be the 'skull' sequence (Which is partly in the trailer). Am sure you know what it is. :P -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Catanas replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Interestingly enough, it seems to be Arrows New 52 suit, so there is always room for him still in his more traditional garb, like the rest of the heroes. Black Superman is a bit odd as it uses the Man of Steel print. Ho hum, they look ok, though not as good as Bizarro and Shazam. Spiderman is pretty good, but Spiderwoman just doesn't do it for me! -
This is absolutely brilliant, thanks for sharing! The head is probably my favourite part as it looks really natural, for a mechanical Lego machine of course. :D

Arr, thankee :) I was going to bump at somepoint, I promise! I see what you mean about Heatwave, another set of eyes is always useful, haha. I'll see if I can have a fiddle with him! Huntress came out much better than I was hoping too which was nice, and I know it's a bit self serving to put Speedcat in there, but I loves her, so it's ok! I agree about the colours. I think I put the yellow in there before just to break things up but white seems to do that better. Come to think of it. Yellow belts are the in thing... Batman, Robin, Superman, Shazam, Flash, Aquaman, Hush..etc >> Anywho, threw up a little preview of the next one for you!

Review: The Lone Ranger 79108 - Stagecoach Escape
Catanas replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Licensed
Great review as always! Lovely clear photos and some humourous little snippets! Personally, I quite like this set, and may be one of the only ones I do pick up from this line as I'm budgeting myself to DC this year! You are right though, it is a little big. Well, not just a little big, a lot!- 39 replies

He speaks the truth! ^_^ A good shot of it here. http://www.geekrest....we_jor_el_3.jpg And thinking about it, if it were the same undersuit it would still have the red cape bits. :S -
The new version of Superman has certainly grown on me, even though I really disliked it when we were shown the first image. He looks fine in Lego too and Zod is a great figure. Lois, however, I do not like. The face just doesn't feel right at all, and as others have said, the hair could have been better. The set itself seems fine and is a nice little representation of what I read the set to be based on. It has some nice play features for its primary audience and nice parts and minifigures for the adults! I'll probably pick up Smalliville before this though. Thanks for the great review. :)

Saw this on Flickr a few mins ago. It's great, nice and colourful and I kinda like how you've made everyone else anonymous! The Graysons are really nice too, simple, but effective.

I feel I should have commented on your work sooner, but this is great stuff. All extremely recognisable and an awesome usage of parts. The customs are really good, especially Cheetah, but I do find that she looks better without the muscle torso even if it is a bit simpler. As you say, a little bit too masculine :P What I especially like in your work are the brick built figures, and I know I shouldn't but I find Grundy to be quite cute here, hehe. Big thumbs up anyway!

REVIEW: 10937 Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout
Catanas replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Aye, this is defintely one of my favourite Lego sets ever. So much so I've bought a couple and am making an even bigger version in the same style! I'm especially fond of the window design. The little hints of dark red give just a little bit more character. -

I for one, bow to our new overlords. -
Very cool, am loving seeing more DC MoCs from you and Nemo. And as always, liking the figures, especially Mr White.

The Penguin's Batman Minifigures. )
Catanas replied to The Penguin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Excellent work as always Pengy. Loving Gordons and his super manly braces. :P Also Montoya is pretty awesome and Ares is cool. Not so hot on Captain Cold though. Excuse the pun! I think the blue is too soft for him and detracts from his Gritty persona. -
Thanks for posting. I always wondered what one of these looked like and it's just as heavy duty as I'd expected. And to be honest, I can't even imagine what 120,000,000 2x3 plates would look like so I hope the mould gets a long and comfortable retirement package.

Haha, thanks very much. I was very pleased with how Steel came out too. I was reading 'Reign of the Supermen' at the time and started to actually quite like him as a character. The only real time I'd seen him before that was on the Superman Animated Series and he was ok in that. The thread kind of ground to a halt before November was over as I got distracted by many real life things unfortunately, and I apologize for that. I've been adding one or two where I can as you can see and hopefully will be able to throw a few more up over the next week or two. ^^Was going to bump the thread once I'd added a few more but you beat me to it.

Absolutely love this. That's actually one of my favourite episodes of TAS and you've recreated it perfectly. Like the others, I would love to see many, many more from you because you do these Oh so very well. :P

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

The grass on the other side has to be given a chance to grow before it can get green. ;) Speaking of which, The Luthor Set was very much one of my favourites and I am very, very much looking forward to adding mor Superman villains to my collection. Though I still dislike his new costume. It's not so much the no pants, its just there is nothing to break up the blue at all around the waist area. Just makes him look like he's wearing a onesie or whatever you want to call them. It might make his figure look a bit silly too. -
Did someone say 'Santamantium Claus?'
